《Dungeon Predator》Chapter 413. Demon Sword Akanhoff's Power
Advertisement
Kang Oh wanted to try out his new demon sword ASAP.
'I have just the place.'
He left the Black Hammer Dwarves' Hideout, and headed for the mouth of the volcano.
The volcanic region had three high difficulty dungeons: the Death Eagles' Nest, the heart of the volcano, and the mouth of the volcano!
Kang Oh had been to the Death Eagles' Nest before. He had gone there to collect the Death Eagles' Eggs, which were needed to create Halium.
He had also defeated the giant lava spirit, Magnium, in the heart of the volcano, and had obtained the SS-rank Fire's Heart as a reward.
The only place he hadn't gone to yet was the mouth of the volcano.
So now...!
Kang Oh headed for the top of the volcano in order to clear the area, and test out his new demon sword.
Sometime later...
[Entering the dungeon, Deskein Crater.]
The mouth of the volcano didn't have an entrance.
However, there was a lake of boiling lava that endlessly emitted black plumes of smoke. Once a player entered the giant basin surrounding the crater, they would immediately enter the dungeon.
"First up." Kang Oh gripped the purple longsword with a black sheen.
[You have equipped Demon Sword Akanhoff.]
[Demon Sword Akanhoff has become untradeable.]
[Be warned! Demon Sword Akanhoff will drain your HP!]
These were all expected messages.
However...
[Demon Sword Ubist, Demon Sword Blood, and Demon Sword Akanhoff! You are the possessor of three demon swords with different abilities and characteristics.]
[Your talent as a Demonic Swordsman has increased.]
[The power of Demonic Swordsman skills has increased, and their proficiency increases even faster than before.]
[Applicable Skills: Demonic Swordsmanship, Darkness Strike, Devil Trigger, Darkness Chain, and Seal Demon.]
[Main Stats +20]
[Resistance to status ailments, curses, and poison has increased slightly.]
Kang Oh's eyes gleamed.
'I didn't get any bonuses when I obtained Demon Sword Blood, but...'
It seemed like this bonus would only apply when a Demonic Swordsman obtained three separate demon swords.
'Unexpected bonuses like this are always welcome!' Kang Oh's lips curled upwards.
[5 seconds have passed.]
[Demon Sword Akanhoff has drained your HP.]
[HP: -1%]
[Akanhoff's Attack Power: +1%]
Kang Oh immediately added Demon Sword Akanhoff to Switch's list of weapons.
Switch was a support skill that allowed a player to quickly swap a weapon with one from their inventory. It could also be used to pull out a weapon, or place a weapon into one's inventory.
[Demon Sword Akanhoff has been added. The current list is as follows:
[1. Demon Sword Ubist]
[2. Demon Sword Blood]
[3. Demon Sword Akanhoff]
Switch Blood!
Demon Sword Akanhoff was instantly swapped with Demon Sword Blood.
Switch Akanhoff!
Akanhoff had found its way back to his hand.
'Good.'
Kang Oh dashed forward.
A short while later...

Roar!
A Talamander, a giant lizard covered in flames, not skin, rushed at Kang Oh.
It was around level 400.
In the past, Kang Oh could barely kill one, but now it wasn't that difficult.
The Talamander's body was covered in fire, so Demon Sword Ubist would be super effective against it. After all, its special ability, Abyss Blade, allowed him to cut through the immaterial.
However, Kang Oh used Demon Sword Akanhoff instead. He was here to test his new demon sword's abilities, not to hunt.
'What is this!?' Kang Oh was shocked as he swung the sword. Akanhoff was a longsword, but it felt as light as a dagger.
Swish!
Akanhoff's purple blade cleaved through the flames, and slammed into the Talamander's bones.
Bam!
The Talamander's ribs immediately cracked. At the same time, shards of light burst out.
Absolute Destruction!
Damage Amplification!
Due to these two abilities, Demon Sword Akanhoff instantly broke its bones, and dealt a considerable amount of damage in a single blow.
Kyaa!
The Talamander shrieked, and shot intense flames from its mouth.
Kang Oh kept swinging Akanhoff instead of dodging.
Swish, slash, swish, slash, swish!
He swung his blade five times.
The Talamander's bones were crushed to pieces. They were too weak to withstand Akanhoff's toughness.
Shards of light burst out amidst the flames!
Grr.
[You have defeated the Fire Lizard, Talamander.]
'It's tremendous.'
He only needed to swing his blade five times to kill a level 400 monster.
Kang Oh hadn't even needed Gluttony, Devil Trigger, Festival of Blood, or any other buff.
Demon Sword Akanhoff!
It was definitely a tremendous weapon.
Gaining a second demon sword was like giving a tiger wings, but adding a third into the mix had basically turned him into a dragon.
[5 seconds have passed.]
[Demon Sword Akanhoff has drained your HP.]
[HP: -1%]
[Akanhoff's Attack Power: +1%]
Kang Oh went looking for new prey.
A short while, Kang Oh encountered five Talamanders. They rushed at him, and attempted to surround him.
He tried using Devil Trigger, but...
[Devil Trigger has failed.]
[There is no demon within Demon Sword Akanhoff.]
'As expected.'
Devil Trigger was a skill that allowed him to draw out a sealed demon's power and use its dangerous, yet great power as his own.
Although Akanhoff was already imbued with the power of darkness, Seal Demon hadn't been used on it yet. It made sense he wouldn't be able to use Devil Trigger with it!
Roar!
The Talamanders spat flames at him, and Kang Oh moved from his location. Then, he used Switch to put Blood in his empty hand.
Festival of Blood!
This ability reduced the wielder's HP by half. In exchange, it would increase one's attack power, speed, and life steal significantly for 30 seconds.
'Next is...!'
Mad Wind's Sword!
Kang Oh freely moved around the Talamanders, swinging his demon swords with both speed and grace.

Bam, bam, bam!
Countless shards of light exploded from their bodies! Those shards were instantly sucked into his blood sword, restoring his HP.
A short while later...
30 seconds had passed, and the effects of Festival of Blood had ended. By then, Kang Oh's HP had been fully restored.
Blood possessed an exceptional life steal ability!
Akanhoff possessed the Absolute Destruction ability, yet damaged its wielder!
Using Blood in tandem with Akanhoff completely eliminated the risk of using the latter.
'As I thought, Blood and Akanhoff have good synergy.' Kang Oh grinned and placed Blood back into his inventory.
In order to get a better feel for its abilities, Kang Oh decided to use only Akanhoff for now.
Eventually, Darkness Strike activated.
Whoosh!
A purple energy blast in the shape of a bird in flight shot out of his blade.
Swish!
It was so sharp that it instantaneously bisected a Talamander.
After that, Kang Oh tested out all of his skills using Akanhoff.
Slash!
Tempest Tiger!
Lightning Breath!
Mad Wind's Sword!
Transcendent Blade!
Their power was ridiculous!
However, Mad Wind's Sword and Transcendent Blade were on a league of their own.
The combination of Akanhoff's light weight and Mad Wind's Sword/Transcendent Blade allowed him to reach unthinkable speeds; speeds that were impossible to replicate with his other two demon swords!
Kang Oh instantly killed five Talamanders, and then searched for new prey.
Thud!
A Lava Stone Giant strode over to Kang Oh as if saying, 'It's my turn now.'.
Its body was made of rock, but lava flowed from its joints. A Lava Stone Giant was more powerful and more annoying than a Talamander.
The monster's defense was obviously high, but more importantly, attacking it would cause the lava seeping from its joints to burst out. Thus, attacking it would cause the attacker to take more damage than they dealt.
Well, that only applied when it was fighting someone on the same level as it.
Kang Oh swung Demon Sword Akanhoff at its right leg.
Crack!
Once Akanhoff's purple blade made contact with its knee, cracks began to spread from the area of impact.
Spurt!
Lava spurt from its body like water from a squirt gun. However, his Hyper Intuition and his high evasion allowed him to dodge it with ease.
He immediately swung his sword thrice. Kang Oh aimed directly at its cracked knee!
Crack! Crack! Bam!
Demon Sword Akanhoff's ability was ridiculous. With just four swings, the Lava Stone Giant's knee was shattered, and it fell onto its face.
[5 seconds have passed.]
[Demon Sword Akanhoff has drained your HP.]
[HP: -1%]
[Akanhoff's Attack Power: +1%]
[Warning! Remaining HP: 18%]
Kang Oh pulled out Blood once more. Akanhoff was in his right hand, and Blood in his left!
Festival of Blood!
[Half of your HP has been consumed.]
[Your attack power, speed, and life steal have increased significantly.]
[Warning! Remaining HP: 9%]
Kang Oh climbed onto the downed Lava Stone Giant, which was writhing on the floor, and began swinging his dual demon swords one after another.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Shards of light spurt out like a fountain. His blood red sword absorbed every last one of them. His low HP was quickly restored.
[You have life stealed.]
[HP +3%]
[HP +3%]
...
[You have defeated a Lava Stone Giant.]
'Tch.' Kang Oh looked disappointed. He had killed the Lava Stone Giant before he could fully restore his HP.
Gulp!
Kang Oh drank a health potion, restoring the HP that he wasn't able to recover, and moved on.
Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!
He encountered a Hydra next, a monster with several giant snake heads on a single body.
If it only had 3 heads, then it was just a powerful level 450 monster. However, if it had 5 heads, it was an almost level 500 named monster.
If it had seven heads, then it was a boss monster, and if it had nine heads, then it was a raid boss.
The one he faced only had three heads. However, there were five of them.
Kang Oh switched between Blood and Ubist. He planned on pairing up Ubist and Akanhoff this time in order to test how well they worked together.
"Let's go!" Kang Oh's jet-black greatsword and purple longsword danced through the air, as he gracefully moved across the battlefield.
Swish, thud!
Swish, bam!
Swish, whack!
The Hydras' severed heads fell to the floor.

The Evil God Worshippers, who'd annihilated the Baiyan Kingdom's army, searched every nook and cranny of the Royal Family's Canyon.
They had no regard for the dead, didn't care to preserve this historic site, and didn't act any differently, despite it being a sacred ground.
In order to find Axion's grave, and by extension, the sacred treasure that rested with him, the Evil God Worshippers dug up and completely ruined countless graves.
Bodies that had long since been buried here had already disappeared, but those that had been buried somewhat recently still maintained their shape.
The Evil God Worshippers just threw those bodies onto the ground in search of the sacred treasure.
However, the Royal Family's Canyon was aptly named.
The entire canyon was one huge graveyard, so the Evil God Worshippers couldn't find Axion's grave that easily.
But on the third day...
"I found a trace of the sacred treasure."
"Finally! Take me to it." The Evil God's Third Disciple, Lubatchi, suddenly stood up and walked over.
"I'll go too." The unknown man, who wore a bronze mask and had a greatsword strapped to his back, followed them too.
"Over there."
There was a hole in the middle of the huge cliff, as if it were the entrance to a cave.
"I can faintly feel Lord Jaila's power from there." Lubatchi's face brightened. "We're going immediately."
Lubatchi, the bronze mask man, and the Evil God Worshippers rode on their flying demons, and entered the cave.
But as soon as they entered, the ground and the ceiling radiated intense holy light.
"Ugh."
The Evil God Worshippers in the front were completely melted by the holy light.

The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
