Chapter 120: Tristan’s Struggle To Hold On

Based on the huge whale that was levitating in mid-air, Tristan immediately knew.

The enemy’s general, Joey, had arrived!

Tristan immediately changed his target and ordered his Black Tortoise to continuously fire shelsls at him!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

However, the Giant Whale’s defense was extremely sturdy. Even after taking several shots, it had taken no damage at all!

“It’s probably a Stage 5 epic rank Battle Beast…”

Upon hearing Tristan’s words, Joey laughed loudly, “As expected of an instructor from the academy, your judgment is very accurate!”

After saying that, Joey leaped onto the roof!

All the Daemon Fang soldiers had also walked over.

“Tristan, I’ve always admired your level-headedness. Submit to me, and in the future, I’ll let you manage the City Hall…” Joey did not immediately launch an attack, instead, he attempted to persuade him. “And that great beauty? I also have very important things for her to do…”

Most of the students present were similar. Their Battle Beast were gradually disappearing.

Hobrick and Jacques were nowhere to be seen. As such, it was up to Tristan to defend the students!

After settling the students in a safer position, Black Tortoise then fired several more cannonballs at the Giant Whale.

Once it had found a suitable location, it then activated its ultimate skill Condensed Light Spell!

Some quick-witted Daemon Fang soldiers had noticed Tristan’s intentions and they immediately urged their Battle Beasts to attack!

The other instructors knew that Tristan needed time to charge the attack. As such, they forced their battered bodies to stand upright and go against the Daemon Fang soldiers.

“Quick, stop him!” Joey knew that the move was very powerful. Joey immediately ordered all of his subordinates to shield his Giant Whale for him!

“You’re too late!” Tristan shouted.

The powerful Condensed Light Spell shot out from the Black Tortoise’s abdomen and attacked Joey!

Everyone present covered their eyes subconsciously! The light was extremely brilliant!

Boom!

An earth-shattering explosion followed, and the Giant Whale had taken the brunt of the attack for more than 20 seconds!

The smell of burnt flesh hung in the air.

“Success!”

“As expected of the Condensed Light Spell!”

The instructors celebrated.

However, Tristan knew that there was no way that a Stage 5 epic rank Battle Beast would go down that easily.

Before long, the Giant Whale took to the skies again, and Joey had come out completely unscathed from the whale’s mouth.

“You won’t have a second chance to use your ultimate skill…”

Joey looked at the charred body of the whale with a displeased expression.

After receiving a telepathic message, the Giant Whale’s body began to tremble!

“Goodbye, everyone!”

The whale opened its huge mouth again and spat out waves of seawater onto the ground!

“Take cover!” The Daemon Fang commander immediately reminded his subordinates to find a place to hide.

“All of you, head into the Black Tortoise!” Although he did not know what was the reason, Tristan had a bad premonition. He hurriedly ordered the students and instructors to enter the Black Tortoise’s cabin!

Very quickly, countless icicles descended from the sky!

The area was so large that it occupied the entire federation’s campus!

Only after the icicles descended did Tristan realize how sharp they were!

Each icicle was as tall as an adult, and one of it had pierced an instructor who did not enter the cabin in time.

“Gack…”

He died immediately!

One of the icicles had also scraped Tristan’s leg before he managed to enter the cabin!

Worse still, his legs gradually turned into a shade of purple!

“It’s poisonous!” A teacher with a medical Battle Beast immediately went forward to perform a bloodletting therapy on Tristan!

However, due to the number of icicles that descended from the sky, Black Tortoise was unable to withstand their impact, and before long, it was blasted into the ground!

Joey was very pleased with himself. He put his hands on his waist and shouted, “Hobrick! You old fart, come out and face me!”

“I’m right here…” An old man’s voice appeared behind Joey, on the back of the giant whale!

Before he had managed to turn his head around, Joey was suddenly attacked by several barbed vines!

He quickly jumped into the air. Then, the Giant Whale swallowed Joey!

“This old fart acts exactly like the rumors! He likes to launch sneak attacks!” Joey roared in anger!

The whale’s body shook violently in an attempt to make Hobrick lose his balance!

“Principal, be careful!”

“All of the whale’s attacks are wide-ranged attacks!”

“You’ve only just recovered, don’t push yourself too much!”

Although those were Tristan’s words, as Jacques and Locke had yet to appear, Hobrick was the only one who could fend off Joey!

“Don’t worry, kid. Take everyone to a safe place. I’ll fend him off…” Hobrick stated.

With a nod, Tristan then ordered his Black Tortoise to bring them to a safe location.

Joey had no intention to chase after the small fries. In that moment, he only had eyes for the principal — Hobrick!

“Your big guy is rather impressive…” Hobrick’s tone was polite, but he was already readying an attack with his three remaining elemental beasts!

Although his opponent was a Stage 5[1] Battle Beast, Hobrick’s Battle Beasts were all at Stage 7. Moreover, he had three of them!

He was not the slightest bit afraid of his opponent!

However, as the Giant Whale possessed extraordinary defense, it still remained in the air, even after taking several hits from Hobrick!

“Do you know that my Battle Beast’s defense is the highest within the Holy City?!” Joey was not afraid of Hobrick’s Battle Beasts. Instead, he seemed to be rather confident.

This made Hobrick somewhat puzzled.

“Don’t think that I’m afraid of you, old man…” The Giant Whale’s body began to tremble, as if it had received an order.

Seeing that the other party was launching another attack, Hobrick immediately ordered his ice elemental to transform into a battle armor to cover his entire body. He also ordered his wood elemental to form several tree walls to block whatever attack was coming!

Meanwhile, he ordered his water elemental to be on standby, so that it could launch a counterattack if needed!

“Come! I’ll let you have a taste of my three-element defense skill!”

Noticing that the old man had taken a defensive stance, the corners of Joey’s lips then contorted into a sinister smile!

[1] The author constantly switches between Stage 7 and Stage 5. After considering how Old Man White’s Battle Beasts are only at Stage 1, as well as Locke’s Stage 2 and 3 Battle Beasts, I’ve decided to stick with Stage 5 instead. By the same thought process, I’ve also decided to bring Hobrick’s Battle Beasts to Stage 7 instead of Stage 9, as the power gap would feel too huge otherwise. This might change in the future though, depending on whether the author has finally made up their mind on the characters’ power levels.
