《Everlasting》Chapter 864 Fierce Battle

It was at that very moment that Chen Feng’s Spiralling Sword Beam arrived.
Puchi!
It tore a large hole through the body of the wyrm.
Instantly, the pressure on Sun Ming’s team fell.
Sun Ming and the others quickly jerked their heads backwards.
Sou! Sou! Sou!
Three more sword beams slashed forward. They contained the power of wind and lightning, blazing fire and drifting clouds respectively. With a flash, the three sword beams hacked the wyrm into pieces and a power of destruction erupted through the wyrm’s body to utterly snuff out its vitality.
“Incredible!” Sun Ming cast a shocked look at Chen Feng, who gave off a look of nonchalance. Maintaining that look of nonchalance, Chen Feng dashed forward to swing his sword without respite and one water yao after another died under his might.
“Is he really a Human Immortal?” The look of shock on Ma Heng’s face remained.
All of them were high-level Human Immortals. Despite its small size, their team could already be considered as a fairly formidable team amongst all the cultivators aboard the ship. And yet, they had nearly died to the wyrm earlier. Unexpectedly, Chen Feng would be able to so easily kill off the wyrm.
The gap between them was clear to all.
“I finally understand. No wonder Chen Feng is always unwilling to join us. He is actually an expert capable of exploring all on his own.”
“We are too weak.”
“Makes sense. We need to improve ourselves further. Everyone, be careful. Kill more water yaos and Deepsea Spectres. This is a good opportunity to get some harvest.”
“My injuries are almost completely healed up. Let’s attack!”
Chen Feng’s actions of killing off the wyrm did not scare off the other water yaos. Instead, more of them charged towards him.
As for Chen Feng, the rate at which he was attacking grew increasingly fast and savage. In the end, he displayed a type of meteor sword technique that contained the sword intent of stars. Sword light transformed into meteors, each and every one of them capable of killing off one of the water yaos.
With a banging sound, the group of meteors spread forward and the water yaos that were attacking Chen Feng were all sent flying. Instantly, the area around Chen Feng was cleared.
“Another expert has appeared. He is very strong, but I do not know his origins. I am actually incapable of determining his cultivation state.”
“Yes. His sword technique is very unfamiliar. A Human Immortal should not be this strong. And yet, he doesn’t look like an Earthen Immortal either.”
“Is he perhaps someone from Star Sect?”
“The sword technique that he is displaying sure looks like it.”
“I know him. His name is Chen Feng. Appearance wise, he looks like a loose cultivator, but he is in fact, from Artefact Sect.”
“So, he is someone from Artefact Sect. No wonder. Only, aren’t the cultivators from Artefact Sect proficient in using magic treasures? His sword technique is truly formidable. It is so unpredictable.”
This Meteor Sword Technique was something that Chen Feng had only just comprehended not too long ago. At that very moment, though, he displayed the technique smoothly, killing off over 100 water yaos in just one breath’s worth of time. When he came to a halt, seeing the results of his attacks shocked Chen Feng himself.

“Fellow friend, how do I address you? I am Fire Dragon Daoist, from Seacloud Trade Association.” A clump of flames appeared beside Chen Feng before abruptly spreading out, transforming into a mighty-looking cultivator.
“Chen Feng, from Artefact Sect,” Chen Feng said smilingly. With a stroke of the Longevity Sword in his hand, he fired out an arc of light and a water yao that was over 100 metres away was hacked into two and its yao core automatically flew into Chen Feng’s hand.
“So, you are a friend from Artefact Sect. I wonder? Why are you heading to the ocean?” Fire Dragon Daoist asked smilingly.
Chen Feng felt amused. To think that he would have the heart to be saying that at a time like this.
“I’m just out to have some fun.” Chen Feng’s figure then flashed, disappearing from sight.
Seeing Chen Feng disappear, Fire Dragon Daoist shook his head.
“When did such a talented cultivator emerge from Artefact Sect?”
A formidable Deepsea Spectre has appeared! Chen Feng’s divine sense spread out once more to scan the entire ship and he saw a Deepsea Spectre taking over the body of a high-level Human Immortal.
Instantly, Chen Feng knew that things were seriously not looking good for this ship.
More than half of the cultivators on the ship had been either wounded or killed off. Although the number of casualties on the water yao’s side was higher, the number on both sides were not the same. The number of water yaos and Deepsea Spectres was practically limitless while the number of cultivators on the ship was limited.
Yet another high-level Human Immortal was possessed.
Chen Feng’s eyes focused and his figure flew forward like the wind as he charged in a certain direction.
Bang!
A slap from Chen Feng sent a cultivator flying to the side. Due to that, the cultivator grew enraged. Just as he was about to retaliate, he saw Chen Feng fighting against a black silhouette.
“Deepsea Spectre!” The cultivator grew astounded and he felt fortunate. If Chen Feng had not knocked him aside, the Deepsea Spectre would have taken over his body.
“Why is this Deepsea Spectre so powerful? It should already be as strong as a peak-level Human Immortal.” Looking at the black silhouette, the cultivator felt a chill running down his heart.
The power of a half-step Earthen Immortal. There was a somewhat solemn expression on Chen Feng’s face. This Deepsea Spectre was very powerful. Under normal circumstances, only an Earthen Immortal would be able to deal with it. Rather, if this Deepsea Spectre was able to execute a sneak attack, it could even possess an Earthen Immortal.
Even one such Deepsea Spectre would be able to throw the ship into utter chaos.
Chen Feng displayed his sword techniques and sword light kept flashing about, enveloping a radius of 10 zhang. However, the Deepsea Spectre was truly like a spectre. It kept flitting through the sword light, sometimes transforming into a shadow and sometimes disappearing into thin air. Chen Feng had to rely on his formidable divine sense to track down the Deepsea Spectre.
Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!
The Deepsea Spectre shook again and again, causing tens of black silhouettes to appear all around Chen Feng, making it impossible to tell which one was the real one.

Magic Eyes of Darkness!
Black light flashed out from Chen Feng’s eyes. Next, the sword in his hand slashed out swiftly with the sword intent of wind and lightning.
Bang!
All of the black silhouettes disappeared, leaving only one black silhouette, which evaded the beams of sword light.
Water, shadow, darkness and nether. Four types of powers. Without cultivating an eye technique, it will be very difficult to find it. Although Chen Feng was incapable of defeating it quickly, he did not feel concerned. He was not worried that the Deepsea Spectre would be able to turn the situation around.
“Friend, I'll help you!”
Two cultivators suddenly stepped forward to assist him. They attacked the Deepsea Spectre, one from the left and one from the right.
Although Chen Feng was uncertain if the two cultivators were sincere in their attempts to help him, he did not want to see them die. Thus, he said, “Be careful. This Deepsea Spectre possesses the strength of a half-step Earthen Immortal.”
“Does it? I’ll have to witness it for myself.”
“Half-step Earthen Immortal? Surely not.”
The two cultivators were high-level Human Immortals with quite a decent level of strength. Thus, they did not think too much about Chen Feng’s warning. In fact, they thought that Chen Feng had wanted to obstruct them in order to stop them from obtaining this Deepsea Spectre.
Sou! Sou!
In the face of the two cultivators’ attacks, the Deepsea Spectre merely flashed out once and the two cultivators’ arms were severed. Chen Feng had been able to clearly see two beams of black light flashing out from the black silhouette. Even so, there was not enough time for him to stop them.
Sou!
The black silhouette flashed forward again to enter one of the cultivator’s body.
Sigh! He’s a goner. Chen Feng sighed. There was nothing else he could do but to quickly rush forward and pull the second cultivator back.
As expected, the Deepsea Spectre successfully took over the first cultivator’s body and he instantly attacked Chen Feng.
“Be free.”
Chen Feng swung his sword and sword beams surged out. He was displaying his killer move, the Storm of Sword Beams. The possessed cultivator was instantly shredded into pieces by the sword beams and a black silhouette flew out. Surprisingly, it was able to remain unscathed despite the might of the move from Chen Feng.
“Impressive. If so, let’s compare!” After that, Chen Feng’s figure grew faint as it simply disappeared into thin air. He was utilizing his Void acupoint, the power of darkness and the Longevity Steps. With that, Chen Feng believed that he would be able to compete with this Deepsea Spectre.
Sou! Sou!
The ensuing battle was a peculiar one. Black light and sword light kept flashing about in the air as the sounds of collisions and blows being exchanged rang out, accompanied by sparks and energy fluctuations.
Images of Chen Feng and the Deepsea Spectre flashed about non-stop as they shifted their positions again and again. Two cultivators and several water yaos who happened to enter their place of battle were instantly killed off.
Shua!
Finding a weak point in the Deepsea Spectre’s movements, Chen Feng utilized the Longevity Steps to overcome the Deepsea Spectre’s speed before landing a sword strike upon the Deepsea Spectre’s body.
Before Chen Feng could feel overjoyed with his attack, however, the black silhouette rapidly turned limp, transforming into a stream of water.
“Waterstream Substitution Technique!” Chen Feng quickly turned around to swing his sword, slashing space with it.
Shua!
A beam of black light descended from the top to attack Chen Feng’s head.
Shua!
Chen Feng’s figure slowly disappeared.
Storm of Sword Beams!
Sword beams erupted and the floor flew up as well. In the end, the Deepsea Spectre was completely enveloped by the sword beams. As a result, it suffered from serious injuries and its strength plummeted.
“Collect!”
Chen Feng did not want to kill it. A Deepsea Spectre with the strength of a half-step Earthen Immortal possessed a high research value. Due to that, Chen Feng kept the Deepsea Spectre into the Longevity Tower.
Huh! That took quite some effort. Since Chen Feng had not utilized any of his stronger magic treasures, the fight had not been easy for him.
As he was too preoccupied with fighting the Deepsea Spectre earlier, he had not been paying attention to his surroundings. Only then did he realize that the colossal ship had been – in merely a few breaths’ worth of time – completely transformed. There were less than one tenth of the cultivators left alive on the ship while the number of water yaos grew increasingly high. Chen Feng could even see an entire group of black silhouettes hovering around.
Further inspection revealed that large holes had appeared throughout the ship and water yaos were continuously making their way inside. Even the waters from the ocean were beginning to pour in.
On the other side, the number of cultivators in Sun Ming’s group had fallen from six to four. They had their backs placed against each other as they defended themselves, their bodies terribly wounded and bloody. Even their rate of breathing had become ragged. For cultivators at their level, this meant that they had over exhausted themselves.
There was only half a step between them and death. No. There was less than half a step. A peak-level Yao King had set its sights on the four of them. Not to mention, there were also the Deepsea Spectres lurking around in the dark.
Sigh! I’ll help them. After considering it for a moment, Chen Feng gave in. He had spent the past few days chatting with them. It was something of a fateful connection.
Chen Feng rapidly rushed forward, swinging his sword to display the Volcanic Power move to stop the charging water yaos. With a wave of his hand, he then brought the four of them into the domain he released.
Sou!
Suddenly, a lurking Deepsea Spectre found its chance. Black light flashed as it shot into Chen Feng’s body.
