Chapter 19

Da Tu Li sashayed into Yue Gu Zai’s study room .

Zhen Zhen was eating cheese in Yue Gu Zai’s study room, but she choked at the sight of Da Tu Li’s cleavage and long legs in a skimpy red tank top and tight red shorts . Zhen Zhen thought her body insecurities worsened each time she saw Da Tu Li .

Zhen Wu was reading in a corner of his dad’s study room . He heard the sounds of heels and looked up, a tall lady in red was strutting toward his dad .

‘It appears dad likes this type of woman,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘Mum, I think you should consider consulting plastic surgeons about increasing your A cup to B cup . ’

‘Who said I’m A cup?’ Zhen Zhen denied . ‘I’m at least B cup . ’

Zhen Wu shook his head after he saw Da Tu Li’s red lips were approaching his dad’s lips .

‘Mum, I bet dad won’t let that lady kiss him,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘The loser has to be the winner’s slave for a week . ’

‘OK, as if your dad would reject a kiss from a beautiful woman,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘Zhen Wu, close your eyes . It’s not appropriate for you to see them kissing . ’

Zhen Wu pulled his mum’s hand away from his eyes . ‘Mum, if you cover my eyes then how will I know if dad let the lady kiss him or not?’

The green vein on Yue Gu Zai’s forehead almost jumped out . He heard his wife and son betting at his expense .

‘Go outside,’ Yue Gu Zai ordered his wife and son .

Zhen Zhen and Zhen Wu stood and they walked toward the door .

Zhen Zhen turned around, smiled and apologized . ‘We won’t bother your private time together . Although we were here first, we’ll leave and let you two continue . ’

Da Tu Li laughed after Zhen Zhen and Zhen Wu left the study room .

‘You have an interesting little girlfriend,’ Da Tu Li praised .

Yue Gu Zai saw Da Tu Li coming toward him and he glared coldly at her . ‘Stay far away from me . ’

‘What a cold man,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘Do you really don’t want me? You and Shu Tang Yue are at stalemate . If you marry me, I’ll hand over the reign of the Da Household to you as a dowry . I won’t mind if you have a mistress . Why don’t you think about my offer?’

‘I don’t need to rely on a woman at work,’ Yue Gu Zai said coldly . ‘You didn’t come here to talk rubbish . ’

‘Of course, I came here to beg you to release Da Fu Li,’ Da Tu Li said .

‘Not possible,’ Yue Gu Zai rejected .

‘I don’t know why Fu Li dared to offend you,’ Da Tu Li said . ‘I know no one stays alive after offending you . But can you give me face and release Fu Li this time . I’ll take him back and the Da Household will discipline him . Think about it, if you exchange a half dead boy, you’ll get a profitable favor from the Da Household in return . ’

Yue Gu Zai thought about the offer for a while . ‘OK, it’s possible . ’

‘I knew you would agree,’ Da Tu Li said .

Da Tu Li walked toward the door, turned around and blew Yue Gu Zai an air kiss . ‘I’m happy to welcome you whenever you decide the little deer can’t satisfy you . ’

Outside in the living room, Zhen Zhen received a call from her supervisor Jiang .

‘Hello supervisor Jiang,’ Zhen Zhen greeted .

‘Zhen Zhen, you’ve been sick with a stomach ulcer for more than two months,’ Jiang lamented . ‘Although having a healthy body is a priority, but even if you have ten stomach ulcers, they would have been healed by now . Zhen Zhen, you can’t keep neglecting your scientific research . My boss wants to check on your progress . And they asked me to ask you to setup a suitable time to see you . ’

Zhen Zhen didn’t know she had a stomach ulcer . But it wasn’t important as her research . ‘Supervisor Jiang, it’s my fault . Tomorrow I’ll return to the lab and complete my research . ’

On the other side of the phone, Jiang was happy to hear good news about Zhen Zhen returning to work . But on Zhen Zhen’s end, she was stressing while she walked back to Yue Gu Zai’s study . She didn’t know what happened during the two month period she lost her memory . Regardless of Yue Gu Zai being considerate enough to ask supervisor Jiang for her sick leave, Yue Gu Zai didn’t have the right to control her freedom . But her confidence waned after she stood in front of Yue Gu Zai .

Yue Gu Zai looked up from his reports . ‘Zhen Zhen, did something happen?’

‘Tomorrow I’ll be going back to the lab,’ Zhen Zhen said weakly .

‘OK, I’ll ask Cheng Yi to go with you,’ Yue Gu Zai said .

‘I don’t mean going there for a visit,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘I mean I need to go back to work . ’

Yue Gu Zai tossed the reports on the table . ‘Do you think I can’t support you?’

‘The issue isn’t about whether you can support me or not,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘What’s important to me is that this is the career I’ve chosen for myself . Besides, I’m not your woman . Why do you need to support me?’

‘We’re married,’ Yue Gu Zai said . ‘You’re my legal wife . Can you say you’re not my woman?’

‘Liar!’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘When did I marry you?’

Yue Gu Zai picked up his and Zhen Zhen’s framed marriage certificate and showed it to Zhen Zhen .

Zhen Zhen looked in disbelief at her signature next to Yue Gu Zai’s signature at the bottom of their marriage certificate .

‘This doesn’t count,’ Zhen Zhen said . ‘You must have used an opportunity while my head was muddled to trick me to marry you . Also, for a marriage to count, there needs to be a wedding ceremony, a wedding cake and a honeymoon after the wedding . But I don’t remember any events about marrying you . ’

Zhen Zhen refused to admit she vaguely remembered marrying Yue Gu Zai .

‘Are you saying you want a proper wedding ceremony and a honeymoon for our marriage to count?’ Yue Gu Zai asked .

‘That’s not what I meant,’ Zhen Zhen said .

Zhen Zhen was on the verge of going insane . She strode out of the triad boss’ study . It didn’t matter if Yue Gu Zai was the father of her son, her career was still important to her . Regardless whether Yue Gu Zai agreed about her returning to work, she was determined to finish her research the following day .
