《VRMMO: The Unrivaled》Chapter 905: Who’s No. 1?

"You actually lost…"
Moonkiss teased Luo River God of the Capital beside the stage. "Boss, didn’t you always say that Warsky is beneath your notice? What do you have to say now?"
The mage replied indifferently, "Of course not. No one can win forever, not to mention that he knows all about my skills, and I know nothing about his. One loss for a deeper understanding of the Molten Warrior class is absolutely worth it!"
Moonlight Beneath A Rock let out a gasp of admiration and said, "Ohh, boss looks so beautiful when she acts calm like this!"
Moonkiss leaned against the handrails and giggled at her reaction. "Oh Moonlight, you fangirl. Hmph hmph!"
……
The third match was the deciding match. Luo River God of the Capital and Warsky appeared on the battlefield once more, and this time, it was a forest map. Technically speaking, it was more advantageous for a warrior because they could hide behind an obstacle and force a mage to miss a targeted spell.
A hint of delight flashed across Warsky’s eyes. He stood in an open field in the forest and stared at Luo River God of the Capital menacingly.
The mage looked unperturbed, however. She looked like she had everything in her grasp as she took in the sight of a distant forest. The flames burning at the tip of her scepter was a constant reminder that the beautiful mage was in no way as delicate as she looked. Besides Lin Yixin, Luo River God of the Capital might be the strongest female player in the entire China.
As expected, Warsky ran into a shrubbery even before the battle had begun. Judging from the way he disappeared from view and left behind only some rustling noises, the warrior’s stealthing skills were as good as some assassins’.
The moment the countdown reached zero, Luo River God of the Capital took a step forward and slammed her scepter against the ground. A wave of flames instantly washed into the forest, burned down huge swathes of bushes and revealed Warsky crouching behind a bramble like a general taking a quick dump during a forced march. He rushed out of his hiding place while complaining, "That worked? C’mon!"
The mage burst into a giggle before mixing a bit of ice magic into her barrage. The warrior’s movement speed plummeted as icicles exploded against his armor.
Charge!
Warsky seemed to have a unique understanding of player positioning, and Great Earth Transformation drastically increased his Magic Resist. He ignored the magic splashing against his torso and slashed Luo River God of the Capital three times using Cyan Tiger Shatter + Explosion Slash + basic attack combo. He was lucky enough to score a crit with both his Explosion Slash and basic attack as well, so the mage’s Origin Energy Shield instantly dropped below 25% durability.
Swhoosh!
Luo River God of the Capital Blinked 30 yards away from Warsky before lowering the tip of her scepter a bit. The Touch of the Dragonkiss she hid at her original position instantly came active and engulfed Warsky’s entire body.
102923!
Warsky’s eyes widened like saucers. "What kind of attack power is this? I have Great Earth Transformation on, dammit!"
That being said, his hands weren’t slow in the slightest. He fired a devastating Molten Slash that enveloped half the battlefield in smoke. While the smoke was hiding him, he gathered the power of Barrier Break on the edge of his blade and launched a decisive attack from the flank. It looked like the exact same ending from the second match was about to repeat itself!

Luo River God of the Capital closed her eyes and allowed her instincts to guide her. She swung her scepter at just the right time, struck Warsky’s blade from an angle, and reduced the damage she should’ve taken by at least 50%! While the number "48282" rose above her head, she allowed the force to carry her backward and blasted her original position with Galaxy Storm and Touch of the Dragonkiss!
"Ugh…"
Warsky let out a muffled groan of pain and collapsed to the ground. In the end, he wasn’t able to defeat the mage goddess, and the first match and point went to Luo River God of the Capital with a 2:1 score!
……
Back outside the arena, Moonkiss said to her, "That’s a pretty badass parry, boss. A weaker mage would’ve died to that ambush already…"
Luo River God of the Capital nodded. "Warsky is definitely a lot stronger than he was before. Back in the days, I could’ve beaten ten of him on my own. Even one and a half might be a struggle…"
On the other side, Warsky planted his sword on the ground, plopped his butt on a lower rail and stuck one leg over the other. Then, he said to his teammates, "Well, I leave the rest to you all…"
Farewell Song curled his lips. "Yeah, yeah, no pressure at all…"
October Rain shot him a look. "It’s your turn next. Moonkiss has been improving by leaps and bounds, and she has never stopped trying to surpass you. This is your chance to remind her who’s the real no.1 assassin in China. Of course, you can lose and be known as the assfuck of China too, I don’t care either way…"
Farewell Song’s face twitched visibly before he replied, "I’ll absolutely win the next match."
……
Swhoosh swhoosh!
The two combatants teleported onto a grassy terrain where a single line kept them apart. After they exchanged a glance with each other, they crouched at the same time and vanished slowly into thin air.
Chiang chiang chiang…
It was nighttime on the battlefield. For a moment nothing happened, and the next three metallic sparks pierced the eyes and shattered the silence of the field. Before we could even see their outlines completely, the assassins tossed fluorescent powder to the ground and entered stealth again.
Almost everyone was holding their breaths. Was this how a duel between two top-tier assassins looked like?
Rustle rustle rustle…
Footsteps trampled over leaves as the assassins skulked across the terrain. Determining the indent on the ground and the unnatural sound of grass blades being stepped on were quite possibly the only cues for them to determine each other’s location, all the while keeping themselves hidden. No class tested a player’s technique and control more than the Assassin class, and the bar was so high that no ordinary person could just pick it up and be good at it right away.
"Uu…"
It was at this moment Moonkiss let out a soft cry and made the first move. She exited stealth of her own accord and swung her dagger across the air, drawing a shower of bright, red blood. She had successfully cut Farewell Song in the waist.
Instead of retreating, Farewell Song casually knocked aside Moonkiss’s follow-up attack with his left dagger and pounced toward her. After he jumped into the air and landed a knee strike right at the center of Moonkiss's chest, he cast Blade Vortex with his right dagger and stabbed the weapon into her back.

MISS!
38812!
MISS!
God damn! That should’ve been a perfect counter, but an assassin’s evasion rate was so high that two of the three strikes missed!
Moonkiss gritted her teeth as the force of the blow forced her to drop to the ground. But before she lost her balance completely, she halted her fall with one hand and launched a back kick at her assailant!
Bang!
6991!
Farewell Song’s head tilted toward the sky after taking a direct kick beneath the chin. Before he could recover, Moonkiss flipped around and attempted to stab his chest with Blade Vortex + Cold Touch combo!
Farewell Song instinctively knew that it would be too late if he waited until he tilted his head back down, so he swung his daggers in front of him and managed to parry some of the attacks—
MISS!
31092!
MISS!
31028!
It was way too close. Farewell Song howled and activated his Level 180 seventh-promotion skill, Dance of Death. Immediately, his movement speed was boosted by 120%, his Attack by 40%, and his attacks reduced his target’s Defense by 40% for 12 seconds!
……
Thud thud thud...
At the same time, Farewell Song backed away from Moonkiss before tossing his right dagger at her. It was the ranged-attack of an assassin, Night’s Meteor!
Pu!
41027!
Moonkiss's eyes widened as the dagger sank into her flesh. A moment later, she collapsed to her knees and scattered into bright sparks.
Despite the win, Farewell Song couldn’t help but look at his remaining HP and the spot where Moonkiss had died. He muttered to himself, "Holy shit…"
……
It was 1:0 in favor of Farewell Song.
The second match began shortly, and both players reappeared inside the battlefield. Again, they entered stealth mode without a word.
Chiang chiang chiang!
Once again, three metallic sparks exploded where their daggers clashed before Farewell Song forcefully entered stealth mode with fluorescent powder. This time though, Moonkiss opted for a different tactic and surrounded her body in a sheen of bloody light. She activated Dance of Death first before tearing toward her opponent like lightning!
Blade Vortex!
The moment the triple-hit skill forced Farewell Song out of his concealed state, Moonkiss took a page from his book and repeated the exact same combo he put her through earlier! After jumping into the air and knocking the wind out of Farewell Song’s lungs with her armored knee, she hit him three times in a row at close range!
A bunch of damage numbers rose above Farewell Song’s head. He had lost almost all his health in an instant!
Assassins were super powerful damage dealers with poor HP compared to many classes. That was why battles between assassins were usually decided in an instant, especially if they were the aggressive type.
Farewell Song’s eyes were cold and icy as he fell toward the ground. This time, it was his turn to copy Moonkiss's movement by stopping his fall with one hand and launching a sideway kick to the ribs. Unfortunately for the female assassin, she stumbled long enough for Farewell Song to launch a counterattack, and it was all she could do to defend herself against the storm of daggers. Both players lost HP at a drastic rate as they attempted to kill the other player first.
Pu!
Farewell Song took a slash to the face. He would’ve died if he hadn’t drunk a health potion earlier.
Whoosh!
At the same time, his dagger flashed across Moonkiss's neck, and the girl’s movements came to an abrupt halt. In the end, she wasn’t able to take a point off Farewell Song’s hands.
It was 2:0 to Farewell Song!
It was a very close fight though. The assassin sucked in a deep breath when he looked up and saw that he had less than 1000 HP left. "Holy shit, where the hell did these powerful as fuck women even come from…"
……
In the end, Farewell Song was able to defeat Moonkiss and defend his honor as China’s number one assassin. The two guilds were now even in score once more!
The next match was between Moonlight Beneath A Rock and Lin Bing Dou Zhe.
Everyone was expecting Lin Bing Dou Zhe, the current vice leader of Warsky Alliance, to take this match. In fact, he did destroy the warrioress with ease during the first battle. However, Moonlight Beneath A Rock soon defied expectations by instakilling Lin Bing Dou Zhe with a hurricane of combos during the second match, and toying him to death during the third match!
Everyone’s opinion of Purple Lily was refreshed after the match. Before this, everyone thought that Purple Lily only had two noteworthy super-tier players, Luo River God of the Capital and Moonkiss. Now though, Moonlight Beneath A Rock had proven herself to be a first-rate warrior that wasn’t to be underestimated!
With her victory, Purple Lily took the lead again with a 2:1 score!
The fourth match between Familiar Scent and October Rain turned out to be an epic match as well. At first, October Rain intentionally threw the first match in order to scout out her opponent’s abilities.
Starting the second match, she displayed her full abilities and toyed Familiar Scent to death with her kiting technique. The third match was just as one-sided as Familiar Scent never found a way to retake control and turn the tables on October Rain.
The score became 2:2. The 2v2 match would be the match that decided which team would advance to the semi-finals!
……
It was Luo River God of the Capital & Moonkiss VS Warsky & Farewell Song!
Luo River God of the Capital and Moonkiss immediately whispered with each other after they teleported onto the battlefield. The way they leaned into one another caused many spectators on their side to swoon on their feet. Of course, Warsky and Farewell Song were discussing battle plans in hushed voices as well, but all they inflicted were goosebumps to the spectators on their side.

My guild was transported to another world, but I'm just the Illusionist Enchanter
Skyforge, the virtual reality game of the 22nd century. The NPCs were mostly boring cookie cutter characters, but at least the political and military aspects were amazing. A great guild could build their base any way they wished, take over territories by converting the landstones and lead great armies in massive wars - or wager everything in the great arena. Well, but I'm just an enchanter with a secondary illusion skill tree. In other words, I'm totally dependent on my guild. But since thanks to this guild I could play the way I wish I don't mind. After we were all sent to another world I kind of regretted not being able to play god with the others.
