Chapter 77
Nine-star potential? The Perfect Genetic Chain?
The terms were overwhelming to Tang Ling . He felt like a beggar who was told that he had the whole Safety Sector to himself .
However, Su Yao was obviously not pleased about it . Quite the contrary, his explanation might be simple, but Tang Ling dared not to fully believe it and still had some lingering doubts .
Both of them sank into their own respective emotions . They sat opposite each other in silence for a long time .
Then, Tang Ling finally spoke, “Uncle Su Yao, are you saying that the Genetic Chain Measuring Machine isn’t accurate enough?”
Fei Long and Yang Kong’s assurance about the accuracy of the machine was still swirling in Tang Ling’s mind .
A sneer appeared on Su Yao’s face as he said in disdain, “Are there any good things in this place? It’s only normal that the machine isn’t accurate . The theory behind the machine is that it captures the wavelength of your brain and visualizes it, then analyzes it . It might seem very precise, but in fact, you need a powerful spirit to feel your own self . If your spirit can only support part of the talent that you feel, you’ll only see what your brain shows . Do you understand? That means that this cheap measuring machine doesn’t have the ability to really measure talent . It’s only reading what you feel from your own self . If you’re restrained by something, it’ll also display the restrained result . ”
Finally! Su Yao’s answer solved the most significant doubt in Tang Ling’s mind . He was being restrained by his own spirit, hence he was only able to see three locks behind the mist .
The other locks that he could not see would not show up on the machine either, but the fact that he was unable to see the other locks did not mean that they did not exist .
However, why were his talents all locked behind the mist? Tang Ling looked at Su Yao, trying to find out the answer .
Su Yao also seemed like he knew what Tang Ling was thinking .

He stood up and put his cigarette out with slight impatience . Before Tang Ling could even ask, he said, “In conclusion, when others enter the ‘silent state’, they can all realize their full potential . If one spends a lot of time inside, it’s because the spirit isn’t enough to support the ‘silent state’, hence they are unable to fully immerse themselves in the condition .
“Your condition is a little special . All you need to know is that the mist is a type of protection . As for why, don’t ask me . I won’t answer you . ”
Su Yao frowned after he said that, appearing strict like never before . “Remember, your potential and your Perfect Genetic Chain must be kept a secret . It’s even bigger than your Precise Instinct and the ‘it’ in your chest, do you know that? You cannot tell anyone about it, and I mean anyone !”
Tang Ling was slightly surprised by Su Yao’s reminder . Was having the full potential not a great thing? He was not a high profile person himself, but would displaying his potential appropriately after he entered the First Reserved Camp not earn him more attention? As a result, he could exchange his potential for more resources, could he not?
In this era, fighting for resources to survive and to enhance one’s strength was somewhat an instinct that was branded in the bones .
“Don’t you believe me?” Su Yao was offended when he saw Tang Ling’s reaction .
“No, if it’s based on your request, I’ll keep it a secret, Uncle Su Yao . ” Tang Ling’s reply was straightforward . Compared to his trust in Su Yao, what was a little doubt in his heart?
Su Yao’s anger faded and was replaced by comfort .
Tang Ling was inherently a good kid . It might not be easy to walk into his heart, but once he entered, he would reply with trust and promises, and a serious attitude towards the relationship . In other words, he would not disappoint .
Although it was only reasonable for Tang Ling to behave like this, the inherited power was already great to begin with .

When Su Yao thought about it, he seemed to drift away .
His thoughts had drifted far away through the window as he looked at the tall walls further away .
However, Tang Ling suddenly thought of something important . He asked, slightly worried, “But Uncle Su Yao, in the last part, there was some external force that helped me see all my potential . Does it mean it’s also branded in my brain? I…”
Su Yao regained his senses . It seemed like the kid noticed the essential point of the whole thing nonetheless .
He only smiled at him and said smoothly, “That isn’t what you feel on your own . That machine can never capture that external force . Even if the machine is 10 times more advanced, it’s impossible . In that exact moment, what you saw is only considered as an irrelevant image noise by the machine . After all, everyone’s display of their own Genetic Chain appears in various forms . It might be several stars in the night sky or a few goats on a grassland .
“The image in your brain will be affected by the interruption from your imagination . Like, uh, when you feel there are too few stars in the sky and it’s a little lonely, you can imagine more stars to brighten up the sky or you can imagine that there’s a herd of goats on the grassland . That’s what we called image noise . Using the common measurement, the only real thing is what your spirit can attain, so your Perfect Genetic Chain is still a secret . ”
Is that so? Su Yao’s answer assured Tang Ling, but he still had many questions about the whole exam aside from the Genetic Chain itself . What was that external force? What about the seed in the heart?
Nevertheless, Tang Ling did not ask away since he could sense that Su Yao was avoiding his questions .
“Anyway, give it your best when you go into the First Reserved Camp . ” Su Yao obviously wanted to end the conversation .
Tang Ling said in an upset tone, “Uncle Su Yao, you seem to know a lot about my potential . You are also very powerful, but why did you send me to test my potential? And why must I get into the First Reserved Camp?”
Su Yao felt helpless . This kid is really smart . He latches onto all the loopholes and blasts me with questions .
So what? Su Yao did not know how to make up stories, but he was a natural at being a rascal . He looked at Tang Ling with a provocative gaze . “Because I wanted to, so bite me . ”
Tang Ling flushed . Do you think I don’t want to? I just can’t bite through your thick skin!
“Go and get prepared . You need to report to the First tomorrow morning . You are starting to give me a headache . Do you know you are eating until I’m about to go broke?” Su Yao snatched the opportunity from Tang Ling and stopped him from talking . He kicked Tang Ling’s backside and sent him packing .
Tang Ling went packing with gnashing teeth, but he suddenly turned around when he was at it to ask softly, “I’ll be there in the First Reserved Camp for two years . Uncle Su Yao, you…”
Su Yao leaned against the window and said calmly, “Don’t worry . I won’t abandon you . I’ll go visit sometimes, and I did promise you to tell you something if I have the chance . ”
“Mm . ” Tang Ling was then assured .
“All you need to do is stay in the camp obediently . I’ll have my ways to contact you . ” Su Yao’s voice sounded tender . Still, he could not help but remind Tang Ling again, “Remember, even if you are forced into a desperate situation, you can never speak about your Perfect Genetic Chain . Do you understand?”
“Mm . ” Tang Ling folded his sister’s dress and put it inside his luggage .
Su Yao turned back to the heavy and tall wall as he muttered to himself softly, “Of course, in the future, those who know will know . ‘He’ has once again guessed it correctly . ”

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.

This soul would eventually develop into a human with immeasurable power...but this story isn't about him its about a young boy who was thrust into this whole mess before anyone, and has to figure out how to be strong enough not to repeat the future. ----- The paper read Humanity's last stronghold has been breached under the text a picture of what he recognized as New York, and above it an odd date. “December 8th 2028” Tomb mumbled to himself in shock, “what am i doing 6 years from the present” As if the man had supernatural powers, he heard Tom “Going insane from mana, you crazy mage did you just realise it only took us 3 years to pulverize you fools” the man maniacally laughed. Then turning towards the tall man, he got serious and said “Kanna, if you had just surrendered yourself at first we would have made this takeover much quicker, but you” the man seethed with anger “you fought back, nothing is worse than humans standing together.” The LIT RPG elements have been planned for the future and will not be the main focus but more will be written I assume around chapter 10

Tags and content warnings are checked for the sake of my creativity in the future, it might or might not be included. This is my first novel, and also, English is not my native language, I beg your mercy. But I am open to any feedback and constructive criticism, so let's make the story more enjoyable to read! Chronosseum is scheduled to release one chapter every three days (for now).

My Isekai
For those not familiar with the isekai genera, this story is about a man waking up in an unknown world. The story follows his journey and life in this world, which does not only look different on the surface, but the common norms and values of this world are very alien to the modern western mindset. How will this average western person respond to such a world, and how will it change him. For those familiar with isekai, this is a western take on a predominantly Japanese story format. It draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese isekai, but it also tries to tackle a lot of tropes that might be annoying to the western mindset. The story is not written for young boys as the story tries to take a mature take on some typical clichés and assumptions made by both the typical writer and reader of the genera.
