Chapter 9

‘Zhen Zhen,’ Zhen Wu called .

Zhen Wu kicked the door open . His forehead was sweaty and he showed off the new laptop teacher bought him .

‘Mum, take a look,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘This is the latest model . There are only five hundred of this model that’s available in the world . ’

‘Today did you have fun at the park?’ Zhen Zhen asked and wiped sweat of Zhen Wu’s forehead .

Zhen Wu nodded and Zhen Zhen’s heart ached a little . She knew no matter how mature Zhen Zhen was, he was still a young child who loved to play . But she didn’t have enough free time to play with Zhen Zhen and her parents lived far away .

‘Zhen Zhen, do you have to go to Italy?’ Zhen Wu asked .

‘Um, who told you?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

‘I want to go too but dad won’t let me,’ Zhen Wu said and pouted his lips .

‘Of course you can’t go,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘You need to go to school . ’

‘Why do I need to go to school?’ Zhen Zhen asked . ‘My little classmates are good but they’re naive like the class teacher who squeezes my cheeks each day . The class teacher doesn’t teach science, Xiao Jiang draws on the classroom walls but the class teacher praises his drawings are beautiful and creative . ’ He sighed and rubbed his head . ‘It’s lonely being a genius . ’

‘Mr Genius, creativity is important to make new inventions,’ Zhen Zhen said .

‘Yes, yes,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘Zhen Zhen you need to take care of yourself in Italy . You need to remember to eat and take guards with you outside the hotel . ’

‘Don’t worry,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘I’ll be ok . ’

‘Of course you’ll be ok,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘You have dad to protect you . I’m only scared you’ll get lost in Italy . ’

‘I know,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘You don’t need to nag . ’

‘It’s true,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘Not everyone can understand a genius . ’

‘Can I trouble Mr Genius?’ Zhen Zhen asked . ‘Move your genius bottom to the side . ’

‘Mrs Yue, it’s my pleasure,’ Zhen Wu teased and he noticed Zhen Zhen’s underwear . ‘Zhen Zhen, you can’t wear plain underwear . ’

Zhen Wu’s words almost made Zhen Zhen vomit blood .

‘Why?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

Zhen Zhen have always worn plain underwear .

‘Today is not like the past,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘If you wear plain underwear than how are you going to seduce dad?’

‘Why do I need to seduce your dad?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

Zhen Wu looked pitifully at Zhen Zhen . ‘Mum, don’t you love dad?’

The sudden strange question made Zhen Zhen think for a while . How should she explain about her relationship with Zhen Wu’s dad?

‘I’ve only known your dad for a short period,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘I don’t dislike your dad . ’

Zhen Wu’s eyes lit up . ‘If you live together with dad for a long time then will you love dad?’

Zhen Zhen saw hope in Zhen Wu’s eyes and she didn’t have the heart to dash his hope .

‘Maybe…’ Zhen Zhen said .

‘Mum, let’s pinky swear,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘You have to promise you’ll try to love dad, ok?’

Zhen Zhen’s complex eyes looked at Zhen Wu . ‘Zhen Wu, do you really like your dad?’

‘Yes!’ Zhen Wu said . ‘Dad’s an ace!’

Zhen Zhen didn’t want to break Zhen Wu’s heart, he must have always wished for a dad in his life .

‘Ok, I’ll pinky swear with you,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘I promise I’ll try to love your dad . ’

‘Mum, you need to get dad to love you too,’ Zhen Wu advised .

Zhen Zhen didn’t think Zhen Wu’s wish was hard and she impulsively promised to grant his wish .

It wasn’t until Zhen Zhen boarded the plane to Italy did she regret her impulsive promise . Why didn’t she think about how she was supposed to seduce Yue Gu Zai before she promised Zhen Wu? It would be faster for her to seduce bacteria .

‘What are you thinking about?’ Yue Gu Zai asked .

Zhen Zhen was deep in thought and she impulsively opened her mouth . ‘I’m thinking about how to seduce you . ’

Yue Gu Zai stopped breathing and the anticipation in his eyes jolted Zhen Zhen out of her thoughts . She realised she spat out the truth and smiled awkwardly at him .

‘About what I said… can you agree to pretend you didn’t hear me say anything?’ Zhen Zhen said .

Yue Gu Zai narrowed his eyes and he sat upright on his seat . ‘In this world there is one golden rule . A promise is worth millions . If you make a promise then you need to honor it or your tongue will be chopped off and used as shark bait . ’

Zhen Zhen blinked and covered her mouth . ‘My tongue is too small . It won’t be appetizing… besides, I’m not part of yours and your minions’ world . Why do I need to follow your golden rule?’

‘Miss Zhen Zhen, what world do you think I belong to?’ Yue Gu Zai teased .

Zhen Zhen thought for a long time then she deflected the question to Cheng Yi .

‘Big brother Cheng Yi, what world do you belong to?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

Cheng Yi hid somewhere else on the plane and he secretly laughed .

Zhen Zhen’s eyes circled the plane to search for Cheng Yi while Yue Gu Zai and Bai Yu Tian were smiling widely and Huyen Di closed his eyes like he didn’t see anything .

Zhen Zhen thought the men could laugh to death at her expense .

‘Regardless, I’m not a triad member,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘If you men are honorable then you wouldn’t swallow your clients’ goods . ’

Cheng Yi’s laughter ceased, Huyen Di’s eyes were wide open, Yue Gu Zai’s smile disappeared and only Bai Yu Tian was smiling .

Zhen Zhen regretted opening her mouth .

Everyone knew Zhen Zhen was talking about Mr Tao’s situation .

Bai Yu Tian adjusted his glasses . ‘Miss Zhen Zhen, do you call letting someone else swallow your goods honorable? What about if someone else killed your sworn brothers unprovoked and tried to kill you many times? Do you think you can still talk reasonably with that person? How can you talk honor with someone else who almost killed you with one knife stab?’

Bai Yui Tian secretly glanced at Yue Gu Zai and he knew he said enough .

Zhen Zhen thought in the future it was safest for her not to disagree with Yue Gu Zai otherwise she would continue to talk impulsively in a panicked state . In the past she had planned to keep her distance from Yue Gu Zai, but she didn’t want to disappoint Zhen Wu . Zhen Wu’s wish echoed in her head, ‘mum, you need to get dad to love you . ’

Zhen Zhen moved her bottom closer to Yue Gu Zai and she spoke softly . ‘Were you almost killed by Mr Tao?’

‘In this world apart from Shu Tang Jue, no one else can take my life,’ Yue Gu Zai said .

Zhen Zhen’s heart ached for Yue Gu Zai . She turned her head around and glared at the hateful Bai Yui Tian for making her fearful about Yue Gu Zai losing his life . When she thought Yue Gu Zai almost lost his life, her heart panicked strangely .

‘Who is Shu Tang Jue?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

‘He’s Tan Lang’s boss,’ Cheng Yi said . ‘Boss and the Tan Lang gang have been enemies for a long time . I heard teacher said that the feud was started by boss’ mum . Boss had tried to end the feud but failed . ’

‘Cheng Yi, you’ve said too much,’ Yue Gu Zai warned the smiling Cheng Yi .

‘Honestly Tan Lang’s boss should thank boss’ mum,’ Cheng Yi said . ‘If boss’ mum didn’t play with Tan Lang’s boss’ dad then Tan Lang’s boss wouldn’t have become Tan Lang’s boss that early . ’

Zhen Zhen thought ‘play’ in the triad world meant playing a person until they were crippled . Zhen Wu’s hopeful voice echoed in her head again, ‘mum, you need to get dad to love you . ’ For Zhen Wu, if she had to climb on top of Yue Gu Zai’s tiger mum’s back then she would . If she was close to Yue Gu Zai’s mum then Yue Gu Zai’s mum would deal with Yue Gu Zai on her behalf .

‘Yue Gu Zai, how is your mum’s health?’ Zhen Zhen asked . ‘One day I need to greet your heroic mum . ’

At the mention of Yue Gu Zai’s mum, his body gave off a cold aura . Zhen Zhen retreated and asked Bai Yui Tian softly about Yue Gu Zai’s mum .

‘Doesn’t he get along with his mum?’ Zhen Zhen asked . ‘Doesn’t he love his mum?’

Bai Yui Tian laughed . ‘It’s the opposite . Boss loves his mum . But… you need to ask boss about his relationship with his mum . ’

Zhen Zhen thought it was pointless asking Bai Yui Tian . If she could ask Yue Gu Zai about Yue Gu Zai’s mum then she wouldn’t have bothered to ask Bai Yui Tian about Yue Gu Zai’s mum . She was curious what sort of woman Yue Gu Zai’s mum was . Yue Gu Zai was a beautiful man so his mum must be an extraordinary beauty .

If Ling Jia knew someone was praising her looks then she would be smiling in her sleep .
