Chapter 17 - Precious Technique
The entire body of a creature like the Suan Ni, whose monstrosity and fearsomeness would shake even the heavens, could be considered a treasure trove of wealth and precious resources even after its death. In the face of such a goldmine, who would not be tempted to snatch the precious resources for themselves?
“Hmm, such a treasure really makes one’s eyes glow with greed. I really want to charge in and snatch away both its true blood and primordial precious symbols in one fell swoop.” A group of adolescent youths were eager to get in on the action.
“Even if that Suan Ni is gradually growing older, it’s still not something we are capable of handling. Do not act rashly and wait patiently.” The chief’s face revealed a concentrated expression and he solemnly warned.
“Haha, the spoils this time are truly great! The little guy really outdid himself this time around. It was thanks to him that we managed to avoid a bloodbath.” A group of people praised.
“Ah…” The little guy put on an embarrassed face and scratched his head in confusion. A loud noise emanated from the distance, drawing the attentions of Purple Cloud, Big Peng, and Little Green. They quickly ran over.
Boom!
Atop the clouds, a giant bird with scales that flickered with cold light swooped down. The great Green Scaled Eagle had appeared! With a great hong sound, it dropped a giant fire rhinoceros from its talons onto the village outskirts. Every so often, it would return to the village and drop large prey.
It has already been two months since the hatchlings were born. They bodies grew rapidly, and now, they were already two and a half meters tall. Their bodies grew stronger and more sleek, and when they fully extended their wings, they were almost capable of flight.
“Little Purple and the others, hurry up and grow up! When you guys grow up, take me with you so we can see what it looks like deep inside of the mountains!” The little guy stroked their necks, and their eyes flashed a glimmer of hope for what they could become one day. Afterwards, he began to examine the ancestral precious symbols of the three birds in front of him again in hopes of understanding their species’ unique and mysterious power.
Weng!
A light trembling sound rang through the air. A silver moon appeared at the center of his palm. It was gentle and holy, and clear splendor was scattered down from it. Then, a silver moon appeared behind his head, giving the little guy a rather mystical appearance.
During the last confrontation with Bei Feng, he only formed a part of the precious symbol into his palm and did not use the complete silver moon. Otherwise, its power would have been even more formidable.

The silver moon rotated and revolved around him. Pure white light scattered around him, making the little guy appear unspeakably holy.
“Yiya, I figured out a bit more now. On the moon, there’s a huge bird living within a palace. Could it be that that’s Purple Cloud, Big Peng and Little Green’s ancestor — that archaic demonic bird?” Shi Hao muttered to himself.
On that silver moon rested a tree, as well as a palace with mysterious and complex patterns. Currently, the little guy had already made some progress while studying the secret bone texts and was able to understand a bit more about the patterns.
He released the silver moon, and the complete precious moon disk was brandished in bright and shining light. The cry of a bird sounded from within the palace, and that tree began to shake and scatter out its clear splendor.
The silver moon did not look like it was constructed from symbols and appeared too real. It was as if the moon in the sky fell down; it was truly lifelike.
Qiang
A metallic sound rang out, sounding as if an ancient sealed precious artifact that had been collecting dust reemerged into the world. Keng qiang sounds sounded. Pure and holy light scattered down.
The silver moon circled around a five or six meter wide boulder. With a kacha sound, the boulder was split open, forming a clean and glossy cut. It didn’t disappear and continued to slice through two more boulders before fading away.
“Ya, last time it only managed to split a single boulder. Now it can cut three, how powerful!” The little guy opened his mouth in amazement.
This silver moon seemed to be quite a bit more concentrated than in the past. The symbols inside flickered about, and that palace and ancient tree could be seen again. They were vivid and lifelike. The power of this attack had increased by a large amount.
“The little guy is so strong! He can actually release a moon disk like this! I feel like he’s strong enough to fight the vicious beasts in the great wastelands already.” When a group of children came over and saw this, they all became envious.
“Wu, one can imagine just how powerful the archaic demonic bird was. If it passes down its complete imprint, this will definitely be a type of divine skill. However, it is uncommon to see one reach even this level,” the Village Chief said.
This type of powerful attack can be considered a precious technique, a technique that will usually be kept as a precious secret!
“After such a long time, my clan can finally be considered to have a precious technique!” Some of the elders were beginning to feel a bit emotional.

These types of precious technique would normally only be in the hands of powerful clans. If not for the fact that the little guy raised these Green Scaled Eagles and carefully researched them from a close distance, it would have been impossible for him to obtain it.
“We still don’t know what the current situation with the Suan Ni is like. If it really is dying from old age and we manage to obtain its remains, then that will mean that we can obtain another precious technique.”
“The stronger the archaic descendant species, the more it would protects its secrets, especially the primordial symbol imprints on its bones. It might destroy them before its death.” Shi Yunfeng said with a sigh.
This was precisely one of the major reasons why precious symbols were so rare. It was because there were just too few of them. They represented a race’s powerful inheritance, as well as a possibility to include a precious technique.
“I really hope that Suan Ni doesn’t destroy its own precious bones, as those are from a genuine archaic descendant … The precious technique it holds must be astonishingly powerful!” Shi Linhu said.
The Chief shook his head and said, “Don’t be too greedy. For our clan to unexpectedly obtain a precious technique is already quite fortunate.”
Four days later, a world-shaking roar rang out, shaking all of the mountains and valleys. All of the wild creatures trembled with fear and knelt down onto the ground. All of the vicious birds fled to the skies. Mountain boulders rolled about, and thousands of trees swayed back and forth as the entire forest trembled.
That Suan Ni came out from within the depths of the mountains and arrived in the surrounding area. It was on the verge of death and was seeking a place of rest. Its great might was absolutely terrifying.
“It really is about to die from old age. It will most likely happen in one or two days!”
Stone Village was bustling with activity. If they managed to obtain that Suan Ni’s corpse, then they would have obtained an enormous treasury. The quality of its true blood would be astonishing beyond belief, and that would truly be a great blood medicine.
“Wu, it really is an archaic descendant. If the blood vessels are pure enough, perhaps the true blood that will be used during the little guy’s five-year old baptism will depend on it.” Even Shi Yunfeng couldn’t remain calm anymore. He paced back and forth rather excitedly. He really wanted to go over and seize it into his hands.
“Send some people to carefully scout the area. We need to prepare well and be ready to leave at any time!” Several of the elders couldn’t sit still any longer either. They were nervous, excited, and worried at the same time. It was hard for them to calm down.
As for Shi Linhu, Shi Feijiao and some other robust men, they were even more anxious. Their eyes were already turning red.
“I saw that Suan Ni tear apart a bunch of vicious beasts, turning that area of the forest into a forbidden zone. There aren’t even any traces of beasts or birds left.”
A day later, a villager ran back to the village and reported the terrifying scene that he saw when he stood far away on top of a mountain peak.
Chief Shi Yunfeng suddenly turned his body around and said, “Let’s go, we need to start moving. However, we must carefully prepare this time, as we will most likely not be the only ones. There will be other creatures and villagers fighting over it.”
“Grandpa Chief, I am going too!” The little guy begged.
The villagers did not object, as his current fighting strength was already quite frightening. Although he was extremely young, he was already able to grasp a precious technique. When the key moment arrived, he could display his divine might.
Jiu Jiu
Big Peng, Little Green, and Purple Cloud gathered in front of him and rubbed their heads against his arm. They showed their intimacy and wanted to tag along as well.
“Be good, don’t be so noisy, it’s very dangerous within the mountains. You guys haven’t grown up yet, and cannot go take such risks. Wait for me here at home, when I come back, I’ll bring you guys to catch and eat some fish.”
Shi Hao tried to calm down the three little birds and also warned them that it was too dangerous. He needed to persuade the Green Scaled Eagle to help him again when the time was right. Because this trip to seek out the precious body of the Suan Ni was extremely dangerous, everything would go much smoother if he had the help of this powerful vicious bird.
“Let’s go, to the mountains!”
The group of people entered the mountains, holding their heads high as they proceeded towards the cemetery of the Suan Ni.
Hong!
The earth quaked and mountains shook. It was as if a great earthquake rumbled through the depths of the mountain forest. Rocks flew into the sky, and the mountains were all shaking. The scene was extremely terrifying.
“Chief, the Suan Ni is at the end of its lifespan. Before its death, it entered a cave and caused that place to collapse!” One of the villagers ran over from the front and reported the situation in a loud voice.
“Go, we need to hurry and charge forward!” Shi Yunfeng shouted.

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.
