《Everlasting》Chapter 1074 Floating Island

Since entering this place, there had been countless pathways everywhere they went, extending out like a maze of sorts. Additionally, they also hadn’t encountered any dangers along the way. At present, however, it would appear that the situation was about to change.
“If there are no pathways ahead, we will fall into the nothingness below once our powers are exhausted.” Xue Luosha frowned.
“Not a problem,” Chen Feng said and the Longevity Wings unfurled. Silently, he then flew forward into the darkness of space.
Xue Luosha considered it for a moment before following suit. She maintained a short distance between herself and Chen Feng. Given the present state of their surroundings, Chen Feng’s Longevity Wings gave him a very favourable position.
After one joss stick’s worth of time, Star Monarch Waterway and Flame Monarch Scarletflow arrived at the very spot that Chen Feng and Xue Luosha had been standing on.
“They managed to get a head start on us.”
“That Xue Luosha is quite strong. Only, that kid from the Longevity Clan is somewhat peculiar.”
“Let’s go!”
The space there was even colder, with a greater quality of emptiness. Moreover, there was also a formidable suction force coming from beneath them. It was as though there was an incomparably massive monster down there, opening its mouth to exert a suction force to devour them. One careless mistake would lead to them falling down and devoured.
Xue Luosha’s body was encased in a thick layer of blood energy. Both Xue Luosha and Chen Feng had been flying forward for quite some time, but they were still incapable of finding any place to land.
“Someone’s following us,” Chen Feng said.
“How do you know?”
“Naturally, it’s because I left some magic arrays behind. I think it must be Star Monarch Waterway and the others. Hopefully, they’ll end up dying here.” Chen Feng smiled.
“If we can’t find a place to land, all of us will die here,” Xue Luosha said coldly.
“It doesn’t matter to me. Even if I have to fly here for one year, it will still not be an issue,” Chen Feng replied calmly.
“It doesn’t matter, is it? If so, you can just stay here forever.”
Water-like ripples spread out from a certain part of the dark and cold space before a human cultivator walked out from it.
Witnessing the peculiar scene, Chen Feng and Xue Luosha exchanged glances before spreading out, one to the left and one to the right.
“Is he a combat puppet?”
“He feels like a living human to me.”
“You two are very lucky. You are the first group to arrive here since the establishment of this space. As a reward, I will utilize my strongest power to kill you.”
This human cultivator who had emerged out of nowhere had a life-like face. His body, highly compact and resilient, exuded a vigorous life force and his eyes shone with a spiritual light. All of that showed that he was a normal cultivator.
Even so, Chen Feng felt something amiss about him.
“I will let you know who you will be dying to. I am Yuan Yi.” This human cultivator with an unknown origin brandished a sword as he dashed forward to attack Xue Luosha.
Instantly, Chen Feng’s eyes lit up, focusing on the cultivator. He did not move forward to help. Instead, he simply watched from the side.

The Longevity Sword Technique. There are also traces of the Longevity Steps. Looks like Xue Luosha did not lie to me. There are indeed some connections between this Heavenly Immortal and the Longevity Clan. Chen Feng nodded.
But he is probably not a living person. This is a clone technique from the Longevity Scripture. Only, some changes have been made to it. Looks like this fellow is not to be underestimated.
“What are you spacing out for? Hurry up and attack!” As Chen Feng was carefully assessing the cultivator, the fight went badly for Xue Luosha, who was already on the verge of defeat. Thus, seeing Chen Feng only observing from the side, she became enraged.
“Don’t worry.” Chen Feng then took a step forward, leaving a series of after-images as he joined the fight as well, a sword in hand.
Chen Feng also displayed the Longevity Sword Technique and he worked together with Xue Luosha to suppress this cultivator.
Thanks to that, Xue Luosha breathed a sigh of relief. “This fellow is very strong. His combat power is on the same level as Star Monarch Waterway.”
Chen Feng, on the other hand, did not say anything. Instead, his whole body released a pulse, his aura becoming one of unparalleled grandeur. Xue Luosha was not affected by the aura at all. Instead, she grew puzzled. She did not understand what Chen Feng was trying to do. They were in the middle of a fight here. It was not the time to be putting on an air of grandeur.
What happened next, however, left her shocked. Yuan Yi’s body, which had been releasing a sky-vaulting atmosphere of war, abruptly froze. Then, he became like a punctured balloon as his essence, energy and soul power rapidly fell.
Shua!
Sword light flashed out and Yuan Yi was cleaved into two. Not only did the Longevity Sword Technique contain a vigorous life force, it could also snatch away the life force of others. As for Yuan Yi, a confused look flashed across his face as the essence, energy and soul power within his body rapidly flowed away.
“You managed to kill him just like that?” Only then did Xue Luosha recollect herself.
“He is not an actual cultivator. He is just a special puppet that contains a strand of the Heavenly Immortal’s will. It is something like a clone,” Chen Feng said.
“Earlier, the sword techniques he used looked like the sword techniques of your Longevity Clan.”
“What nonsense! You said it yourself back then. There is a connection between this Heavenly Immortal and our Longevity Clan. What’s so surprising about him being proficient with the Longevity Sword Technique?” Chen Feng said, a look of disdain on his face.
“… … …” Fire sprayed out from Xue Luosha’s eyes.
“Now is not the time to be arguing. Our pursuers are catching up. How much longer can you endure?”
The battle earlier had taken place in the emptiness of space. As Chen Feng had the Longevity Wings, he was fine. Xue Luosha, on the other hand, was feeling somewhat pressured.
“I can still go on,” Xue Luosha said, bringing out a blood-red medicinal pill, which she swallowed. Next, Chen Feng sensed a formidable power swelling within her body.
“That medicinal pill is quite good,” Chen Feng said smilingly. Next, his eyes flashed with light to send a great void storm far ahead. With a wave of his hand, tens of thousands of motes of starlight flashed outwards as well and they intertwined to create a river of stars.

“Still not enough.”
Chen Feng took action again and a river surged forward before turning invisible.
“Let’s go.”
After setting all that up, the two of them left.
Not long after the two of them left, a small warship charged through space to arrive there. There were four people aboard the warship, Star Monarch Waterway, his two attendants and Flame Monarch Scarletflow.
“Brother Waterway, looks like we are a little late. There was a battle here just now,” Flame Monarch Scarletflow said, a smile on his face.
“The battle is already over and they even set up some restrictive arrays.” Star Monarch Waterway swung his hand forward and a starlight sword slashed down. A series of booming sounds rang out as he carved out a passageway through the restrictive arrays before them.
“These restrictive arrays are quite well-made. They cannot stop us, but they can delay us somewhat. That’s their objective.” Flame Monarch Scarletflow was also taking action, swinging with a fiery-red sword.
…
“They have slowed down. However, this is not the way to go. They have a pretty decent warship. It is just a matter of time before they catch up to us.” Chen Feng turned around, grabbed Xue Luosha, and sped up.
“If that’s the case, why are you offending them?”
“Tsk, tsk, that’s an interesting way of putting it. Everyone who entered this place is a competitor. Any problem we can throw their way, no matter how small, is a good thing.” Chen Feng laughed.
“Are you not afraid you might end up burning yourself?” Xue Luosha scoffed.
“Just consider it as training.” Chen Feng’s eyes suddenly became black in colour, leaving a clump of flames dancing within each.
“Finally, a place to land,” Chen Feng said. Releasing his grip on Xue Luosha, he sped up again. With a few forward flashes, he left Xue Luosha behind.
Only then did Xue Luosha notice a floating island in the distance.
Although Chen Feng’s actions left her furious to the point of gnashing her teeth, all she could do was to speed up as well. When she finally approached it, she noticed that, even though the floating island was small, it was still at least a hundred times bigger compared to the previous island.
Chen Feng had chosen to not step on the island. Instead, he circled the island.
Seeing that, Xue Luosha also chose not to act recklessly. What happened earlier was still fresh in her mind.
A stream of light flew out from Chen Feng’s eyes, but a thick layer of light rose up around the island and the eye power that Chen Feng sent out swiftly dissipated.
“The small thatched building we found earlier housed a half-step Heavenly Immortal. Could this small island house the Heavenly Immortal’s legacy? Though, will it be so easy to discover? I don’t buy it,” Chen Feng said, smiling.
“Let’s go inside first. Our pursuers will be arriving soon.” Xue Luosha grew somewhat anxious.
“I’m not strong enough to do that.” Chen Feng displayed a cautious behaviour towards the island. First, he had tried to probe it using his eye technique. In the end, he came to the conclusion that this barrier of light had no weaknesses.
Despite saying that, Chen Feng had still chosen to mobilize the Divine Sun Needle. It was a pseudo-Divine artifact with a highly formidable offensive power. A searing light flashed out and the barrier of light shone with a riot of colours. Following that, the Divine Sun Needle returned to Chen Feng’s palm.
“How is it?”
Chen Feng’s actions had been too fast and Xue Luosha failed to notice anything of note.
Chen Feng was about to say something when his face suddenly sank. Next, his figure dashed to leave a ripple upon the space there and the sword beam shooting towards him was blown up.
The warship carrying Star Monarch Waterway and the others had arrived.
“Looks like we found something good. Could it be the corpse of a Heavenly Immortal?” Star Monarch Waterway said with a smile.
“We’ll know once we go inside.” Flame Monarch Scarletflow jumped out from the warship, the flaming sword in his hand slashing towards Chen Feng.
Star Monarch Waterway’s two attendants then moved forward to block Xue Luosha while Star Monarch Waterway himself sent out a stream of light from his glabella. It was none other than the key used to open the portal earlier.
Everything had happened quickly, but Chen Feng did not choose to take Flame Monarch Scarletflow’s attack head on. Instead, he relied on the Longevity Wings’ speed to evade.
In the end, Star Monarch Waterway’s attempt failed and the stream of light returned into his glabella.
“Maybe all four keys are needed,” Star Monarch Waterway then said. Hearing that, Flame Monarch Scarletflow stopped attacking Chen Feng and sent out a stream of light as well.
After that, they turned to look at Xue Luosha, who maintained an impassive expression as she too, sent out a stream of light.
It was then that a fourth stream of light emerged from Star Monarch Waterway’s palm. And so, all four streams of light fell upon the barrier of light.
“Looks like the two fellows from the Eastern Division of the Immortal Plane failed to escape.” Chen Feng sighed.
Weng!
The barrier of light abruptly flashed, its light becoming like that of fire to instantly suck in Xue Luosha, Star Monarch Waterway and Flame Monarch Scarletflow. Chen Feng’s face flickered and he noticed a mysterious power pulling them into the island.
Chen Feng grew so highly infuriated, he felt an impulse to swear. Unexpectedly, the key would truly be able to unlock the restrictive arrays there.
There must surely be some good items inside. I will have to quickly rush in and not let them snatch all of them away. Also, Xue Luosha has to face Star Monarch Waterway and Flame Monarch Scarletflow alone. Those two fellows are very dangerous. Having reached that line of thought, Chen Feng sent the Divine Sun Needle out again. Earlier, he had managed to pierce out a small hole on the barrier of light with it. That was enough for Chen Feng.
However, Star Monarch Waterway’s two attendants stood before Chen Feng, exerting formidable auras that locked down Chen Feng to stop him from moving forward.
“Those who stand in my way shall die!” Killing intent billowed out from Chen Feng.
