《VRMMO: The Unrivaled》Chapter 966: Ancient Divine Dragon Fossil

"Oh, is this the birth of a Divine Armament?" Murong Mingyue said with a smile, "Show us what it is already, Eve! It looks really powerful, and its hue looks similar to Lu Chen’s Purple Ying Sword!"
He Yi poked the black sword excitedly and brought up its stats. It was stunning. I should’ve known that the champion reward of the WEL internationals would be exceptional—

Introduction: In ancient legends, Dark Blade is the signature weapon of the devil race. After the steel of its blade was procured from the heart of a giant beast, it was fused together with abyssal frost gems and tempered in the Purgatory for almost a century before it was finally complete. The day it was born into this world, its owner slew tens of thousands of lives with it. That was how the sword came to be known as “Deadly Blooddrinker”.
Level Requirement: 190
Reputation Requirement: 350000
……
"Its Attack is way higher than the Seven Star Veluriyam Spear’s…" I inquired about He Yi’s opinion, "Do you want to equip this and retire your main weapon, or?"
My beautiful guild leader blinked at me before breaking into a smile. "Do you even need to ask? I’m going to sell this for money, of course! Li Chengfeng said he’ll buy any sword that’s weaker than the Purple Ying Sword but still OP, right? He can have this for 200k EUR. It’s time our dragon warrior retired his Heaven-grade spear anyway. This way, it won’t fall into our enemies’ hands."
I smiled. "Sure! Today’s Li Chengfeng’s lucky day, it seems!"
Did I say I wanted to give Chengfeng a discount earlier? Well, I changed my mind. This Dark Blade was absolutely worth more than 200k EUR. With an upper Attack of 3950, splash damage and lifesteal, the only existing weapon in the game that was comparable to it was my Purple Ying Sword. If we were to sell it at the auction house of Sky City, Warsky, Roaming Dragon, Li Le and more would break the bank to buy it. Even 5 million EUR wasn’t too big a number to buy an amazing weapon like this!
Splash damage + lifesteal + high Attack was a package that rarely came together in a weapon, much less one of the strongest weapons in the game right now. Provided that the player wasn’t wearing shit-tier equipment or using shit-tier skills, this weapon could single-handedly elevate them to a general—and I meant the kind that could solo a thousand players—status. There would be almost no one who could stand in their way, and that was before mentioning the lifesteal and splash damage. These effects were even greater on a Divine General as a matter of course!

Warsky, Roaming Dragon and Li Le’s best chance to obtain equipment like this was to qualify for the internationals and get a good placing, and yet the poor bastards couldn’t even meet the first requirement. I talked about the possibility of putting this weapon in the auction house earlier, but in reality, no one except the incredibly desperate or crazy would do that. Some equipment was considered priceless, and the Dark Blade was such an item. Moreover, He Yi was the CEO of Raincube, and Raincube’s technology had been continuously incorporated into Eternal Moon Corporation China branch’s systems as of late. With all that income, there was even less of a chance anyone could tempt us into trading away the equipment with money.
……
When Li Chengfeng heard He Yi’s declaration, he grinned from ear to ear while shouting, "Haha, hahaha! That Dark Blade looks so cool, and you’re going to sell it to me, guild leader? That’s awesome, haha! The guild leader is wise! The guild leader is forever young and beautiful!"
Not far away from him, Heaven’s Rain shot him a look. "What a sellout."
Li Chengfeng didn’t stop laughing like a madman. "Whatever you say, dear! Feel free to join my party once we return to our country, Little Rain, Yu Tong! I’ll show you all what it means to grind with a god, hahahaha!"
Diamond Dust teased him. "Yes, yes, that Dark Blade is amazing, but the real question is: Can you beat Lu Chen with it?"
Li Chengfeng clenched a fist and declared, "Lu Chen and I are brothers forever, and we’d never raise our arms against one another! Hence, your question is completely pointless!"
Yu Tong laughed. "You can just admit that you can’t beat him, you know. Invoking your bromance is only going to make you look worse…"
Li Chengfeng said, "Stop bashing me, dammit! What did I do to you girls? Anyway, I’m leaving for tea now, ciao~"
The girls wouldn’t stop giggling for a time.
……
Back on the stage, Murong Mingyue looked at me and asked, "Lu Chen, do you want to go before me?"
I shook my head. "Nah. You first, sis!"
"But why?"
"Cuz the real experts always show up last, right?"
"Pooh. Fine, I’m going…"
Murong Mingyue swayed sexily to the blue screen, confirmed her identity and tapped "Confirm" without hesitation. Unlike most of us, she wasn’t a believer of luck. She didn’t even care if she drew something unusable like Lin Yixin because a small profit was still a profit, not to mention that this entire trip was just a good time from the start until the end. She had gotten to visit Los Angeles, eat fancy food for free, sleep in a high-class hotel, ogle some sexy hunks, and even receive a prize for doing exactly nada throughout the entire tournament. What else could she ask for?
Ding! The wheel came to a stop, and her prize turned out to be a pair of boots surrounded by a halo of golden light. It was clearly a powerful piece of equipment despite its delicate appearance, but we still didn’t anticipate how good it was until Murong Mingyue brought up its stats. It was a Divine Armament! How could a freeloader possibly be so lucky!?

……
It was the same series as Lin Yixin’s Fire Goddess Battle Armor! Its stats were slightly inferior, but it was still plenty powerful. At the very least, it was much better than my Divine Martial War Boots even though they were both Cambrian Divine Armaments. Murong Mingyue’s karma must be off the fucking charts today!
However, Murong Mingyue didn’t look very happy with her draw. In fact, He Yi was the one cheering and hugging the priest’s shoulders affectionately, "Ohh! Well done, Mingyue!"
"I’m such an idiot…" Murong Mingyue whined.
"I’m taking these Fire Goddess War Boots, okay?" He Yi grinned from ear to ear.
Murong Mingyue haggled, "Sure, but you gotta pay me a couple million and treat me to shark fin soup and abalone every day…"
He Yi immediately glared at her. "Hmph! Don’t even think about it! You hold 10% of the shares of Raincube, money is the last thing you lack! Also, seriously? Who in the world can handle that much seafood everyday?"
Murong Mingyue disagreed. "In life, food is the key to happiness…"
He Yi: "..."
……
In the end, He Yi got the Fire Goddess War Boots without having to spend a single yuan. That was just how close they were. They shared practically everything with each other...
Finally, the girls looked at me in unison and said, "Expert, it’s your turn now!"
I nodded and rubbed my hands together nervously until the pain literally caused tears to form in my eyes. After I walked up to the prize drawing machine and scanned my retina, the wheel began spinning earnestly. I stared at the wheel closely. I knew that there were 96 prizes left to draw. I also knew that three of them were Divine Armaments, and the rest were a random assortment of Immortal-grade and Heaven-grade equipment. If I closed my eyes and tapped Confirm now, there was an extremely high chance I would draw an Immortal-grade item. That wasn’t what I wanted though. I wanted a Divine Armament!
I lay my eyes on that mysterious dragon-shaped reward that had caught my attention since the start of the draw. That’s right, that's what I hope to draw the most!
"You’ve been staring at the prize wheel for half a minute, dear. People are waiting, you know?" He Yi let out a chuckle. "I don’t think he’s ever looked at me or Lin Yixin this intently. Hmph!"
Beiming Xue seemed to read my mind though. "Oh my god, big bro, you can’t seriously be trying to draw that dragon-head prize, are you? The wheel completes a whole revolution in half a second! There’s no way you can draw it normally…"
Instead of replying, I calculated the time it took for the wheel to complete a revolution and the time it took to stop completely. Why am I doing this? It was because I was confident that I could make the needle stop within 5 slots of the dragon-head prize. While my in-game physical ability might not translate to my actual physical ability in real life, my reaction speed and good judgment could.
A second later, I tapped the confirm button with lightning speed. I had put so much strength into my finger that it passed through the hologram and nearly knocked over the device behind it!
Swhoosh!
The wheel slowed down. Just as I predicted it might, the needle was only 9 slots away from that dragon-head reward. The prizes passed by the needle only by one at excruciating speed—
Pa!
Every time the sound effect of a prize passing by the needle rang, I screamed inside my heart, "Keep going, brother!"
Pa!
It felt like my heart was about to come to a complete stop. I wasn’t even sure if I was breathing anymore.
Time seemed to freeze for everyone. The wheel spun slower and slower, but the needle was still two slots away from the dragon-shaped reward. I swore out loud, "Fuck…"
Pa!
The needle entered the next slot, but… it really didn’t look like the wheel was going to spin any longer.
"Oh no, it’s a Heaven-grade cloak! Expert, what happened to you…" Murong Mingyue was already assuming the worst. The rest of the girls looked depressed and said on my behalf as well. They thought that I deserved Archean Immortal-grade reward even if I missed the Divine Armament!
However, it turned out that the wheel still had a bit of power behind it. The needle moved past the Heaven-grade cloak and landed on the dragon-shaped prize, causing my heart to leap to my throat, "Okay stop! STOP!"
Ding!
System Notice: Player "Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand” has drawn "Ancient Divine Dragon Fossil"!
……
"Ancient Divine Dragon wuh?" I exclaimed in astonishment. The girls’ mouths fell open as well.
I touched the crimson fossil in front of me, and its stats stated—
Ancient Divine Dragon Fossil (Divine Rank Mount)
Stage: Unhatched
……
"Divine Rank mount… a DIVINE Rank mount…" I repeated in a daze. Then, I turned to He Yi, gave her a bear hug and screamed wildly, "You see that, Eve!? It’s a Divine Dragon! A Divine Dragon I can ride as a mount! I have a dragon mount now! HAHAHA!"
Eve shot me a beautiful smile, wrapped her arms around my neck and embraced me just as tightly. "Yes! You did it!"
……
Pa...
At the competitors' waiting area, Lin Yixin’s cup suddenly slipped through her fingers and hit the floor softly.
"Yiyi? You okay?" Sun Qingqing asked.
Lin Yixin looked away before answering, "It’s nothing. My hand slipped…"
Stranger of Three Lifetimes sighed audibly. "Pooh, the term ‘ill-fated relationship’ is practically made for you…"
Lin Yixin blushed bright red as she retorted, "Whatever! It’s what I chose, and I’m sticking with it!"

Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.

Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
