It was not wrong to show greed in the face of Immortal artefacts. However, to do so when one’s survival was in question was just suicide.

The Soaring Starsoul Dragon was quick to react. It had quickly made a decision. Instantly, it turned around, ripping through space to flee. Surprisingly, it decided not to continue fighting Chen Feng.

It left just like that. It’s quite the cautious fellow. Chen Feng laughed.

Shaking his head, Chen Feng then turned and flew to the spot where Lan Ling and the others had disappeared. He did not recklessly enter the spot. Instead, he sent his soul power forward to investigate. His eyes shone with light and it did not take long before he found something unusual about the place.

Hazy, grey-coloured energy currents surged about and the power of space there twisted chaotically. It would appear that someone had utilized magic powers to tamper with the space there.

Chen Feng considered for a moment before flicking his finger to send out a finger blast. The finger blast shot directly into the void there, disappearing from sight.

It must be a dimension. Chen Feng then took a step forward to enter the hazy, grey-coloured energy currents.

Next, Chen Feng felt the space around him twisting. It was a different feeling compared to the spatial passageway that he would often use in the past. This was not a teleportation process.

The space around him remained twisted, but Chen Feng had arrived at a strange-looking place. The streams of energy around him were somewhat chaotic and his vision was limited. Everywhere he turned, he saw chaotic streams of energy.

Carefully sensing his surroundings, Chen Feng then found that he was still on Planet Voidsoul.

I am still on Planet Voidsoul. So, I must have entered a naturally-occurring magic array. Or perhaps, something similar to a lost forest, Chen Feng mused.

After pausing for a moment, Chen Feng then shouted all of a sudden, “Come out!”

“Ke ke ke! Youngster, you are no ordinary fellow. To think that you can detect my existence.” A skinny old man suddenly appeared in front of Chen Feng.

Appearance wise, it seemed as though there wasn’t even a piece of flesh on the old man’s body. His eyes were sunken and only a layer of skin covered his skeleton. He really did look like he was just a walking skeleton. Faint, green-coloured flames could be seen dancing within his eyes. Looking at the old man, Chen Feng first wondered if this was a cultivator from the Ghost Plane.

A high-level Human Immortal. No, there are grand dao powers within him. Is he an Earthen Immortal? Chen Feng’s eyes were focused and he assessed the old man, various speculations going through his mind.

“Magic Eyes of Darkness. Kid, you are someone from the Demon Plane? You don’t look like it. Are you someone from the Dark Plane? You also don’t look the part.” The old man was also staring at Chen Feng, the flames in his eyes dancing as he mumbled.

“All right, then. Who are you? Did you see my friends?” Chen Feng said coolly, thunder rumbling as his voice spread forward to assail the old man.

“He he he he! Who am I? There is no need for you to ask that. Kid, the way I see it, you must be a cultivator from Eternal World, no?” The old man waved his hand, indifferent towards Chen Feng’s attack. However, the flames within his eyes danced again and he displayed a faltering look. “No, you do not have the aura of Eternal World. You also don’t seem to be from the Immortal Plane. Strange, how strange. Kid, you have quite the mysterious background.”

Chen Feng was shocked. Unexpectedly, this old man would possess such a sharp eyesight. He could actually perceive so many things from his body.

Next, Chen Feng’s aura suddenly transformed, his aura and vitality retracting as his existence within this world seemingly disappeared, drifting into another layer of space.

“Eh?” The old man grew even more shocked. However, he quickly snickered. “Not from the essence worlds and not from the Immortal Plane. Are you perhaps from one of the Myriad Celestial Planes? The Celestial Heartless Plane? Or the Celestial Zenith Plane?”

“Old man, you sure know a lot. You actually know about the Celestial Planes. I am very curious about your origins.” Chen Feng’s eyes shone and he continued, “Enough with the nonsense. Why did you appear here?”

Weng!

The Blood Mustering Bead spun within Chen Feng’s hand and blood-type grand dao power kept gathering, seemingly ready to burst out at any moment.

“A mid-grade Dao artefact! It even contains blood-type grand dao power. Not bad, not bad. It has the potential to become an Immortal artefact.” The old man broke into a grin, revealing his dazzling white teeth.

Chen Feng then flicked his finger and a ball of blood flew out to attack the old man.

That was an attack with the combined might of both the power of blood and lightning. Add some hand seals from Chen Feng, the power behind this attack grew so formidable that even a high-level Human Immortal would have to exercise caution when faced with this attack.

However, in the face of the attack, the old man simply opened his mouth and inhaled to devour the ball of blood and lightning. It failed to harm him in the slightest. In fact, he licked his lips and said, “Not bad, but the power is not pure enough.”

Chen Feng’s eyes flashed with light and he said in a strict tone,” Looks like you’re treating me like I’m an amusing object.”

Boom!

The Deepsea Maelstrom flew out from Chen Feng’s hand, becoming like the most mysterious black hole in the entire universe. With that one move, it seemingly devoured and shredded all the energy within the surrounding space.

Seeing that, the old man finally revealed a bigger reaction. The flames within his eyes danced and his skeletal body moved into action. Profound power of laws swirled about and space began wriggling, becoming like a piece of paper folding up. Next, it twisted and a spatial crack appeared. Chen Feng felt the Deepsea Maelstrom falling into a state of chaos. The Deepsea Maelstrom had seemingly entered a special space and Chen Feng gradually lost the ability to sense it.

Not good! Chen Feng’s sea of wisdom spun into action and a stream of longevity laws emerged from his Longevity acupoint to re-establish a connection with the Deepsea Maelstrom. Next, space shattered and the Deepsea Maelstrom spun out to land in Chen Feng’s palm once more.

What a formidable spatial power! It nearly shifted away my top-grade Dao artefact. Chen Feng’s eyes flickered. This old man was simply too mysterious.

“The Longevity acupoint!” The flames within the old man’s eyes instantly burned with increased ferocity. They were like two balls of fire suddenly growing in size, emitting raging flames.

“So, you are a member of the Longevity Clan. Ha ha! No wonder I keep getting a feeling that there is something weird about your aura.” The old man kept staring at Chen Feng. He looked excited.

What? Chen Feng was shocked and killing intent rose within him. This old man was simply too mysterious. To think that he could actually identify that he was from the Longevity Clan.

Chen Feng was in a very tenuous situation. He could not afford to have his identity as a member of the Longevity Clan be exposed. At least, not before his cultivation base rose to a certain level. If news of this were to spread, calamity could befall him and even the Longevity Tower would be snatched away.

Thus, killing intent rose up within Chen Feng. Not to mention, it was a very strong killing intent.

“There is no need to direct such killing intent at me. I bear you no ill will. On the contrary, I want to borrow your power.” Having sensed the killing intent from Chen Feng, the old man snickered.

“Borrow my power? I don’t believe you. Since there is no longer any reason to talk things out, just attack! I don’t believe you can keep blocking my attacks.” Chen Feng’s eyes shone with light and the top-grade Dao artefacts, the Deepsea Maelstrom and the Treasured Ocean Pearl appeared in his hands at the same time. Formidable energy fluctuations from grand dao laws spread out as their powers emerged, causing space to shake without cease. Countless cracks appeared and turbulent streams of void energy flowed out.

“Two top-grade Dao artefacts!” The two flames within the old man’s eyes danced with an even greater ferocity.

“Please hold. We really need to talk this through properly. I really bear you no ill will. See, your friends are fine,” the old man hastily said, waving his hand. The space before him fluctuated and images appeared in mid-air.

The images were of Lan Ling and the others, who appeared separated. To Chen Feng’s surprise, they were all bombarding a magic array. Additionally, it would appear that they were giving it their all.

“What are they doing?” Chen Feng was surprised. The top-grade Dao artefacts in his hands continued to gathered power. Chen Feng did not believe this old man in the slightest. Rather, Chen Feng was looking for the opportunity to take him down.

“That’s what I meant when I said I need your help. Truth be told, I am presently trapped within a wondrous magic array. It can only be destroyed from the outside. I have already discussed it through with your friends. As long as they can help me break free, I will give them some benefits, the type that will move them.”

“Youngster from the Longevity Clan, I am in need of your power. What do you think?” the old man finally asked.

Chen Feng quickly pondered the issue, wondering how much of that was the truth.

“I am still unable to believe you,” Chen Feng said.

The old man considered it for a moment. Then, he extended a finger to send a pure-white strand of flame out. The strand of flame had an unassuming appearance. However, when Chen Feng saw that, he became shocked.

“Sky Fire! You are a member of the Skyfire Clan?”

“That’s right. You are a member of the Longevity Clan while I am a member of the Skyfire Clan. Now that we know each other, there should be no other reason for you to feel worried, right?” The old man flicked his finger to collect the flame.

“Fine, tell me the details.” Chen Feng nodded as he quickly agreed.

A surprised look of delight flashed across the old man’s face. “I am a starter-level Earthen Immortal. I have been imprisoned here for 100,000 years now. By now, I no longer have much power left in me. Even after breaking free, I will not be able to pose much of a threat to you fellows.”

Chen Feng nodded, not saying anything in response. However, he was inwardly scoffing. As if he would believe a single word the old man said.

“Tell me about the benefits.”

“As long as you can break the magic array imprisoning me, I will give you fellows a great fortune.”

“I want specific details.”

“I can make a Heart Oath. I have with me a map. On it is the location for one of my grotto-mansions on this planet. It contains some Immortal crystals and treasures. As long as you help me break out, it is yours,” the old man said, bringing out a map which he tossed over to Chen Feng.

Accepting the map, Chen Feng merely gave it a glance before keeping it. “My friends should have received this same map, right?”

“Yes. However, they are not the same map. You should know, I have more than just one grotto-mansion here. How about it?”

“Fine, make the Heart Oath.” Chen Feng nodded.

Next up, the old man actually made a Heart Oath before leading Chen Feng to a magic array. It was then Chen Feng’s turn to break the magic array.

Before getting started on breaking the magic array, Chen Feng investigated the magic array in detail. He determined that the arrays there were truly complicated and sturdy. The one who set it up must be at least a high-level Earthen Immortal. However, after activating all of his eye power to investigate it, Chen Feng was able to find some clues.

The corners of Chen Feng’s mouth curled into a sneer.
