《Everlasting》Chapter 1133 Reinforcements

Every time Chen Feng utilized a secret technique, a look of excitement would flash across the high-level Heavenly Immortal’s eyes. If he could have those secret techniques, how much more powerful would they become?
Boom!
A lance swing sent Chen Feng flying and threads formed using void powers tied up Chen Feng.
“Now that it’s come to this, are you still not going to come quietly?” The Heavenly Immortal stretched his hand to grab Chen Feng.
“Seal!”
Seeing his opponent arriving before him, Chen Feng shouted and the surrounding space abruptly pressed together to form a dimension, shackling his opponent who was caught in the centre of the dimension.
Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!
Chen Feng and the Heavenly Immortal broke free from their respective restraints at almost the same time. Just as they were about to clash again, several formidable auras descended upon the very spot they were at.
Sensing that, Chen Feng grew apprehensive. He thought that the Heavenly Immortal’s reinforcements had arrived. However, the Heavenly Immortal was even more apprehensive than Chen Feng. He had sensed that these newcomers were not his companions.
“Here!”
“Young Clan Lord, fret not! We’re here!”
Even before this person arrived, his attack had already landed on the high-level Heavenly Immortal’s body. Six battle lances pierced his body at the same time.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of banging sounds rang out as six bloody holes appeared on the high-level Heavenly Immortal’s body.
“Oh, no!”
The high-level Heavenly Immortal began feeling regretful. He regretted not focusing on capturing Chen Feng right from the start. At that very moment, even safeguarding his own life was an issue, let alone attack.
Due to the situation, the high-level Heavenly Immortal – with six battle lances still piercing his body – wanted to flee. But it was then that the Longevity Tower, which had remained still all this time, suddenly smashed down on him, blowing his body up into a cloud of blood. The Blood Mustering Bead in Chen Feng’s hand then flew out to utterly devour all the blood.
“So, you’ve been watching the show all this time.”
The Longevity Tower transformed into a stream of light to fly into Chen Feng’s body.
“That’s just a talisman made by an Ageless Gold Immortal. Unravelling it is a piece of cake,” Tower said haughtily.
Chen Feng was smiling to himself as well. There was an extra-terrestrial creature of chaos at the Gold Immortal stage inside the Longevity Tower. By utilizing a secret technique, Tower could control it to fight even a Gold Immortal. How did he forget about it?
“Greetings, Young Clan Lord!” The six cultivators who appeared just now knelt down on one knee towards Chen Feng. They displayed a respectful behaviour and there was excitement on their faces.
“Are you fellows from the Boundless Corps?” Chen Feng asked.
“I am Tie Zhen, a Flag Captain of the Boundless Corps. These five fellows are my subordinates.”
This cultivator was a high-level Heavenly Immortal. Without the order from Chen Feng, he remained on his knee, not showing any dissatisfaction on his face.
“Get up,” Chen Feng said with an impassive face. At that very moment, his demeanour had undergone a world-shaking transformation. Every move he made appeared highly noble and his words seemed capable of bringing the world to heel. It was not something he learned by himself. Rather, it was something innate, residing within his very genes.

“Affirmative!”
All six stood before Chen Feng, but they dared not raise their heads. Even though Chen Feng’s cultivation level was low, the six of them could clearly sense the air of pressure that Chen Feng was exuding.
It was the suppressive effect of the genes. Chen Feng was a member of the most exalted branch of the imperial family, after all.
“Who are the Deputy Commanders of the Boundless Corps right now?” Chen Feng asked.
“At present, the Boundless Corps has eight Deputy Commanders. They are Eldest Young Master, Third Young Master, Cyan Wolf, Grandfire, Heavenly Phoenix, Heavensroc, Nine Wings and Grandmist,” Tie Zhen answered, not hesitating in the slightest.
Chen Feng nodded. He knew all eight Deputy Commanders. The First Young Master and Third Young Master were his elder brothers. Cyan Wolf and Grandfire were members of the Longevity Clan. As for Heavenly Phoenix, Heavensroc, Nine Wings and Grandmist, they were all extra-terrestrial creatures of chaos. Their genes were even stronger when compared to the Heaven-defying races.
“What about the Lord Commander?” When Chen Feng asked that, his heart grew somewhat excited.
“The Lord Commander has been spending all this time in cultivation retreat. The affairs of the Boundless Corps have since been under the Eldest Young Master’s control. This time, The Eldest Young Master dispatched a total of 12 Flag Captains, 100 Senior Captains and countless Dark Soulsmen, all for the sake of finding Young Master,” Tie Zhen said.
“To think that even the Dark Soulsmen would be dispatched. Not to mention, countless? But the guys from the Limitless Corps actually managed to find me first.” Chen Feng’s voice grew somewhat strict. Tie Zhen and the others trembled and they could not stop themselves from kneeling once more. At the same time, they thought to themselves, the suppressive air from Chen Feng was already comparable to that of the Deputy Commanders.
This is the one who wields the Longevity Tower!
“What is your objective here?” Chen Feng said.
“To escort Young Master back to the Celestial Longevity Plane.”
“Humph! The way I see it, before we reach the Celestial Longevity Plane, we will be intercepted and killed off. Now, listen to my orders. Follow me and act as by bodyguards. For the time being, we will not be returning to the Celestial Longevity Plane. As for you fellows finding me, do not inform anyone about it.”
“Affirmative!”
Tie Zhen and his team accepted Chen Feng’s orders without hesitation. At the same time, they also hid their auras and changed their appearances to pretend to be Chen Feng’s bodyguards.
With the addition of these six cultivators, the small team of pursuers who came after Chen Feng was wiped out. However, Chen Feng was aware that, if the Boundless Corps could send forth so many cultivators to search for him, the Limitless Corps would surely be able to send just as many cultivators after him. More, due to the allure of the Longevity Tower, it would not just be the Celestial Longevity Plane. The other Celestial Planes and forces would not let him go as well.
The danger had arrived. And as long as he remained alive, he would be incapable of avoiding it. The only exception would be for him to become strong enough to kill off all those cultivators who wanted to trouble him.

Next up, Chen Feng continued exploring the City of Dead Souls. The addition of the six bodyguards brought with it pros and cons. Having them gave Chen Feng a certain degree of protection and safety. But with so many people, the chances of his pursuers finding them also increased.
Thirty years after Chen Feng entered the City of Dead Souls, the waves of dead souls began decreasing before completely receding.
Chen Feng also received the contact signal from the disciples of the Six Daos Sword Faction. Sneering, Chen Feng then decided to head towards the signal.
Three days later, Chen Feng met up with the cultivators from the Six Daos Sword Faction. Of the 100 cultivators who were sent forth, only 60 remained. As for the six Heavenly Immortals, only four remained.
“The number of casualties is very high,” Chen Feng said.
“Chen Qing is here!” When they saw Chen Feng, they exclaimed. They didn’t think that he would survive the pursuit of the Heavenly soldiers from the Ministry of Heavenly Tribulation.
“Senior Brother Chen!”
Some of them stepped forward to greet Chen Feng. Even the four Heavenly Immortals stepped forward.
“What happened after I left?” Chen Feng asked.
“The wave of dead souls broke through the fortress and many people died. In the end, we joined forces with the cultivators from other fortresses to kill a way out.”
Chen Feng nodded. He could imagine what happened. Even if he had stayed behind, he would not have been able to help out much. In the face of the tsunami-like attacks from the wave of dead souls, the fall of the fortress was just a matter of time. These cultivators were lucky that they could break out.
“Is the mission not yet completed?” Chen Feng felt somewhat puzzled. He had already killed off several of their objectives. As for the Beads of Dead Souls, they were quite easy to obtain.
“There are just two more left. These two have become Heavenly Immortals.” The leader of the Heavenly Immortals moved forward.
The Heavenly Immortal’s name was Sword Saint Windflow. He was also the strongest amongst the six Heavenly Immortals.
“Chen Qing, who are they?” Sword Saint Windflow turned to look at Tie Zhen and his team.
“They’re the followers that I have just taken in,” Chen Feng replied coolly.
“Followers!” Sword Saint Windflow cast a curious look at Tie Zhen and the others. There were both shock and perplexment in his mind. The six cultivators were as immeasurable as the great ocean. He was actually incapable of determining their cultivation levels. That could only mean one thing. All six had higher levels than him.
He was already one of the best amongst the starter-level Heavenly Immortals. For these six cultivators to be of a higher level, that would mean the mid-level Heavenly Immortal stage. Six mid-level Heavenly Immortals! Although all six did not release any aura out, Sword Saint Windflow could feel a sense of pressure.
A True Immortal accepting Heavenly Immortals as followers. This was something of a joke. But if it was not a joke… Sword Saint Windflow found himself incapable of pondering any further.
“We should hurry up and finish our mission. If there are only two left, it should be very easy,” Chen Feng said.
“Yes. The whereabouts of the last two have been exposed. They are hiding in a dangerous place.”
After saying that, Sword Saint Windflow sent Chen Feng a secret vocal transmission. “Senior Brother Chen, there is something I want to talk to you about.”
Secretly contacting Chen Feng, Sword Saint Windflow addressed Chen Feng as ‘senior brother’. It was his way of recognizing the fact that Chen Feng’s strength had surpassed him and his companions.
“Forget it. There is no need to tell me about it. This time, I am only here to finish the mission for contribution points,” Chen Feng replied. He did not want to hear what Sword Saint Windflow had to say. At the same time, he secretly sneered.
“But.” Sword Saint Windflow grew somewhat apprehensive and he wanted to say something.
“Humph!” Chen Feng grunted and Sword Saint Windflow felt an invisible power enveloping him, causing even his heart to stop beating. He had a feeling. If he were to say another word, his heart would blow up.
Secretly sighing, Sword Saint Windflow chose to say nothing. However, his mind started racing.
Of the 13 traitors that the Six Daos Sword Faction was after, 11 had been killed. As for the remaining 2, they had entered the Valley of Souls.
The Valley of Souls was an extremely dangerous place. There were many dead souls there. It would not be an exaggeration to say that it was the headquarters of the dead souls. However, there were also countless treasures there. Many cultivators were willing to risk their lives to explore the place.
When Chen Feng heard that their objectives were in the Valley of Souls, he secretly sneered yet again. For this group of cultivators, if they were to enter the Valley of Souls, who knows how many of them would survive?
Chen Feng was not the only one there. The others also knew about the matters of the City of Dead Souls. Thus, some of them began thinking of backing out. Only some revealed the desire to explore the place.
“Entering the City of Dead Souls is already my limit for this mission. I am unwilling to head any deeper.” In the end, someone spoke up. He had been a loose cultivator who later joined the Six Daos Sword Faction. Following that, several more cultivators chorused his sentiments. The reason they joined the Six Daos Sword Faction was to cultivate themselves. Participating in bloody fights can be considered as their duty and responsibility. But to participate in a certain-death mission was unacceptable.
The situation grew somewhat rowdy. So far, though, the ones who spoke up were all loose cultivators. As for the heir disciples of the Six Daos Sword Faction, they were all silent. It was possible that some of them were also thinking about backing away, but they simply could not voice out their opinions.
“What are you fellows afraid of? We are just sneaking in. The Valley of Souls is very big and many cultivators would enter it for an adventure. In the end, they obtained great harvest from that place. As for us, we are just heading in to find the two traitors. We will be leaving quickly. We might not even alarm the dead souls inside.” Sword Saint Windflow’s icy gaze swept forward to silence the noise.

Aeternalis
One born of nothingness. A world born of everything. To return all to nothing. Or surrender to everything. A man born into an infinite world, trying to find his path to the top. Trials and tribulations come from friends and foes alike until all bow before him. ------------------------------------- Author here! This is my 3rd story on RoyalRoad, the other two having long since been dropped years ago. They were a mess of ideas and had no real substanence to them, leading me to begin hating writing them and eventually just stop writing altogether for about a year and a half. Finally, after reading hundreds of thousands of pages of novels, from low fantasy to sci-fi litrpg's to thousands of pages long xianxias, I finally feel ready to write a real story that isn't a cesspool of ideas blended together. I plan to see this out to the end, as I already have the first few major arcs planned out unlike my other stories where I thought of ideas as I wrote. This story takes place in a world with a litrpg system, as per tags. This isn't a VRMMO or Reincarnation story. The main character exists in and is from said world. There are some differences from other litrpg's which will be explained in author notes in the few few chapters. I plan to publich 6-7 chapters a week, each 2-3k words long. If i fail to do so I will create a back-log I have to eventually make up but as of writing this it's the summer for me so I'll have plenty of time to write. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of Aeternalis.
