Under the old tree of a lone yard, two men stood at the stone benches and conversed lightly while enjoying wine.
“The following matters should be quite simple, right?” said the man who looked younger.
“Since New Moon Land disobeyed the decision of us royalties, even if the people in that territory are all slaughtered, us royalties and Divine Sect will not care,” said Family Master Gu as he stroked his beard.
“How can I be so cruel?” The young man laughed.
“No, this is not cruelty. They are causing us trouble by being unwilling to migrate. Are they going to use their meager power to oppose Ancient Flood Dragon Person themselves? Laughable,” said Family Master Gu.
That young man held his wine cup and offered a toast to Family Master Gu, then gulped down the wine.

This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world.
