Chapter 48: The Gift

“There’s no need. I didn’t even prepare a gift like what you’ve mentioned. I wouldn’t dare to accept your master’s belongings!” Locke’s words were dripping with malice.

The lackeys were so terrified that they quickly buried their faces.

Truthfully speaking, Locke really wanted to try out his evolved Body Tempering”!

However, he was afraid that he would cause trouble if he had not grasped it well.

After all, he had only recently obtained the cultivation technique. After giving some more thought, he decided to suppress his curiosity.

“How about this, since there’s such a rule in place, I’ll abide by it…” A strange smile crept onto Locke’s face.

“Do you see the food that you guys knocked over?” Locke raised his neck and gestured them to look at the Daemon meat that they had knocked over earlier.

“This is my gift, eat it…”

The moment Locke said those words, a thin layer of ice began to form on the lackeys’ feet.

It was the Twin-headed White Jade Snake’s doing!

It had served as a warning!

Remembering how their Battle Beasts had ended up, the four of them acted quickly.

They pounced on the toppled table like dogs and devoured the Daemon meat that Locke did not manage to eat.

Noticing how sorry they looked, even the students of the Gold Class began to laugh at them.

‘Say goodbye to our reputations…’

Once they had finished eating, they immediately knelt down before Locke again. In response, Locke warned, “Tell your master not to provoke me. If this ever happens again, it won’t be a matter of just a few Battle Beasts dying…”

Then, he stood up and gave each of the four lackeys a kick on the buttocks!

“Get lost!!”

With a gasp, the four lackeys scurried away from the restaurant.

“Sir, Adrian is not someone to be trifled with…”the head chef said worriedly.

After finishing his coffee, Locke responded, “It’s fine, I’m itching to face a strong opponent anyway…”

“Please give me another portion of the Daemon meat from before, I like the taste very much!” Locke sat at the bar counter and ordered in a carefree manner.

“You bunch of cowards!”

Back in a certain double-story villa in the Diamond District, Adrian was teaching the four ‘dogs’ a lesson!

Without holding back any of his strength, Adrian viciously stamped his foot on the four lackeys.

Perhaps due to habit, their cries of pain were rather rhythmic.

“Brother! I’ve already told you that the guy is not an easy person to deal with. But no, you didn’t want to believe me. How can these few pieces of trash be a match for him?”

Alice, who was busy fixing her makeup, calmly stated.

“Hmph! If I were to personally make a move, wouldn’t the kid’s name immediately spread throughout the school?” Adrian was certain that with his strength, Locke would not pose a problem to him.

What he was more concerned about was his noble ‘reputation’.

“But no matter… he killed his fellow students’ Battle Beasts on his first day of school. I’m sure that something interesting would happen if we were to report this to the administrative office…”Alice had already thought of a way to frame Locke.

When Adrian heard this, he smiled and said, “Indeed, it’s only the first day. That settles it then, I’ll bring these four pieces of garbage to explain the situation to the administrative office tomorrow. Once Locke is expelled from the academy, I’ll hire someone else to teach him a lesson!”

Alice combed her hair and said, “But, I feel like we could give Locke a heavier sentence…”

Understanding what his sister meant, Adrian turned to the four lackeys kneeling on the ground and said, “I’ll purchase some new Beast Eggs for you tomorrow! Don’t worry, they won’t be inferior to the ones you used to own. If you’re not satisfied with your new eggs, I’ll even allow you to change them…”

“Thank you! Thank you!”

They did not expect Adrian to be so generous. Beast Eggs were exorbitantly expensive, and as such, they were overjoyed by Adrian’s offer.

However, all of this had come at a price.

“In order to secure the guy’s expulsion, I’ll need you guys to suffer a little more!”

With that, Adrian then pummeled the four lackeys to kingdom come.

The next morning, after eating his breakfast in his dormitory, Locke walked toward the teaching building under the radiant sunshine.

After passing through the playground, he arrived before a single-story ancient building.

This was one of the classrooms of the Diamond Class.

He had seen his schedule for the day. They were all theoretical classes.

Strictly speaking, both Alice and himself were considered as ‘transfer students’.

After all, geniuses were rare. It was impossible to recruit them every year.

Thus, the academy could only recruit them as they encountered them.

Upon entering the classroom, Locke was immediately greeted with the sight of several unfamiliar faces.

However, based on how they were laughing and playing around, they were probably already used to this place.

The classroom was spacious, and there were many seats. As such, Locke chose an inconspicuous seat to sit in.

“I heard that the new guy’s Battle Beast is of rose gold quality…”

“Really?”

“Why would I lie to You? My underlings from the Gold Class told me that yesterday in their restaurant, this guy fought with Adrian’s people. From their description, it should be a rose gold beast.”

Locke could not bothered with his classmates’ gossip.

After all, it was better to spread the word to let the nobles understand their powerlessness. By doing so, no one would ever stir trouble with him again.

Alice’s arrival made the boys in the class very happy.

After all, she was really beautiful and had a good figure.

A few noble children walked forward one after another and greeted Alice with the usual pretentious aristocratic etiquette.

The classroom’s door swung open.

The first person to walk in seemed to be a person of authority, and trailing behind him was Adrian and his four lackeys.

The instructor asked the director.

The director appeared to be in his thirties. For someone who was the Director of Education, he was rather young.

“Mr. Albert, please pause your class for a moment!” Director Charles walked to the podium, looked at the students and said, “Yesterday evening, there was a fight in a restaurant in the Gold District!”

“The Battle Beasts of four students in this class were killed by someone, and the students were beaten up!”

With that, he gestured for the four people behind Adrian to walk forward.

However, not long after, a burst of laughter broke out in the classroom.

It was to be expected. After all, the four lackeys looked comical.

Their faces were completely swollen like pig heads.
