Rall is just a kid when his father, the light mage Theodore Lightson, is killed by a mysterious figure. Soon, he ends up alone, having to fend for himself in a world where a young light mage is a precious commodity. If he wants to unravel the mysteries of his family and the world, he will first have to become powerful enough to survive.
