Chapter 54: Landslide Victory!
Suddenly, Locke opened his eyes!
His Wings of the Sky flapped, and with a leap, Locke had successfully dodged the vine-like root attack!
He raised his spear and directly struck the Dryad!
“Misty Strike of Agony!” Missing his first strike, Jonathan once again commanded his Dryad to attack!
The ten vines immediately split apart and swung at Locke who was suspended in-mid-air.
Perhaps due to his evolved “Body Tempering”, Locke subconsciously brandished his Fire God’s Spear and countered all the vines’ attacks!
“Twin-headed Hellhound! Flame Bullet!”
“Awooo… !”
As the two heads howled in unison, their bellies began to emanate a crimson glow!
Following that, the wolf bombarded Locke with a number of high-speed fireballs!
Locke’s reflexes had become insanely fast! While changing his flight direction, he also willed his wings to intercept the fireballs with wind blades!
It was a spectacular sight to behold!
“This is so cool!”
“So cool!”
“I want a pair of wind wings1 too!”
The students began to cheer!
However, Locke did not notice the students’ cheers as he was extremely excited!
‘As expected!’
‘The results of the evolved Body Tempering is truly extraordinary!’
‘My current state is completely different from the time I faced the python!’
Not only was Locke’s reaction speed heightened, all four of his limbs were also coursing with strength!
With how much his physical strength had improved, Locke did not feel tired at all!
Moreover, with his fusion of Fire God’s Spear and his Wings of the Sky, he felt like he was undefeatable God of War!
“Alright! Let’s try it on this guy!”
In Locke’s current state, the vines had posed no threat to him!
As such, he wanted to fight against the [ Twin-headed Hellhound ] to test the limits of his abilities!

The moment Locke made contact with the ground, Hughes immediately shouted, “Rip apart his legs! Hell Pounce!!”
The Twin-headed Hellhound was indeed very fast!
In less than five seconds, it had already arrived in front of Locke!
Both of its heads chomped down at Locke’s legs!
“Clang!!”
The following scene shocked everyone!
Locke was even faster than the hellhound!
He had intercepted the Hellhound’s attack with his spear!
For a moment, the situation seemed to be in a deadlock!
Excitement was at an all time high!
At this moment, Jonathan commanded his Dryad to attack with its vines once more!
Once again, Locke had intercepted the vines with wind blades!
The dozen or so vines were immediately shredded apart.
“What?” Jonathan was shocked. After all, not even a treasured-sword was able to cut the vines usually!
‘And yet, Locke’s wind wings actually cut through them with ease?!’
Truthfully speaking, Locke was surprised as well. It was only then that he realized, Body Tempering had improved his elemental-infused body’s strength as well!
‘That’s awesome!’ He felt that all the Battle Beasts and techniques he evolved had perfectly synchronized with one another!
“Alright! I’ve had enough fun. Time for a time out!” With that, Locke gripped his spear, and attempted to fling the Twin-headed Hellhound away by spinning his spear!
However, the Twin-headed Hellhound had other plans!
It clamped down even stronger! It was using all of its strength to go against Locke’s grip!
Locke frowned. Very quickly, a warm current gathered in his arms!
An unbelievable power coursed through his veins!
With that, Locke had gained the upper-hand in the match of strength!
He smashed the teeth of the hellhound in a single blow!
Soon, the floor was littered with canine tooth and blood!
Sensing the pain, the Twin-headed Hellhound yelped and immediately drew back!

Locke took the opportunity and punched the two wolf heads of the hellhound!
A mere instant later, fangs and blood splattered everywhere!
The Twin-headed Hellhound was defeated!
Meanwhile, as the Dryad’s vines had been torn asunder, Jonathan was out of commission as well!
“The competition is over! The winner… is Locke!! He has obtained two points and he’s the top seed in his group!” The judge announced loudly.
“Wow…”
“To think that he can control his three Battle Beasts so well!”
“It seems that he really is a genius!”
The students were aware that Locke had three Battle Beasts, but they did not know that all three of them were divine rank, not to mention his upgraded Body Tempering!
“My Twin-headed Hellhound! It doesn’t even have any teeth left! How can it fight now?!” Hughes knelt beside the two-headed dog and cried loudly.
Jonathan, on the other hand, was collecting the torn vines and was thinking on how to reattach them.
“Hmph!” Adrian threw his wineglass in hand and walked back to the sofa where he had asked his underlings to prepare for him.
“It seems that… Alice and I will need to personally teach him a lesson!”
He was right. Once the victors of each group had been decided, it was time for the elimination matches!
Locke’s next opponent was Alice!
After withdrawing his Battle Beasts, Locke walked to the shade of a tree and took a nap on the grass to recover his mana.
An hour or so later, the rankings of the other groups had been decided.
Instructor Ollie announced, “We’ll take a two-hour break starting from now. The elimination matches will begin at 2 p.m. sharp!”
Ollie’s loud voice had woken up Locke, and since he was now rested, he decided to buy some food in the convenience store.
After downing a couple Flaming Chicken sandwiches and two bottles of Mana Milk, Locke felt energetic.
Upon locating an empty spot, Locke sat down and began cultivating his Mana Meditation Technique.
Not long after he had begun, a white-haired old man sat next to him and started flipping through a tattered ancient book.
Locke looked at the skinny old man dressed in gray clothes and thought that he was a janitor.
As such, he took out a sandwich and a bottle of Mana Milk from his plastic bag and handed them over. “Old man, eat something!”
“Oh… Oh! You’re a good kid, thank you! They seem to be hungry!”
Locke did not understand the old man’s answer. ‘What did he mean by “They seem to be hungry”?’
Soon, the old man crushed the bread and threw it on the ground!
Soon, countless white pigeons gathered and enjoyed the food on the ground.
“Ah! Mana milk is really the most effective mana recovery agent in the world!” The old man sighed after drinking a mouthful of sweet milk.
Locke was not bothered by the old man feeding the pigeons with sandwiches. Instead, he asked curiously, “Old man, what are you reading?”
“Hahaha! Well, aren’t you a curious one? It’s nothing much. It’s just a crappy book I collected earlier. There’s nothing strange about it…” The old man chuckled heartily.
“Yes, I’m very curious. What’s it about?” Locke opened a bottle of water and drank it.
“Well… It’s actually a book about the history of the White family. It contains details of the special skills passed down from generation to generation…” The old man answered as he flipped through the book.
Locke suddenly recalled, ‘Isn’t Adrian from the White family?’
