Chapter 141: 141
Chapter 141: A Formation Specially Prepared For Locke
Bang! Bang!
Locke’s two consecutive punches had broken the centipede before him in half.
Meanwhile, the Lethal Scorpion and Killer Wasp pursued Locke closely.
“Fatal Poison Lock!” Andre shouted loudly. The poisonous scorpion lashed out, and attempted to sting Locke!
The poison on the scorpion’s tail was capable of paralyzing its opponent’s brain!
However, Gale Wings had made Locke extremely agile. He effortlessly dodged the blow.
Although the three of them seemed to have the upper hand in the battle, in reality, they were unable to cause any damage to Locke.
The more the mindless audience cheered for them, the more frustrated Andre became!
“Let’s use that move!”
Shaw and Augustine nodded upon hearing Andre’s suggestion and they immediately issued telepathic commands to their Battle Beasts.
Shaw’s centipede was the first to act. It twisted its body and began to coil around the edge of the dueling platform. Then, it began to surround the place in a systematic manner. Before long, the huge centipede had covered the entire platform!
The lights had been blocked, and even the referee was isolated from the battle!
“Solid Suture!” Shaw shouted again.
The centipede’s armor began to dissolve, and the black liquid that it formed immediately sealed all the gaps!
The centipede’s body had formed a huge enclosed space!
“Hey! Can’t you guys turn on the Lights?” Locke looked at the pitch-black surroundings and ridiculed.
The three students who were wearing night vision devices mentally laughed at Locke.
“His two-headed snake is stuck outside. There are only two Battle Beasts in here!” Augustine’s Killer Wasp was levitating in the air. Aside from its poison stinger, it was also carrying six poison bombs in each of its arms.
Moreover, Andre’s Lethal Scorpion was also flickering every once in a while. It was obviously accumulating power to unleash a skill!

The referee knocked on the centipede, but there was no response. In response, he then looked at the secretary general’s viewing platform to seek further instructions.
The subordinate of the secretary-general picked up the microphone and said, “Mr. secretary-general says that it doesn’t matter. He believes that once the enclosure is removed, the victor would be decided.”
“Rosetti, what should we do?” Lawrence was very anxious.
“Trust the captain, there shouldn’t be a problem…” However, Rosetti’s terrified gaze had already betrayed her words.
She had only spoken those words to appease Lawrence.
Some of the spectators who did not place any bets began to leave the arena.
“It’s over, let’s go…”
“Alpha University is too strong, there’s no longer any suspense in their battles. What’s the point in watching..”
“Let’s go, let’s go…”
Back in the centipede’s enclosed space, the three Alpha University students had taken up a new strategy.
They were no longer attacking relentlessly.
Andre shouted, “Locke! To be honest, I admire you very much. Although you’ve killed the person I sent to recruit you, I’m willing to overlook the matter. As such, I hope that you can appreciate my kindness and join us. You will receive unimaginable resources!”
As expected, the wretched middle-aged man from before was Andre’s subordinate.
“You are the only one in this continent who that has been recruited twice by my Young Master! Alpha University is a place where the strong gather! Once you’ve joined our ranks, you’ll obtain all the money and woman you want. Kneel down and swear allegiance to my young master!” Augustine was keeping close watch on Locke.
Locke dug his ears and said indifferently, “What the f*ck is wrong with you nobles? Why do you always want others to kneel for you? If you like kneeling so much, why don’t you kneel yourself?”

Shaw barked, “Brat! How dare you talk to our young master like that! Do you not want to live anymore?”
Andre gritted his teeth. He knew that Locke would not submit to him.
After adjusting his state of mind, Andre opened his eyes and laughed sinisterly. “Hahaha… Have you forgotten about the rules, Shaw? We’re not allowed to kill anyone! Otherwise, we can kiss the Dragon Core goodbye! However, there’s nothing stopping us from making him a cripple! Locke, it’s a pity, but you’ll lose all your limbs today. You can regret your actions on the hospital bed…”
After a pause, he shouted, “Release!”
The three poison-type Battle Beasts had finished accumulating their power!
“Ci… Ci… Ci… Ci…”
At this moment, a burst of gas was released in the enclosed sealed space.
The Killer Wasp had thrown all of its poison bombs onto the ground.
The Alpha University instructors who heard the gaseous explosions revealed gratified expressions.
It was a tactic that they had thought of the previous night.
They did not expect Andre and the other two to execute it so perfectly.
“The young master’s future is limitless…”
“That’s right. Once he obtains the Dragon Core, his strength will increase even further. Once that happens…”
“We’ll annex all the Beastmaster schools on the continent!”
While the instructors conversed…
Andre and the other two leaped out of the enclosed space.
“W-What happened to Locke?” Lawrence’s mind started to run wild once he noticed that the other three were unscathed.
Rosetti’s began to tremble. The Alpha University students were poison experts. Although Locke was indeed powerful, there was no telling whether or not poison affected him.
After all, most experts would usually succumb to poison.
“Mr. Secretary General, the referee asked whether he should declare Alpha University as the victors?”
Secretary General Peter did not respond to his subordinate’s question. His eyes were fixed on the platform opposite him.
“What’s the rush? Is he certain that Locke has been defeated? As a referee, he needs to be more careful!”
Although those were his words, Peter’s hands were trembling slightly.
“Congratulations, young master!”
“How many consecutive championships has this been?”
“The Dragon Core is ours!”
Alpha University’s preparation area was filled with jubilation.
The flag of Alpha Academy in the audience area was waved even more fiercely, and the cheers were endless.
Just when everyone thought that the situation was set, a few loud noises came from the enclosed space!
“Boom! Boom! Boom…”
Augustine and Shaw immediately turned around towards the source of the noise. This meant that Locke had not been knocked out by the poisonous gas.
“He’s definitely on his last legs! Let’s unload all of our mana and defeat him in one go!”
Augustine and Shaw unleashed even more mana from their bodies, and in response, their Battle Beasts released even more poisonous gas into the enclosed space.
Suddenly, Augustine’s eye flung open!
He could not believe what he was feeling!
He…
He could no longer contact his Killer Wasp!
‘What on earth is going on inside?’
After shaking his head, he tried to calm himself down. ‘I wasn’t serious just now, let me try again!’
However, after closing his eyes, he was still unable to get a hold of his Battle Beast.
He was not alone.
Andre was unable to contact his Battle Beast as well!

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

Notebook of possibilities
First of all, to those who started reading this I want to apologize. While it does have a ring of a nice story title, this is going to be a place where I take the Sparks of interest from other stories or random ideas and just put it down, I'm not sure how exactly but the title should summarize the basics of what is held within. To say it's a waste isn't accurate, to ask the question why is a good start, why would I want this? Because when I read a story I want to think of so many things I may see or find in the world they envision, all the possibilities that could come about, and maybe, just maybe, some author out there can get their hands on this and it will be a spark of creativity for them to make a new chapter and see their world even a smidge closer to what I think it could be. It is tagged as fanfiction for it will pertain to numerous stories, not simply one in particular. Currently it will include; Oblivion Online Dungeon Heart And many more to be listed as they appear.
