A purple arrow abruptly nailed Bloody Finger in between the neck and drew a metallic spark. Although Beiming Xue’s Bone Eroding Arrow hadn’t quite hit her intended target, it still successfully reduced Bloody Finger’s Defense. Bloody Finger was one of the nine Sovereigns of the Night Creatures, so Bone Eroding Arrow only reduced his Defense by 35% instead of the usual 50%. That was still a huge help though. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to penetrate the boss's Defense.

"Jiejie, you have helpers?"

Bloody Finger looked at the four beautiful women behind me and licked his lips lustfully. "Oh, they’re quite pretty too! Wonderful, it looks like today’s my lucky day!"

"Lucky your sister!"

I made a sudden move and launched a God Binding Art at the boss, but it only resulted in a MISS. I then activated Great Earth Transformation and slashed his side, more specifically a 0.5-cm gap between his arm and his chest armor. Unfortunately, it was Ovia the Bloody Finger’s only weak point. One might say that this boss was near invulnerable.

I was surprised. I wasn’t expecting my basic attack to do so much damage, even though I was attacking a weak point.

"How dare you!"

Bloody Finger shouted and summoned a column of flames around his bloody arms. Then, he tried to punch me in the chest. The Heaven-burning Armor was tough, but I wasn’t willing to test its durability against the attack, so I raised my left arm and summoned the Dragon God Shield to block it. A divine dragon rose from the tattoo across my arm before turning into the Dragon God Shield!

Bloody Finger’s attack left a deep scratch mark and sent me skidding across the ground. As it turned out, not even an Immortal-grade Shield was a match for the boss's power, and I lost a ton of HP despite a partial parry—87677!

"What an insane Attack…" Murong Mingyue exclaimed in astonishment as she healed me.

After that, we all released our pets and attacked the boss together. Slim it might be, going all out was our only hope of beating the Purgatory Sovereign.

"Roar roar!"

The Phantom Wolf King darted across the ground like lightning before clamping its jaw around Bloody Finger’s thigh, its teeth rubbing against armor and drawing showers of sparks.

The Ice Dragon Kris took to the sky and spat draconic breaths onto the boss's head. On the ground, the Ghost Chariot, Thunder Beast, and Ironwing Dragon were doing their best as well.

Ovia the Bloody Finger was losing HP rapidly, but he didn’t seem to care in the slightest. His HP numbered in the millions, so losing a couple hundred thousand HP was like an itch to him.

"Hahaha, you ants. Die!"

He swung his bloody claws and tore the Ghost Chariot’s body to shreds, dealing an insane 265169 damage. As the Level 120+ Ghost Chariot hasn’t fully matured yet, there was no way it could withstand the attack.

Bloody Finger didn’t stop after one-shotting the Ghost Chariot. He grabbed the Thunder Beast’s head next and bit it right in the neck. Then, it pulled and tore the poor pet’s head right off the torso. The two damage that rose above its head caused Beiming Xue’s mouth to fall open—

Clearly, not even the Level 170 Thunder Beast was a match for Bloody Finger.

"Die, you ants! You don’t deserve to live in this world!" Bloody Finger continued to laugh like a madman as he came to a standstill. He pointed his hand at the Ice Dragon Kris, and a red icicle that looked like it was made from blood flew toward the dragon and pierced her neck.

Thud!

Kris let out a scream of pain, but before it could do anything else, Bloody Finger jumped into the air and kicked the dragon right beneath the chin. Then, he smashed her head with his claws and left behind a seemingly bottomless wound. Finally, mouth split into a mad grin as savage laughter escaped his throat, he summoned a gigantic fireball above his head and said, "You disgrace of a Holy Giant Dragon, die!"

Lin Yixin looked deathly pale. The boss was out of our attack range, so there was literally nothing we could do except watch her beloved pet be killed by Bloody Finger. In the norm, Kris was a near invulnerable tank with tenacious dragon armor and over a million HP. However, her defenses were as fragile as tofu before the mighty Purgatory Sovereign.

Standing in the sky, Bloody Finger stared at us for a moment before dashing toward my apparition like an arrow. He then punched it right in the chest!

"Neigh neigh…"

The fake Armored Ice Qilin Horse let out a dying neigh before hitting the earth with a loud thump. Bloody Finger had killed it in a single punch.

"Keep calm and CC the boss!" I shouted as I slapped the Bloody Finger’s head with a Dragon Slaying Slash and an Ancient Seal. Then, I tossed Sword Boomerang right into his neck.

The triple hit dealt a tremendous amount of damage, but it also drove Bloody Finger into a flying rage. He looked down on me and cackled menacingly. "Are you truly fearless, damned adventurer of Sky City? Or are you emboldened by your loyalty to that little girl, Karinshan? Kakaka, it looks like I should pay her a visit at Sky City after I’m done with you all!"

I caught my returning sword before growling out, "No need. You won’t live to go anywhere after today!"

"Jiejie, is that so? Then show me the power you claim to possess!"

Swhoosh! Ovia the Bloody Finger appeared in front of me in just the blink of an eye. It was as if he had shattered even the restriction of the laws of space itself. Not satisfied with just a deadly swipe across my shield, he conjured the bloody icicle that pierced Kris earlier and threw it at me!

Bang! Bang!

Two explosions rocked the Dragon God Shield and my entire body. For a second, I thought that his attacks had literally blown me to pieces. One only needed to look at the damage numbers rising above my head to know just how great his Attack was—

My base HP was around 200k. Bombshell buffed it by 80%, and the Bloodknight Card buffed it by 40%. In total, I sat at 440k HP. But even with my Defense and HP, Bloody Finger still managed to bring me to red health in two hits. Not even Murong Mingyue could heal me back to full in time.

I raised my palm and slapped Bloody Finger’s face with an Ancient Seal again. At the same time, I used Tenacity of the Dead and healed myself for 110k+ HP. I was hardly out of danger though. Bloody Finger channeled yet another icicle in his right arm and looked like he was going to kill me.

It was at this moment a beautiful figure dashed past Bloody Finger and landed Moon Gaze + Extreme Break + Barrier Break combo, stabbing her sword right into his heart. The combination of skills critted and dealt well over 100k damage.

"Damn you!"

Enraged, Bloody Finger turned to attack Lin Yixin next and sent her flying across the air in just one hit. Not only that, his claws actually chipped the blade of the Seven Star Veluriyam Sword a little. Immortal-grade equipment was nothing before a boss like Bloody Finger.

Seeing that Lin Yixin was about to be one-shot, Beiming Xue cast a free-for-all Well of the Abyss and trapped Lin Yixin in it. She just barely saved the light wanderer’s life.

MISS!

At this point, both our tanks were temporarily incapicated, and an OT inevitably took place. So, the furious Bloody Finger attacked Lian Xin next as she was the highest damage dealer of all of us. For the past half a minute or so, she had been blasting Bloody Finger with Ice Spiral Matrices and dealing almost 70k damage per hit. It was no wonder that the boss was eager to wipe her from the surface of the Heavenblessed Continent.

"Take this, baddie!"

A grim-faced Lian Xin moved to the back and slapped down a couple of Origin Force Fields, stopping Bloody Finger dead in his tracks and reducing his HP a little. However, the humiliation also enraged Bloody Finger completely.

"Die!"

A harsh light burst out of Bloody Finger’s claws as he dashed toward Lian Xin. Then, he stabbed her right through the torso and dealt an insane 291038 damage!

"Shit!"

I swore inside my head. Lian Xin’s Telekinetic Shield had failed to block the attack because it turned out that Bloody Finger had the ability to pierce shields. It was over!

That wasn’t even the worst of our misfortunes though. Murong Mingyue hadn’t stopped healing during this time, so the threat transferred to her next and caused Bloody Finger to throw a bloody icicle at her. The skill tore her Spell Shield like paper and killed the party’s one and only healer.

Only three people were still alive in our party now, and Lin Yixin was close to dying. Beiming Xue couldn’t even tank a single hit from the boss, so it was all up to me to hold Bloody Finger off. Honestly though, I didn’t think I could stop him for more than a couple of seconds.

A Thunderous Charge later, I barely cut in front of Bloody Finger before he could reach Beiming Xue and swung my blade. I was pleasantly surprised when a tremendous energy suddenly surged into my arm. Broken Blade procced!

Pu!

The all-out attack successfully stunned Bloody Finger and stalled him for a moment. I quickly followed up with Burning Blade Slash + War Crush combo to draw the aggro.

"Beiming, run now! Teleport back to the city if you can! There’s no way we’re killing this boss here!" I shouted.

Beiming Xue obeyed, but she couldn’t help but look back as she escaped. "Big bro…"

On the other side, Lin Yixin was gritting her teeth in reluctance and resignation as well. She murmured, "We can’t beat this boss…"

"Jie jie, you ants. Die!"

After Bloody Finger recovered, he laughed madly and hit me twice, deleting another 300k HP from my health bar.

I refused to retreat even if my death was certain. Keeping Great Earth Transformation turned on, I struck back with Ancient Seal after Ancient Seal and dealt a ton of damage to the boss. However, his max HP was far too high for a miracle to happen. The sad reality was that we had only managed to reduce his HP by around 3% so far, not to mention that he was regenerating health every second.

"If you are so eager to die, then I shall fulfill your wish, lowly adventurer!"

Bloody Finger cackled. "It is time the world learns of the divine armament I found in the purgatory anyway. Now come! Be destroyed alongside the world around you!"

Chiang!

There was a sharp ring, and a dazzling, purple sword appeared in Bloody Finger’s right hand. Its blade was translucent, its grooves were engraved with runes, and its body was glowing with an intimidating purple light. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that it was a super divine armament. If we fared this badly when Bloody Finger was unarmed, what the fuck could we possibly do now?

"Come! Taste the strength of a divine armament!"

Bloody Finger shouted and swung his sword at me. The only thing I could do was to raise my shield, but to my shock the attack rocked my entire body and...

Bang!

The Dragon God Shield suddenly shattered into several pieces! What the hell!?

Combat Log: Ovia the Bloody Finger triggered the effect "Mountain Crush”. Your Dragon God Shield’s durability is 0. You cannot use it until it is repaired!

I stumbled to the back and fell off the Armored Ice Qilin Horse.

There was an explosion of sparks and energy. Out of nowhere, a bloody spear appeared from a spatial rift and knocked the sword aside.
