《Refining the Mountains and Rivers》Chapter 869B – The Best Method

In the cave, East Capital gasped for breath in deep heaving gulps. Sweat streamed down his body and there was an expression of shocked anger on his face as well as joy.
He had no idea where Qin Yu leapt out from. This person’s aura clearly wasn’t strong but he actually possessed numerous terrifying techniques. If it weren’t for the fact that he possessed a treasure of rebirth, he would have been slain just now.
Thinking of this, East Capital felt a pain in his heart. It wasn’t just because there was only one chance left to use that treasure, but also because of Qin Yu who was swallowed up within the Lost Boundary.
This person had to have many secrets hidden on his body. If he could suppress and plunder him, the harvests were sure to be amazing.
But now, there was naturally no chance of that happening.
After barely restoring some strength, East Capital flicked his sleeves and an array disc flew out, isolating his aura within the cave.
He needed time to restore his strength. It was best if no one found him in his current condition, otherwise an accident might occur.
This was a normal way of thinking that conformed to the brutal world of cultivation. It was the caution that someone gained after becoming a powerhouse. However, East Capital never would have imagined that it was exactly because of this that he tossed away his only chance of survival.
The space in front of him suddenly split open. East Capital’s eyes flew open as he watched Qin Yu rush out. His heart nearly came to a stop and he subconsciously roared, “That’s impossible!”
He was well aware of how terrifying the Lost Boundary was. Only after dying once and being reborn was he able to borrow the power of the treasure to activate it.
Once swallowed inside, even a Divine Dao powerhouse would have no chance of escaping. This was something he confirmed the first time he used it.
But what did he see now? Qin Yu had run out, and it had only taken several breaths of time. It was as if he had gone in and turned around to walk back out.
Qin Yu’s eyes immediately locked onto the panic-stricken East Capital and instantly realized what had happened. The flow of time within the Lost Boundary was different from that of the outside world.
Thus, even if he had been caught inside for a long time, the truth was that only a short period of time had passed in the outside world.
“Don’t kill me –”
Bang –
The voice came to a sudden stop. Qin Yu stared at East Capital’s corpse. This time, he wasn’t able to revive. After convulsing a few times he fell completely silent.
This time he truly had died.
Qin Yu relaxed. It seemed that this opponent’s revival ability could not be used continuously. Thinking about it, this was also reasonable, otherwise it would be far too heaven-defying!

His body flashed and he arrived at East Capital’s side. Because East Capital’s corpse was naked, Qin Yu soon found what he wanted.
A black ring was peacefully worn on a finger of East Capital’s corpse. A strange light flowed around it.
After sensing nothing was wrong, Qin Yu took the ring. Information spread directly into his mind. After closing his eyes for several moments he opened them back up again, happily surprised. He never thought he would have such an unexpected harvest.
Ring of Rebirth. It had one remaining use and was limited to those beneath the Origin God boundary. It allowed one to be resurrected immediately upon death.
In addition, after every rebirth one could borrow the strength of the ring to temporarily open up a Lost Boundary, dragging the enemy inside so that one’s rebirth didn’t fail.
When East Capital died and was reborn, everything Qin Yu experienced proved that this information was genuine.
The source of rebirth was a technique that only those of the Origin God boundary had the qualifications to use after consuming a massive amount of materials to arrange. But this wasn’t the point. The key was that Qin Yu was countless miles away from the Origin God boundary and was unexpectedly able to utilize this method…from this point alone, there was no need to explain how precious the Ring of Rebirth was!
But this wasn’t all that East Capital had to offer. His corpse lay sideways on the ground, blood trickling down. Qin Yu seemed to sense something as he furrowed his eyebrows in surprise.
In the next moment he flicked his sleeves and a buzzing sound filled his ears. Purpleback bluewing ants appeared, their scorching hot eyes locked onto East Capital’s corpse.
Without any need to order them, they flew forward. In just several blinks of an eye the corpse on the ground as well as the bloodstains all vanished.
The purpleback bluewing ants that had eaten their fill all fell into a deep slumber. They wrapped themselves up in their wings, light flashing around them and condensing into cocoons.
They were evolving!
Qin Yu was overjoyed. He had obtained the Monster Raising Mystic Art a long time ago, but all sorts of things happened afterwards that caused him to delay cultivating the purpleback bluewing ants.
Now, just swallowing up East Capital’s flesh and blood allowed them to break through the bottleneck of their evolution. Once they regained consciousness he would have the qualifications to continue summoning fragments of the Ancestral Monster to arrive. Then, the purpleback bluewing ants would experience a drastic increase in strength!
Qin Yu thought back to the sharp claws that East Capital had formed when he counterattacked. It seemed that this man only had the appearance of a human; his bloodline had long since been mixed up beyond compare.
He just didn’t know what sort of cultivation method this person practiced to unexpectedly refine so many different types of monster beast blood.
But these were only minor details. Qin Yu suppressed these thoughts and put the purpleback bluewing ants away. Then, he solemnly put on the Ring of Rebirth. In such a critical time there was no reason to hide away a treasure that could save his life.

He turned around and saw Zhou Hu’s wide eyes, looking at the place where East Capital had been devoured. Zhou Hu’s sworn enemy had been killed and turned into food within the bellies of an ant swarm. His revenge had been fulfilled and after a brief period of excitement, his emotions gradually turned to silence.
This dark and colorless gaze caused waves to appear in Qin Yu’s heart. He thought for a moment and slowly said, “Despite the bitter misfortune you suffered, you are still alive. This is what matters.”
“Alive?” Zhou Hu looked at the curled up Zhou Hui and his pupils shrank to reveal endless pain. “Sometimes, there are things more difficult than death.”
Qin Yu lightly said, “Perhaps I can make her forget everything that happened today.”
Zhou Hu froze in place. Tears gushed out from his gloomy eyes and he fell to his knees, bowing his head to the floor. “My lord, I beg you to please help her!”
…
Zhou Hui woke up from her coma. She felt her head ache and couldn’t help but cough. Then, she discovered she was being carried by her big brother and they were walking through the fog-shrouded mountains.
“Big brother, why are we here?”
Zhou Hu turned and smiled. “You’ve woken up. You suddenly fell unconscious, but luckily we managed to meet a kind-hearted fellow human. He told me about a safe place. As long as we can reach it then we’ll be safe.”
“Ah, that’s wonderful!” Zhou Hui straightened herself and rubbed her forehead. She felt as if something was missing from her mind. The last thing she remembered was lying behind a tree and seeing the form of several fellow humans in the fog…
A shudder came from the bottom of her heart and she trembled. She felt a cold chill all over her body, as if she had just crawled out of an icy cave.
“What is it?”
“Brother, I’m scared. It’s like I just had a very, very scary nightmare.”
“…Mm, don’t be afraid, big brother is here.”
“Big brother, you’re too good to me.”
“You’re still weak. Stop talking. Lie back down and rest.”
“Okay…then I’ll sleep for a little. Big brother, if you’re tired then call me…” Her voice gradually lowered as she fell into a deep sleep once again.
Zhou Hu held her hands tightly and murmured quietly to himself, “Big brother is useless and wasn’t able to protect you. I vow to you that from here on out I will do everything I can to defend you so that you will never be harmed again!”
…
Qin Yu looked away. This was the limit of what he could do. He couldn’t waste time to personally deliver them to Nine Nether Peak.
Turning around, Qin Yu looked at the blank region of the array formation. He narrowed his eyes, a cold light flowing within them.
By now, the fallen humans should have discovered that East Capital was killed. He would have to wait and see how they reacted.
Shua –
Qin Yu’s figure flickered and he restrained his aura, sinking into the fog like a shadow.
…
Blue Torrent opened his eyes. He frowned, unable to conceal the shock and anger in his expression.
East Capital had died, he had actually died!
He flipped his hand and a compass appeared in his palm. The compass was divided into 12 sections, and now one section had broken into pieces.
This compass was something used by the fallen humans. Every group was formed of 12 people and each cultivator in the group possessed one. During the execution of a mission, when someone died a corresponding region of the compass would shatter to warn those still alive.
“It’s Lord East Capital!”
“How is this possible!?”
Numerous shouts filled the air.
Hu –
Blue Torrent let out a light breath, his eyes as sharp as a hawk as he looked around. But, the Ascendant Bluegold Array Formation suppressed all auras. He wasn’t even able to find out where East Capital died.
But it was clear that in this seemingly peaceful fog, there was a terrifying hunter hidden somewhere, and they were this hunter’s target!
The atmosphere fell deathly silent.
A fallen human broke the silence. “Mister Blue Torrent, Lord East Capital has an honored status. We must find his killer!”
Blue Torrent shook his head. “No, we won’t do anything at all.” His eyes were cold and dense. “We will continue to break through the array formation. He will appear on his own!”
In the territory of the obams, the only people who would dare to kill a fallen human were those who were part of ‘Celestial Retribution.’ However, they had just arrived. Even if those people had obtained this information, it was impossible for them to get here so quickly. That left only a single remaining possibility – the one who killed East Capital was a powerhouse brought here by the person who set up the Ascendant Bluegold Array Formation.
Then it was obvious what this person’s goal was. This hunter killed off one of them to enrage them and incite them to chase after him, thus obstructing their breaking of the Ascendant Bluegold Array Formation.
Humph!
I won’t let things go as you wish!
Another fallen human said, “But Mister Blue Torrent, your safety…” If East Capital had been slain, the strength of this hunter could be imagined. It wasn’t necessarily someone they could resist.
Blue Torrent was expressionless. He looked at the thick fog around him and said, “It’s fine. I also want to see if this person dares to come here and try to kill me.”
The best method to stop them from breaking through the array formation was naturally to kill them!
