As Chen Feng speculated, the two of them did not immediately start fighting over the immortal sword. Instead, they discussed it over beforehand. After that, one of them rapidly moved forward to stand before the sword while the other one turned around and took several steps back, where he unsheathed his sword to stop the other two.

Those two are on the same side, Chen Feng mused.

The two sides quickly got into a fight. The star wanderer was able to fight the other two Ascendant Immortals without falling into a disadvantageous position. He displayed his sword techniques, becoming like fish in water to stop the two Ascendant Immortals without giving ground.

As for the other star wanderer, he stood before the sword with his eyes closed, not even stretching his hand out at it.

Heh! To think that this fellow would have this move up his sleeves. He is actually trying to communicate with the immortal sword. Chen Feng grew relieved. Trying to make an immortal sword submit by communicating with it was not something that could be done quickly, not unless that person was the destined one.

Weng!

A wave of sword energy surged outwards and the star wanderer’s body staggered. Stepping on air, he rapidly backed away while his arms moved to create rays of sword light, which blocked the wave of sword energy. By the time he stabilized himself, his face had turned pale while his whole body was covered with sword wounds. Some of the wounds were so deep that his bones could be seen.

“This immortal sword will likely only submit once the True Immortals come. Tower, wouldn’t it be bad if the True Immortals take action?” Chen Feng felt somewhat concerned again.

“There are likely even better items in their eyes. Besides, if they decide to take action, we’ll just have to kill a True Immortal.”

“Sigh, you make it sound so easy.”

“Don’t worry, kid! I know what I am doing. Just stay put and watch the show. These fellows are not to be underestimated. You will be able to gain some strokes of comprehension by watching their fight.”

“Their combat power is just about the same as mine.” Chen Feng felt somewhat disdainful of the fight.

“But their levels are higher than you. The way they utilize laws is not something that you can match. Enough, more people have come.”

“It’s Prince Blood Edge. He’s here to join the party as well. Even Patriarch Heavenly Sword and Patriarch Hegemon Sword are here. Tsk, tsk. These fellows will have nothing to show for their efforts coming here.” Chen Feng peered ahead.

It was only to be expected. Patriarch Heavenly Sword and Patriarch Hegemon Sword were pure sword cultivators. They were very sensitive to sword energy. Thus, seeing the immortal sword there, their eyes turned bloodshot.

Chen Feng, though, knew that they had come here for nothing. He had already decided on taking the immortal sword.

After considering it for a moment, Chen Feng then sent them a secret vocal transmission. He ignored Prince Blood Edge.

The two Patriarchs had lived for a long time now. Thus, they were able to maintain a calm demeanour after receiving Chen Feng’s secret vocal transmission. Next, they began communicating with Chen Feng.

“You two should just stand aside and study it. Do not approach it. This immortal sword is not something that you two can collect.” Chen Feng was very straightforward. On the other side, Patriarch Heavenly Sword and Patriarch Hegemon Sword did not retort. They were pure sword cultivators, after all. They were naturally capable of sensing how powerful the immortal sword was.

They considered it. Although they could not get it, they would still have the chance to study it once Chen Feng had obtained it. Thinking about it that way made them feel better somewhat.

Prince Blood Edge did not recklessly take action. He first circled around the immortal sword a few times. Then, a stream of blood light descended from the sky to envelop him and his aura kept growing stronger, rising to the peak-level Ascendant Immortal stage in just moments.

He sure is advancing quickly. Chen Feng nodded. Back then, after killing off the white-clad cultivator and Xian Yun, both at the True Immortal stage, Prince Blood Edge managed to obtain quite some benefits. Unexpectedly, his cultivation level had secretly advanced.

Due to that, Prince Blood Edge became the strongest cultivator there. Laughing maniacally, he charged towards the immortal sword.

“A cultivator from the Blood Plane! Stop him!” Seeing that, the other Ascendant Immortals had to take action. All of them charged forward, joining forces to block Prince Blood Edge’s charge.

“Scram!” Prince Blood Edge shouted and bloody light swept out to send them all flying. After his cultivation base rose to the peak-level Ascendant Immortal stage, Prince Blood Edge’s combat power had risen far above those Ascendant Immortals.

“This sword is mine!” Prince Blood Edge stretched his hand out to grab the sword. Next, bloody light collided ceaselessly against the sword energy. Prince Blood Edge’s whole body shook and stream after stream of bloody light kept descending from the distant Blood Plane.

Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!

Prince Blood Edge’s body kept exploding and blood sprayed out like blossoming flowers. Streams of sword energy invaded his body, wreaking havoc there to destroy his vitality.

Prince Blood Edge, however, bitterly endured. By enduring this, he would be able to collect the immortal sword. Only, the other cultivators would not give him the opportunity to do so. Already, several Ascendant Immortals were charging at him.

“Please help me!” Prince Blood Edge laboured to utter those words.

Patriarch Heavenly Sword and Patriarch Hegemon Sword hesitated, but they then received a secret vocal transmission from Chen Feng.

“Help him.”

“Ha ha ha! Prince Blood Edge, if you can get the immortal sword, don’t forget to give us some benefits!” Patriarch Heavenly Sword laughed and swung to fire out a rainbow-like stream of sword energy, which blocked two Ascendant Immortals. Patriarch Hegemon Sword also took action to block the other two Ascendant Immortals.

“Thank you! I will be sure to repay you two well.” Seeing the two Patriarchs taking action to help him, Prince Blood Edge breathed a sigh of relief. Next, he began going all out to collect the immortal sword.

“Chen Feng, surely you aren’t actually planning to let Prince Blood Edge have the immortal sword?” Patriarch Hegemon Sword secret asked.

“Don’t worry, I know what I am doing.” Chen Feng was not feeling worried. Even if Prince Blood Edge were to obtain the immortal sword, the worst-case scenario would be for him to kill off Prince Blood Edge as well.

“Prince Blood Edge, hurry! We won’t be able to hold on for much longer!” Patriarch Heavenly Sword shouted. It was true. The two of them had a terribly hard time holding back the Ascendant Immortals. They were all at the same cultivation level, after all. Going one-on-two against cultivators of such calibre was highly taxing for them.

Prince Blood Edge did not reply. He no longer had the strength to even speak.

Sou! Sou!

More cultivators arrived. One was holding a halberd while the other rode a flying sword. Upon arriving, the two of them inspected the place before quickly coming to a decision.

“Let’s deal with the blood cultivator first.”

The two newcomers’ thought process was very simple. Prince Blood Edge had the strongest cultivation base amongst all present. Only by joining forces to kill off Prince Blood Edge would they have a chance to snatch the immortal sword

“Prince Blood Edge, we won’t be able to help you anymore than this!” Patriarch Heavenly Sword shouted.

Boom!

As the two newcomers were about to charge forward, Prince Blood Edge was finally incapable of holding on anymore. His whole body swelled before exploding into a skyful of bloody mist. However, the bloody mist did not disperse away. Rather, it rapidly converged to form a human body, Prince Blood Edge’s body. There was an extremely unsightly expression on Prince Blood Edge’s face.

Even the two newcomers who were planning on attacking Prince Blood Edge were affected by the resulting wave of sword energy. Although the wave of sword energy did not kill them, it did leave them in a highly wretched state.

Woah!

Prince Blood Edge’s aura began falling. In the end, it fell to the high-level Ascendant Immortal stage. Even so, he was still the strongest cultivator there.

“Let’s stop for now. It looks like none of us are destined for it!” the cultivator from the Lightning Plane suddenly shouted.

“Finish him off first! He is a running dog of the Immortal Plane!” the halberd-wielder abruptly bellowed.

“Yes, he must be waiting for reinforcements. I agree on killing him first.” Patriarch Heavenly Sword was the first to agree.

“If so, what are we waiting for? Let’s attack!”

Surprisingly, Prince Blood Edge was the first to attack, followed by the halberd-wielder and Patriarch Heavenly Sword. As for the others, they spread out to cut off the Lightning Plane cultivator’s escape route.

“Although everyone wants to ascend to the Immortal Plane, they are clamouring to kill cultivators from the Immortal Plane whenever they meet one. What an amusing matter.” Chen Feng, who was inside the Longevity Tower, laughed.

“The Immortal Plane is aggressively expanding, causing the other worlds to feel fearful of them. In such cases, though, they will end up getting beaten up.”

“Tower, isn’t it about time to take action? Something unexpected might happen if we wait for too long.”

“The others who are lurking about are still not taking action. Why rush?”

“What? There are others lurking around? Who?” Chen Feng was shocked.

“Did you think we’re the only ones who thought about doing this? There are three groups in total. Check it out,” Tower said, waving his hand to create a screen before him. Displayed on the screen were three different places with hidden cultivators.

“Thankfully, none of them are True Immortals. Even now, the True Immortals are not revealing themselves. Do they not care for this Immortal artifact?”

“It’s not that. They are likely searching for even better treasures.”

“If so, what are we waiting around for? Let’s quickly collect this immortal sword and go look for other treasures.”

Just as the Ascendant Immortal from the Lightning Plane was about to be beaten to death, the reinforcements from Heavenly Firmaments Palace arrived. There were six of them in total. Two were Ascendant Immortals from the Lightning Plane while the other four exuded faintly-discernible demonic energy.

“Unexpectedly, the Immortal Plane would so openly collude with the Demon Plane. If so, when we ascend in the future, will we be entering the Immortal Plane or the Demon Plane?” Patriarch Heavenly Sword shot out words of ridicule.

“Fellows, you should retreat. This Immortal artifact is not something that you fellows can obtain,” one of the Lightning Plane cultivators said.

At that moment, the two parties were quite well matched. Should they continue to fight, Heavenly Firmaments Palace might be able to gain the upper hand, but it would be a pyrrhic victory. Additionally, there was no telling what might happen next.

“The way I see it, you fellows are the ones who should retreat. This is Eternal World.” Patriarch Heavenly Sword scoffed.

“One low-grade Immortal artifact each,” the Lightning Plane cultivator said again.

“Heh! A low-grade Immortal artifact? Do you think you’re sending off beggars here?” one of the star wanderers retorted with a derisive grin.

“I have two Lightning Beads here. Although their quality is not high, they are quite effective when used to temper the body. Please check it out.”

Sou! Sou!

Two Lightning Beads flew into the two star wanderers’ hands, one each.

“Deal! Goodbye.” The two star wanderers were quick to make up their minds. After receiving the items, they immediately left. As for whether or not they had truly left the place, there was no way to tell.

“Looks like you fellows don’t want to leave. If so, we’ll have to see which is stronger.” With the departure of the two star wanderers, the other party had lost a portion of its strength. Thus, Heavenly Firmaments Palace decided to attack.

“You think we’re afraid of you?” Patriarch Heavenly Sword refused to budge.

“Enough with this rubbish! This immortal sword is mine!” Suddenly, a spherical bead appeared above the immortal sword, where it hovered there to radiate a milky-white curtain of light. The curtain of light enveloped the immortal sword. As a result, the immortal sword that was unleashing streams of sword energy promptly released a thrumming sound before falling silent, becoming like an ordinary sword.

“Not good! That’s the Sword Securing Bead!” All the cultivators there exclaimed.

The Sword Securing Bead was a very special magic treasure. Forged by experts, it did not possess any offensive powers. All it had was one function, and that was to restrain swords.
