“A Yao Immortal! This is bad, run!” Lan Ling and the others were dumbfounded. No wonder the cultivators from Heavensight Academy would run with a mad-like fervour. It was all due to the Yao Immortal.

Every one of them was a cultivation genius, a cut above the rest. Previously, they had even joined forces to kill off a peak-level Yao King. However, a Yao Immortal was not the same as a Yao King. No matter how powerful, they may be, they were still incapable of fighting a Yao Immortal on an unfamiliar world.

Countless motes of starlight converged, forming a river of stars, which then charged forward to strike one of the chariots to tear it apart. Not a single one of the cultivators riding it survived.

“Not good! It’s a mid-level Yao Immortal! What is such a powerful yao beast doing here?”

Seeing several Human Immortals die to the Yao Immortal’s one attack, the remaining cultivators fell into a terrified state. They knew then that they would likely be incapable of escaping.

“You guys from Absolute Academy, stop running! There is no point in running. You guys should stop and help us fight it!” the students from Heavensight Academy shouted.

“You’re dreaming,” Tie Yuan replied with a scoff.

“If we die, you fellows won’t be able to escape either.”

“If so, you fellows should die first.”

Given their present situation, not even joining forces would help turn the situation around. The difference in power between the two sides was simply too gargantuan. With the students from Heavensight Academy behind them, they might still be able to make it out. However, if they were to deliberately stay behind, they would certainly die.

The Soaring Starsoul Dragon tore through space to close the distance once more. Next, it fired out a dragon breath and the same river of stars struck another chariot.

The chariot was destroyed and the cultivators on it died.

“Fight!”

The few students from Heavensight Academy who remained screamed. Knowing that they could no longer escape, they turned around, empowering the chariot to attack the Soaring Starsoul Dragon.

They were like moths flying into the flames. However, they simply had no other options.

In the end, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon smashed its way through their chariot, shattering it apart. As for the cultivators riding it, they were all reduced into a mist of blood. They had suffered a worse fate than the previous cultivators.

Seeing that, the students from Absolute Academy knew that a calamity had befallen them. In the face of a mid-level Yao Immortal’s pursuit, they were aware that they would be incapable of escaping, not even after going all out.

The Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s colossal body leapt forward and it opened its mouth to exert a suction force upon them. The suction force transformed into a stream of energy to quickly wrap around Hu Xian’er, who was in the rear. Next, she was pulled into the Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s mouth.

Earlier, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon had just killed its prey. Now, it had decided to devour them.

Seeing Hu Xian’er in danger, Lan Ling and the others were terrified. They wanted to go help her. However, there was no longer any time to do so. As for Hu Xian’er herself, there was no way she could escape.

It was then that Chen Feng, who had been flying away, turned around. His figure abruptly disappeared to re-appear before Hu Xian’er. A sharp blade, formed from bloody light, instantly streaked out to cleave apart the suction force wrapping up Hu Xian’er.

Next, Chen Feng took a step and his figure disappeared. Due to that, the attack from the Soaring Starsoul Dragon missed.

“You fellows, leave first!” Chen Feng waved his hand and Hu Xian’er’s figure flew towards Lan Ling and the others.

“Chen Feng, hurry up and run! You are no match for it!” Hu Xian’er cried and she wanted to rush back, only for Lan Ling to pull her away.

“Don’t worry about me! Just leave! I have a way to escape!” As Chen Feng spoke, the Blood Mustering Bead in his hand flew up to flare with bloody light, Next, a sea of blood enveloped the sky as a terrifying atmosphere of power spread out through space, blocking the Soaring Starsoul Dragon.

“No! We cannot just leave Chen Feng behind!” As someone with a fiery temper, Tie Yuan wanted to return and fight alongside Chen Feng.

“Guys, we should leave this place! Believe in Chen Feng. He possesses a Dao artefact. He will have no problems running away.” Lan Ling stopped them. Speaking of which, amongst everyone in the team, Lan Ling was the one who knew Chen Feng the most.

Besides, Chen Feng was someone who could take over East Dragon Island and wreak havoc in Void City. Those accomplishments could not have been possible without some trump cards.

“Fine, then. We’ll wait for him up ahead.”

They quickly came to an agreement. However, they failed to notice a slight distortion in their surrounding space. A change was coming over the powers there. In the end, they all disappeared. It was as though they had slipped into the void, leaving only grey smoke behind.

However, he did not have the luxury to ponder the issue. The Soaring Starsoul Dragon had already charged forward, smashing apart the barrier that the Blood Mustering Bead created. Next, a massive talon, accompanied by motes of starlight, grasped at Chen Feng.

In the face of the talon, Chen Feng was like a weak mosquito. However, by taking another step, Chen Feng made his way through the attack to appear above the Soaring Starsoul Dragon.

Chi! Chi! Chi! Chi! Chi! Chi!

The Blood Mustering Bead, having returned to Chen Feng’s hand, spun to create blood-coloured chains. The chains intersected one another in an attempt to restrain the Soaring Starsoul Dragon.

The bloody chains were created from the Blood Mustering Bead’s power of blood using the condensation technique for the Longevity Chains. They moved quickly, spreading out through the sky like a spiderweb in the blink of an eye.

“Break!”

With a roar from the Soaring Starsoul Dragon, starlight flashed and all of the Longevity Chains were shattered apart.

“Human, you are too weak.” The Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s voice directly erupted within Chen Feng’s mind, causing his blood streams to heave. Chen Feng felt as though his sea of wisdom would explode.

This was the power of one in the Earthen Immortal stage.

“I have even fought Ascendant Immortals before. A little lizard like you don’t have the qualifications to be putting on airs in front of me.” Chen Feng’s eloquently retorted.

With an abrupt pull of his palm, Chen Feng pulled countless strands of blood out from the Blood Mustering Bead. Following that, the many strands of blood surged forward to envelop the Soaring Starsoul Dragon.

Next, Chen Feng unfurled his domain and the power of wind and lightning, water and fire, flew forward in pairs to disappear into the void.

“Heaven and Earth occupy their positions! The mountains and lakes connect!”

Chen Feng’s hands kept moving, forming one hand seal after another and the four powers of Heaven, Earth, mountains and lakes furiously surged forth.

“Too weak. Your level is too low. This type of attack is useless against me.”

“Limitless Starlight, break!”

Like a streaking meteor, starlight exploded to break apart all the attacks from Chen Feng.

“Too weak? Not necessarily.”

Chen Feng wielded the Blood Mustering Bead in his left hand and the Lightning Bead in his right hand. Next, he furiously hurled both out. His ten fingers spread out before rapidly grasping, causing the two Dao artefacts to rotate. The power of blood and lightning surged out ceaselessly, converging upon Chen Feng’s palms as he channelled a secret technique to form a stronger attack.

“Two mid-grade Dao artefacts. Not bad. They’re mine.”

“Starsoul Execution!”

A blade of light – formed from starlight – slashed forward, hacking the attack that Chen Feng fired out to continue shooting towards Chen Feng.

Chen Feng stood his ground. A massive maelstrom suddenly appeared before him to devour the blade of light, which failed to create even a splash.

“A top-grade Dao artefact!”

The Soaring Starsoul Dragon uttered, a sound of delight in its voice. It did not feel afraid of the top-grade Dao artefact.

“Roar!”

An even stronger aura emanated out from the Soaring Starsoul Dragon as energy fluctuations from grand dao powers spread out. Its aura was already infinitely close to that of a high-level Yao Immortal.

Incredible! Chen Feng was secretly stunned. Next, he stretched his hand out. There on his palm was a compressed maelstrom, which rotated rapidly. It was none other than the top-grade Dao artefact, Deepsea Maelstrom.

Thanks to the past few years spent in cultivation, Chen Feng was already capable of utilizing the Dao artefact. Of course, Chen Feng himself was uncertain how much of its power he could wield. Thus, now was the time to test it out.

If Chen Feng could unleash the Deepsea Maelstrom’s full power, one contact was all it would take for it to rip the Soaring Starsoul Dragon to shreds. At that very moment, however, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon was only trapped within the maelstrom, thrashing about furiously. The unending roars it released caused Chen Feng’s mind to ring.

After some time, streams of blood floated out from the maelstrom and Chen Feng became overjoyed. It would appear that the Soaring Starsoul Dragon would not be able to hold on for much longer.

Unexpectedly, as Chen Feng was caught up in his feelings of joy, the aura of a high-level Yao Immortal emerged from the maelstrom. Before Chen Feng could respond, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon abruptly broke out to appear before Chen Feng, its huge talon shooting out to grasp Chen Feng.

Due to his carelessness, Chen Feng ended up getting captured. Immediately, he felt himself falling into a sealed dimension. The Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s power poured in and every one of Chen Feng’s bones began cracking. Judging by the situation, it would not take long before Chen Feng was utterly shattered to pieces.

I was careless. Chen Feng sighed. He had originally assumed that the situation was already under control. Unexpectedly, during that critical moment, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon was able to advance to the high-level Yao Immortal stage.

It managed to advance without a Heavenly Tribulation. That is strange.

“Human, die! This top-grade Dao artefact will be mine. As a gesture of thanks, I will crush you into minced meat!” The Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s voice rumbled and it exerted more power into its talons, causing even space to crack.

Sigh! I still have to utilize an Immortal artefact in the end. Chen Feng sighed and a semi-transparent lance appeared before him. The very instant it appeared, the sealing powers around Chen Feng disappeared and he was able to move once more. Next, he grabbed the lance and stabbed with it, causing a bloody hole to appear upon the Soaring Starsoul Dragon’s talon. The bloody hole then quickly expanded in size.

The Soaring Starsoul Dragon cried out in a wretched voice. Immediately, it fired out a blade of light to cut off its own arm before rushing backwards, putting a lengthy distance between itself and Chen Feng. Dread filled its eyes.

In the face of a top-grade Dao artefact, the Soaring Starsoul Dragon had revealed greed.

However, in the face of an Immortal artefact, there was only pure unadulterated terror.
