Alex Hawthorne is a man without a future.

At least, that was his reasoning for signing up for a risky journey to a troubled colony called Vesta, nearly 50 light-years from Earth. On his very first day awake on the ship to Vesta, he makes a deadly enemy in the form of Lucius Serrano - a gang leader without principles or shame. Alex quickly discovers a plot that affects the entire ship which could lead them to certain death.

And that's before they even get to troubled Vesta, where even more danger awaits.
