The Devil's Cage Chapter 579 – Perforated
Translator: Dess Editor: EbonyFrost
[Deadman’s Gaze]!
[Fear Illusion]!
Following the thoughtless stare at Kieran, the black cap mantled players all fell into a whirlpool of death. Each of them felt like a giant hammer smashed through their chest, gushing mouthfuls of blood and plunging to the ground, absent of any signs of life.
All fell except one.
[Fear Illusion: Target’s Spirit has failed authentication, the target’s intuition has passed authentication. Target will receive an attack equal to the wearer’s Spirit attribute rank. Detected target has Talent “Stubborn Brain”, prioritized talent, judging triggered, the target is freed from Lethal attack…]
The black casual dressed man gushed out a mouthful of blood but he didn’t fall and limp, instead, he turned and ran for his life.
The man ran even faster when the green light filled with life energy shone over him.
He was recovered to his prime form within an instant and didn’t forget to hurl out three more flying knives as he sprinted away.
Sou Sou Sou!
The flying knives flew out like bullets, aiming towards Kieran’s face and throat.
Kieran, however, didn’t even dodge as if he didn’t notice the flying knives were aimed towards him.
“Careful!” Blacksmith warned him out loud.
After their confrontation, Blacksmith knew how scary the flying knives could be.
At the very next moment, Blacksmith’s jaw dropped before she could even keep away her awe.
The three flying knives were caught by Kieran with his bare hands without missing a beat. He moved so fast that even Blacksmith couldn’t see how he did it.
Eventually, all she could see was Kieran thrashing the knives like paper, rolling them into pieces of junk metal and flung them aside.
“Pierce through space? It’s nothing but deceiving tricks to the eyes!” Kieran said calmly.

With his energy overflowing, the moment Kieran arrived the hostile Donaville Street, he didn’t even turned off his [Tracking] vision and with [Tracking] activated, most things before his sight would be revealed to him in extreme detail, including the knives that he trashed.
The knives were really able to distort light and deceive one’s eyes yet the hidden trajectory would not change.
Sou!
A pitch black negative energy chain appeared out of nowhere beside the casually dressed man and bound him on the spot.
[Spectre Grip, Shadow Chain]!
Despite how the man struggled, it was useless before Kieran’s absolute strength.
“I…”
The man spoke as Kieran approached him.
Whether was it threats or begging, unfortunately, Kieran had no intention to listen to what he said.
He raised his leg and stepped down on the man’s head.
SPLAT!
The man’s head burst open like a watermelon crushed by a truck, the white and red brain fluid became mushy and even stuck to Kieran’s boots.
Fortunately, when the body disintegrated into light particles, the mushy brain fluid vanished as well.
[Player Killed: Terry]
[Treated as self-defense through authentication]
[Categorized as an Honor Kill]
[Detected target has limit broken character model template!]
[You will receive 150% of the Points and Skill Points of the player…]
[Total: 30, 000 Points and 10 Skill Points]
[Received the player’s house key]
[Granted the right to use the player’s house]
[All the player’s belongings are returned to their house]
[Honor Kill: 84]
…
Together with the previous group of ten’s contribution, Kieran current points skyrocketed to 400,000 Points and Skill Points were at 115!
After mumbling “murdering, arsoning yet awarded with a golden belt” in his heart, Kieran’s attention was caught by the line [Detected target has limit broken character model template!].
He quickly went over the battlelog notifications and saw the man’s talent.

“Talents…”
Kieran muttered the term from his mouth but his heart had started to burn fiercely about the “Character Model Template Limit” missions.
Judging from the current information he gathered, once a player completed “Character Model Template Limit” missions, talents would be bestowed upon them and the player’s strength would go through a drastic change.
But when the reminder from Lawless rung in his head, he frowned.
Right after that thought, he quickly shook his head, discarding the useless thoughts out of his mind.
“What happened?”
“I’ll tell you on the way!”
Kieran asked Blacksmith as they were shuttling through Donaville Street.
Blacksmith frowned before the question though, seemingly wanting to say something else but when the words escaped her mouth, it became the answer Kieran was seeking.
…
“Plek! Plek!”
Coll was climbing out from the rubble of the ruined house, struggling to get up with his ash-covered face.
“Damn it! How was their strike so accurate! I…”
“Hanses! Hanses! You dumb cow, are you fine!?”
Coll was grunting frustratedly but when he saw the broken shield and a bloody Hanses beside him, the grunts turned into a surprised cry.
After the blastwave struck Coll, his head was still ringing hard yet he quickly staggered over to Hanses with wobbly steps.
“If I say I am fine, can I really be fine? You dumb cow! I’m really dead, you think you still can see me eh?”
Hanses caught the crying tone within Coll’s voice and just as Coll was about to cry a river before his chest, Hanses pointed at the tall building ahead.
More precisely, the turret at the top of the building.
“See that?”
“Yeah!” Coll nodded.
“I’ll go divert their attention, you think of a way to get rid of that turret!”
Hansas finished his words quickly and started to sprint towards one side.
Dak Dak Dak Dak Dak!
KABOOM! BOOM BOOM!
Gunshots and explosions sounded all together, trailing Hanses’s movements.
Coll stared blankly at Hanses’s figure disappearing through the complicated streets. After three to four seconds, he only came back to his senses of what he had just done.
Pak!
Coll slapped himself and quickly made his move.
“I can’t wait anymore! Hanses is risking…”
Pak!
Another slap from himself stopping the discouraging words escaping his mouth.
The movements of his hands became faster as well.
A small remote control car similar to a kid’s toy dashed out towards the turret at the tall building under Coll’s control.
Coll had entered his special trance mode when controlling the remote control car. It felt like he was controlling his own arms, not only did he easily avoid the usual enemies’ sight, it even dodging stray bullets and explosions shrapnels from other places with ease.
Soon enough, the remote control car reached below the tall building.
Ding!
Coll pressed the button on his remote control and the flame booster lighted up below the remote control car.
Right off the bat, the remote control car flew up high like a rocket.
“Yes!” Coll clenched his fist in excitement.
However, another voice sounded behind Coll at that moment.
“Hmph! Childish!”
The voice wasn’t high pitched but was enough to make Coll feel like he had fallen into an icy abyss, causing his body to shiver.
Coll clearly felt the presence of the person behind him was cold and humid like a snake climbed over his neck.
He instinctively reached out to the gun at his waist but before he could touch the handle, a long sword stabbed through his abdomen.
Puk!
Coll tilted down at the blood dripping long sword through his stomach.
KABOOM!
The roof of the tall building afar exploded brightly like a blooming flower.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
