Chapter 11

Yue Gu Zai drove to the Da Mansion .

At the Da Mansion, Yue Gu Zai barged into the living room .

‘Mr Yue, mistress is in the bathroom,’ Chu Bai said . ‘Please take a seat . ’

Yue Gu Zai strode to the bathroom and kicked the door down .

Da Tu Li lowered her body under the bubble bath .

‘Mistress,’ Chu Bai said .

‘You can leave,’ Da Tu Li said .

‘Yes mistress,’ Chu Bai said .

After the butler left, Da Tu Li stood in front of Yue Gu Zai . Her naked body didn’t affect Yue Gu Zai .

‘I knew you would come,’ Da Tu Li said .

‘Give me the antidote,’ Yue Gu Zai said .

‘You’re hateful,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘You have a beauty in front of you, but you don’t know how to sweet talk . Many men scheme to crawl on my bed yet you don’t even look my way . But I love your coldness . ’

‘Antidote,’ Yue Gu Zai said .

‘If you want the antidote then you need to pry it out of my mouth,’ Da Tu Li said .

Yue Gu Zai twisted Da Tu Li’s arm .

‘How aggressive,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘There’s no rush . ’

‘You know you don’t have much time left,’ Yue Gu Zai said . ‘Without an antidote then the Da business will fall into your uncle’s hands . ’

Da Tu Li finally noticed her hand turned a black shade .

‘MF Bai Yu Tian!’ Da Tu Li cursed .

Da Tu Li gritted her teeth, dressed and grabbed the antidote from her room .

Yue Gu Zai exchanged antidotes with Da Tu Li . He didn’t doubt it was the real antidote, because she was someone who kept her promises .

‘Your little maid is not bad,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘I want to invite her here as a guest . ’

Yue Gu Zai narrowed his eyes and his complexion darkened .

‘I’m only warning you once,’ Yue Gu Zai said . ‘Don’t lay a finger on her . ’

While Da Tu Li was surprised to see Yue Gu Zai angry, he had left her home .

‘Mistress, you have a phone call,’ Chu Bai said . ‘It’s Da Fu Li . ’

‘What does he want?’ Da Tu Li asked .

‘He lost money at Hong’s Casino in Las Vegas,’ Chu Bai said . ‘They’re detaining him . ’

Da Tu Li laughed coldly . ‘The Hong family isn’t someone he should offend . I’ll take the call . ’

Da Tu Li accepted the phone from Chu Bai . On the other end she heard her brother’s pathetic cry .

‘Big sister!’ Da Fu Li pleaded . ‘Save me!’

‘Hello Miss Da,’ Mr Hong said . ‘You and your little brother must have a close relationship . He asked me to call you first before calling his father . I can see why a young woman like you is in charge of the Da business . ’

‘Mr Hong, why don’t you cut to the chase,’ Da Fu Li said . ‘Considering the relations between the Da family and your family, we can negotiate a deal to satisfy you . ’

‘Ok, I want the Da’s district in Tai,’ Mr Hong said .

‘Mr Hong, you should at least let me make enough to feed myself,’ Da Tu Li said .

Da Tu Li thought Mr Hong was a greedy bastard . Did he want her to starve to death?

‘Miss Da, you’re too modest,’ Mr Hong said . ‘Everyone knows excluding Shu Tang Jue and Yue Gu Zai’s businesses, the Da business owns one third of the black market . ’

‘Are you saying there’s no room for negotiation?’ Da Tu Li asked . ‘It’s not that I can’t save the little shit, but everyone knows his father and I don’t get along . ’

‘I’m not worried I’ll make a lost,’ Mr Hong said . ‘His father wouldn’t let his only son die easily . I don’t mind giving his father a call . But do you want to waste years of building your close relationship with your little brother?’

Da Tu Li thought Mr Hong was an old fox .

‘Ok, I’ll compromise,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘You can have one third of the Da district in Tai . ’

‘Good, Miss Da, you can send someone to pick up your little brother,’ Mr Hong said .

Da Tu Li hung up and smashed the phone on the floor .

‘Mistress, don’t be upset,’ Chu Bai said .

‘Don’t let my uncle find out about this,’ Da Tu Li said .

‘Yes, mistress,’ Chu Bai said .

A few days later at the main house, Zhen Zhen got to know Louis while Yue Gu Zai was busy working around Florence .

Zhen Zhen peeled an apple for Louis . She thought he was an eccentric man like teacher .

‘Are you thinking about Yue Gu Zai?’ Louis asked .

Zhen Zhen blushed . ‘Who’s thinking about that toxic man?’

‘Toxic?’ Louis teased .

Zhen Zhen thought she said too much . ‘I mean…’

‘Gu Zai wasn’t like this when he was a child,’ Louis said .

Zhen Zhen was curious to hear what Yue Gu Zai was like as a child .

‘What was he like as a child?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

‘Energetic, mischievous and adorable,’ Louis said .

‘What?’ Zhen Zhen asked . ‘Adorable?’

Zhen Zhen thought no matter how she looked at Yue Gu Zai’s face, she couldn’t see anything adorable about him .

‘He only changed after he took over Ni Sheng,’ Louis said . ‘Honestly teacher and I had no intentions of letting him take over Ni Sheng . We only want him to live a happy life . He didn’t want to take over Ni Sheng either . But he’s been stubborn since he was a child . ’

‘If he doesn’t want to be in charge of Ni Sheng then why did he accept the head position?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

Louis smiled a bitter sweet smile . ‘His mum . His mum loves the homes in the districts Ni Sheng owns . His way of protecting places his mum loves is by taking charge of Ni Sheng . ’

‘His mum must be incredibly gentle and beautiful,’ Zhen Zhen said .

Louis laughed uncontrollably for a long time .

‘Perhaps other people don’t think Xiao Ling is gentle and beautiful,’ Louis said . ‘Yes, she’s petty, unreasonable and a reckless troublemaker . But in my heart she’s the most beautiful person . ’

Zhen Zhen thought there was loneliness in the way Louis was smiling .

‘Where is she living?’ Zhen Zhen asked .

‘Gu Zai said that she’s living a happy life,’ Louis said . ‘That’s enough for me . ’

Zhen Zhen realised Louis loved Yue Gu Zai’s mum . She didn’t understand why Louis didn’t want to live with someone he loved . Why did Louis still love someone who left him a long time ago and was content as long as Yue Gu Zai’s mum was happy . She thought love was too complicated .

‘Miss Zhen Zhen, I can see Gu Zai cares about you,’ Louis said . ‘Help me take good care of him . ’

‘It’s not like that… he… it’s not what you’re thinking…’ Zhen Zhen said .

Zhen Zhen didn’t think Yue Gu Zai cared about her . He didn’t care about her opinion and expected her to follow his lead . Neither of them knew they conceived Zhen Wu together for years . Even if Yue Gu Zai cared about her, it was because they have a son together .

Zhen Zhen silently reasoned why Yue Gu Zai didn’t care about her for a while . When she raised her head, Louis was sleeping . She sighed and decided if she couldn’t explain properly why Yue Gu Zai didn’t care about her then she should at least let Louis have a good sleep . She covered Louis’ body with the bedsheet and left Louis’ room .
