Chapter 151: 151
As the most famous Beastmaster in the sacred city, Dickens’ statement had benefitted himself more than it had benefitted Locke.
However, Locke did not mind. The underground bosses did not have a good reputation to begin with, and as such, he did not want to make any contact with them if possible.
Therefore, he appreciated having Dickens as his spokesperson.
Moreover, Dickens was very obedient. Thus, Lockee would rather leave the troublesome matters of dealing with the underground personnel to Dickens instead.
“Hurry up, don’t waste my time…” Locke did not want to stay with these guys for too long.
At this moment, a wretched-looking guy rubbed his hands together and said, “Mr. Locke, I don’t mean to offend, but I’d like to ask, are you going to fight them alone?”
Locke sized the guy up. “Is there anything wrong with that?”
“Of course not! But since there are quite a number of Beastmasters in that group, I’m worried that you might lose to them, hehehe…”
His words immediately resonated with the other bosses.
“That’s right, Mr. Locke. These people operate in groups, and with the help of the Boosters, they have a near endless supply of mana…”
Although the other bosses did not say anything, their eyes were filled with doubt.
Locke looked at the group of clowns. He knew that as businessmen, they liked to do things in a steady manner.
It was then that Lil’ White crawled out of Locke’s sleeve and slithered up to his shoulders.
Lil’ White’s appearance had scared the bosses so much that their faces turned pale.
Sensing that Locke was enraged, Dickens immediately served him a cup of coffee and snapped at the other underground bosses, “Stop talking! How dare you question Mr. Locke’s strength? Do you need to be reminded of his strength again? Shut your mouths! Otherwise, he’ll wipe all of you out as well!”

Although Dickens seemed to be riding on Locke’s coattails…
Locke did not mind. Dickens was a necessary evil that he did not dislike.
He stood up and said, “Let’s go. I don’t like to waste time…”
Hearing this, everyone immediately moved aside and opened up a path to Dickens’ large coffee table.
One by one, the underground bosses pressed the controls in their hands, causing the coffee table to retract, and to reveal an underground passage.
‘The underground business is truly a secretive bunch.’
“Mr. Locke, please don’t take it to heart. In our line of work, we have to be careful…” Dickens took the lead and led the way. “Mr. Locke, please follow me!”
After passing through a few broad flights of stairs.
Locke finally reached the underground.
It was completely different from the surface.
There was no city hall, and there were no policemen.
The law and order underground was maintained solely by the Beastmasters there, who were all above average in strength when compared to their surface-world counterparts.
They were all people who had been exiled by various large organizations on the surface.
Meanwhile, there were also people who were working in the underground to make a living.
“There are over fifty shops in this area, and they’re all under my jurisdiction…” Dickens called over his subordinates, and told them to open a path for Locke.
Although they were all people of different backgrounds, they were surprisingly obedient.
Upon hearing Dickens’ order, both the drunkards and the peddlers immediately stood aside.
“Not bad! I didn’t expect you to command such authority…” Locke looked at Dickens in a new light.
Upon reaching Dickens’ actual office, Dickens unfurled map and began to explain to Locke.
“More than two hundred years ago, a giant earth-type Battle Beast died here… As time went by, only its skeleton remained. My predecessors excavated and developed this place into what you’ve seen today…”

Locke horizons had been broadened.
Upon closer inspection of the map, he realized that this place was really huge.
It was about half the size of the Holy City.
Moreover, Dickens’ territory was only a small square within the map.
The boundaries of the area were very well defined. None of the factions had interfered with one another. Each of them had concerned themselves only with their own business.
It could be considered as mutual prosperity.
Dickens took out a red pen and drew on the map. He had drawn a circle that covered at least half of the map.
“Those newcomers have already occupied half of this place. They are asking us to leave, and they’re threatening to annihilate us if we refuse…”
Locke nodded, finally understanding the situation.
At this moment, a lackey ran in with a panicked look on his face.
“Bosses! They’re here again! They say they wish to speak to you!”
“How many people are there?”
“More than two hundred exiled Beastmasters!”
Upon hearing the number of people on the other side, the bosses’ expressions turned ugly again.
They had suffered heavy losses in the previous conflicts, and as a result, they no longer had much men to retaliate against them.
“Alright, lead the way!”
Upon gaining Dickens’ approval, the lackey immediately led everyone out.
…
The newcomers had already encroached on Dickens’ territory. They took whatever they saw and beat up anyone who stood in their way.
No one dared to fight back.
“Hey! Where are your guards?” The leader was a high-level exiled Beastmaster with several scars on his face.
“Do they even have anyone left to defend the place? We’ve wiped out their defensive force that consisted of bronze-tier Beastmasters last time, remember?!”
“Boss, we should demolish their shops! There are more goods coming from Gold City. We need some new warehouses!”
“Yeah, our supply can’t keep up with the demand!”
The man with scars said, “Alright then! We’ll build our warehouses here then. We’re going to rule over the Holy City with our products. Most of you have never entered the city before, so you don’t understand how prosperous the Holy City place is…”
After making a turn at a corner, the group of intruders had come face to face with a young man and several underground bosses.
“Dickens, where did you find this kind from? He’s a lil too young to go against us, isn’t he?” The scar-faced man had sensed Locke’s mana. He was undoubtedly a Beastmaster.
“Hand over your territory, and I promise that I won’t kill you…”
“I’ll even let you stay down here! You can be our warehouse manager in the future!”
The leader’s words had caused his subordinates to laugh out loud.
“Kid, I strongly suggest you to rethink your actions. Go home and help your mother tidy up the kitchen. There are no candies here for you to eat…” The scar-faced man was very confident, and he was making light of Locke.
It only took a single glance for Locke to realize that they were mobsters.
“I’ll give you three minutes to leave this place. There are already enough Battle Beast skeletons here…” Locke said indifferently, his expression cold.
These words surprised the other party, and he laughed loudly again.
After all, Locke looked too young, and the foreigners had no clue who he was.
“You’re courting death, kid!” A lackey jumped out and immediately ordered his cockroach Battle Beast to attack Locke.

She labeled both of them as Humanity's Traitors and sends them into a dungeon where they were supposed to live. That is, with their masters and comrades, the Devils and their minions. The monsters in the dungeon were not likely to accept them as allies, instead, they were out to devour the delicacies that appeared in their home. The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
