《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 702 - More happy the more you hate

Mamoru Onizuka’s act of slowly jogging around the stage might seem comical, but no one could laugh. An old man who’s in his 80s could run this fast did not seem like a patient, and it also meant that Su Tao’s treatment was effective.
“I lost!” Amaki Hamasaki waited for the host to come up before he left the stage and bowed.
He had wholeheartedly accepted his loss. Compared to Su Tao’s superb medical skills, he did not just lose a tiny bit.
He finally understood the phrase: There is always someone better in the world. All his arrogance and pride only made him seem like a frog in a well.
The audience went into silence since no one had expected that Amaki Hamasaki would willingly bow his head and admit his defeat.
Suddenly, clapping resounded from the audience and slowly grew. Aside from cheering for Su Tao’s brilliant medical skills, they were also showing encouragement to Amaki Hamasaki for his courage.
Although not many people could see what was going on, even Tomohito had clapped along under this atmosphere. The result was evident; Su Tao won while Amaki Hamasaki lost. He might feel disappointed, but he wasn’t furious. On the contrary, he sympathised with Amaki Hamasaki. After all, when a giant competes against a dwarf, even if the dwarf loses, it was honourable even in defeat.
Mamoru Onizuka stopped his jogging and came to the center of the stage. He was satisfied with Amaki Hamsaki’s attitude. In the past, Amaki Hamasaki was too arrogant and prideful. Although it was backed up by his confidence, it also meant that he had overestimated his own abilities.
The host went onto the stage. She might be standing on the side of Amaki Hamasaki, but she still maintained an excellent stage presence and smiled. “Our competition will come to an end today, and please thank the two physicians for their participation. I believe that everyone has also gained a whole new understanding of TCM with this competition, so please clap for them once more!”
Drowned in applause, Su Tao, Amaki Hamasaki, and Mamoru Onizuka left the stage.
Su Tao couldn’t understand the host’s words, but he could roughly guess what she was saying. The host would definitely brag about Amaki Hamasaki to reduce the impact caused by the loss.
However, Su Tao had proven his own ability with his actions. He managed to tell Amaki Hamasaki that TCM came from China, and even if they’re using China’s culture to earn money, it only meant that they’re thieves. China’s physicians were capable enough to regain what they’ve lost.
When they left the stage, Amaki Hamasaki gave a deep bow and apologised, “I’m sorry, Mr. Su, for my rudeness. You’ve treated my master, and I will remember this favor to eternity. Secondly, I would like to warn you to be cautious of a person, Wang Guofeng. He’s also a physician in China, and it was he who gave me a call to deal with you.”

Japanese acknowledged those who were stronger than them. The moment you proved that you’re stronger, they would immediately see you in a new light and even take you as a role model.
Even if Su Tao couldn’t see through Amaki Hamasaki’s inner thoughts, the loathe he felt for the latter decreased, so he replied, “Thank you for telling me. I will take note of it.”
Amaki Hamasaki gave another bow to Su Tao before he supported Mamoru Onizuka and left.
After a brief pondering, Su Tao called out to Mamoru Onizuka, “Although I’ve temporarily created a source of Yin energy in your body to ensure that your Greater Yang Syndrome won’t relapse anytime soon, you should make a trip to Beijing. I have a friend, Ling Yu. I believe that meeting him will be beneficial to your condition.”
“Oh? Can I know why?” Mamoru Onizuka curiously asked.
“He comes from the Medical Dao Sect, and he’s proficient in the Rising Dawn Qi. It matches well with your Ghost Physician Qi, although a polar opposite. However, the Medical Dao Sect has their own trick to use their Rising Dawn Qi without harming their Yang energy source. If you can talk to him, you might find the trick to balance your Yin and Yang. Who knows, you might still be able to treat patients in the future!” Su Tao reminded.
Even if Mamoru Onizuka had been treated by Su Tao, it’s impossible for him to continue practising medicine. The moment he exhausted his Yin energy once more, he would damage his source of Yin energy. At that time, nothing would be able to save him.
Mamoru Onizuka was someone on the medicine path, and he naturally knew the reason after hearing Su Tao’s explanation.
Truth be told, he had been wanting to know the trick behind the Medical Dao Sect’s Rising Dawn Qi. Even Amaki Hamasaki knew about his master’s wishes, and this was the reason why he formed a private deal with Wang Guofeng, to begin with.
Mamoru Onizuka replied with a smile, “As a physician, I naturally hope to help more people. Since you’ve given me a suggestion, I will definitely make a trip to Beijing. Please help me inform that person beforehand. But the Rising Dawn Qi is unique to the Medical Dao Sect, so won’t they hide the secret since I’m a foreigner?”
Shaking his head, Su Tao smiled. “Other people might, but I believe that he’s not such a petty person. If he knows that you’re a patient and knowing the trick to the Rising Dawn Qi might be the only solution to your condition, I believe that he will reveal it to you.”
“I have tried to gauge the heart of a gentleman with my own petty thoughts!” Mamoru Onizuka immediately clasped his hands together and sighed in sorrow.

When Amaki Hamasaki heard the conversation between his master and Su Tao, he instantly felt guilty. Even his breadth of mind was incomparable to Su Tao’s.
Evidently, Su Tao naturally had his own selfish motives in doing so.
Since he had chosen to help Mamoru Onizuka, he might as well go through with it. His medicine factory would definitely face obstacles in the future when it wants to step into the international market, so he might be able to make use of Mamoru Onizuka at that time. After all, the latter would be owing him a great favour.
After separating from Mamoru Onizuka, Su Tao returned to his seat and started sorting through his medical box.
Sitting beside him, Kim Jung-ho smiled. “Your performance was simply at the peak of perfection. I’m afraid that in a while, many merchants will come looking for you with invitations.”
The moment he just finished speaking, a middle-aged man walked over to Su Tao and handed his name card. “I’m from a Chinese medicine research facility affiliated with Kyoto University Hospital. This is my name card, and I wonder if you’re interested in joining us? We’re ranked in the top three in the Chinese medicine industry, and if you’re willing to join us, we can provide you with a high salary.”
After Su Tao heard Kim Jung-ho’s translation, he suddenly thought about Yu Omuri. Wasn’t that where Yu Omuri previously worked at?
In a blink of an eye, they’re now inviting him?
How would this fellow feel if he knew about the schemes Su Tao had used to cause havoc in their Chinese medicine research facility?
Without Yu Omuri, the development of their products would definitely meet a dead end. Although they might be able to be maintained for a period of time by relying on the medicines that they’ve already produced, it’s not a permanent solution.
After a brief pondering, Su Tao smiled as he refused, “I’m sorry, but I’m not interested. Then again, thank you guys very much!”
Kim Jung-ho acted as the translator for Su Tao. When that man heard the translation, he was baffled as to why Su Tao wanted to thank them.
“It’s unlike you. Why did you thank him?” Kim Jung-ho curiously asked after that middle-aged man left.
“Yu Omuri was his colleague!” Su Tao winked his eyes at Kim Jung-ho with a smug expression.
Kim Jung-ho inwardly sighed. At this moment, Su Tao did not look like a Divine Physician, but a hypocrite who had succeeded with his scheme.
However, this had also made Kim Jung-ho feel real about Su Tao. After all, Su Tao was also a human, and he’s bound to have emotions. Aside from having a righteous side to him, he also had a cunning side.
“You’ve forged your reputation by defeating Amaki Hamasaki during the Chinese Medicine Discussion, and your trip to Japan can be considered perfect.” Kim Jung-ho bitterly smiled before he continued, “Especially when you treated Mamoru Onizuka. These bunch of people in the Chinese Medicine Discussion might hate you, but they can only hide it in their hearts.”
Shrugging his shoulders, Su Tao casually replied, “Let them go ahead and hate, I can’t be bothered about that. The more they hate me, the happier I get. When my medicine factory is established and strides into the international market, they will hate me even more.”
Kim Jung-ho sighed as he looked at Su Tao with a complicated gaze before he bitterly smiled. “Fortunately, this is only a side job of mine. Otherwise, I would definitely feel threatened.”
Gently patting on Kim Jung-ho’s shoulder, Su Tao responded, “My invitation still holds. My Chinese medicine facility welcomes you anytime.”
“Even if I starve to death, I will not accept your pity on me.” Kim Jung-ho replied with a somewhat unhappy tone.
For someone like Kim Jung-ho, it’s impossible for him to starve to death. Su Tao inwardly sighed and gave a smile to Kim Jung-ho, signaling that he was just joking.
Kim Jung-ho was actually someone with a strong ego, and Su Tao had touched his sore spot. Hence, Su Tao expressed his apology.
A smile rose on Kim Jung-ho’s lips as he reminded, “The Crown Prince is coming this way!”
“Mr. Su, congratulations on beating Amaki Hamasaki.” Crown Prince Tomohito said.
“Thank you.” Su Tao dealt with it carefully.
“Are you interested in joining our Imperial Physician Institute? It will definitely be our honour if you could join.” Crown Prince Tomohito straightforwardly threw out an offer.
“Thank you for your goodwill, but I’m a National Healer in China’s National Healthcare Committee, so it’s impossible for me to accept your invitation.” Su Tao rejected with a smile and continued, “In my view, Amaki Hamasaki might be a pretty good choice. It will definitely be a good choice if you guys can invite him.”
“Oh, that’s a pity, then!” Seeing that he couldn’t convince Su Tao, Tomohito wore a disappointed expression, then smiled. “Our Imperial Physician Institute will always be open for you!”
Su Tao smiled as he maintained his silence while inwardly pondering. Did he just come here to tempt me? Even if you promised me a gold mountain or silver mountain, I will never sell out my country!
Tomohito nodded his head towards Su Tao before he left. When he entered the vehicle, he instructed the advisor sitting on the front passenger seat, “Cancel the contract with Amaki Hamasaki!”
The advisor naturally knew what Tomohito was thinking. The royal clan had their pride, and they would only choose the best.
