Chapter 358: Human Affection Inconsistencies
Chapter 358: Human Affection Inconsistencies
“Light Armor Warrior? Yeah! Why is there an additional Light Armor Warrior on the platform!?”
Suddenly, everyone’s attention was shifted to Feng Luo, who was fully equipped in his Light Armor Warrior equipment set .
It was because, after Feng Luo used the traction line and the intelligent hook to “fly” over to the platform, he had been staying put at the entrance to the VIP area, attacking only with the Eye of the Thunder! Due to the energy supply cut all across Silvermoon City, the illumination on the platform came only from a few tools used by the players . Even with the sky constantly illuminated by other players, visibility was still quite low!
In addition, an entire minute after Feng Luo got on the platform, everyone was busy dealing with the infected beasts and birds . As a result, they only now noticed that there was another person on the platform!
Watermelon Skin—who had previously seen Feng Luo through the screen of the communicator—recognized Feng Luo immediately even though he was completely covered in his Thunder equipment set . As such, though he was initially looking very down and anxious due to My World’s infection, he looked surprised and said, “Ah! Brother Feng! You… When did you get on the platform?”
Feng Luo had said that he would be with them soon . But due to the sudden influx of infected beings, which blocked off the only sky tunnel and the appearance of the scary Level-50 Deep Sea Octopus Commander monster, Watermelon Skin thought that, even with Feng Luo’s strength, it would be impossible for him to get to the platform . At best, he thought Feng Luo would be able to reach the lower part of the hotel .
To his surprise, not only did Feng Luo appear on the platform, but he’d also used his points to exchange for an antivirus serum with the longest duration and gave it to My World .
“Big Brother Feng!”
“Brother Feng!”
Watermelon Skin, Azure, and the only Heavy Armor Warrior player left in My World’s team, Steel Fortress, looked at Feng Luo in surprise . As for Skynet, since Ultimate Heavy Armor had already notified him, he knew that Feng Luo was there . It was also Feng Luo who had spoken to Skynet directly from behind, telling him that he didn’t walk over to them . It was only after finding out that My World was infected and didn’t have enough points to buy the antivirus serum that he used his points and authorization to obtain a serum before passing it to Azure!

As for the 50 points he needed, perhaps that was a lot to other players . After all, points were things one could use to exchange for a “Permanent Enhancement Potion!”
However, for Feng Luo, who had long been injected with the W-virus and possessed the permanent Enhancement Potion, these points weren’t all that valuable . In addition, since he already had resistance to various mutations of the Primary Evolution Virus, he didn’t need the antivirus serum . That was why, to Feng Luo, these 50 points weren’t anything important .
Furthermore, My World and his team had been protecting Old John and the other two for a long time . Although they were protecting Old John due to the fact that they had accepted a mission, the other two NPCs weren’t on the protection list, and they had been helping out either way . So, to Feng Luo, this favor was worth more than an antivirus serum .
Apart from that, there was another factor to consider . Although Feng Luo had been speaking to Skynet earlier, he had seen everything that had occurred . In addition, the day before, in the Withered Desert, when he’d first met these players, My World’s act of prioritizing the safety of his teammate while staying back by himself had impressed Feng Luo quite a bit! Although his equipment was average, My World’s personality and skills were quite decent!
As such, Feng Luo felt that those 50 points were worth it .
“Big Brother Feng… Thank you!” Azure said with gratitude overflowing from her face as she extended her hands to grab the metallic tube filled with green liquid . It seemed to be emanating life force . Then she injected the liquid into My World’s arm .
“Thank you… Brother Feng!” My World was slightly older than the others, so he was more mature mentally . Although he didn’t say much in regards to Feng Luo extending aid, he was actually very grateful to him and had mentally engraved this in his heart . Although his equipment was common and it would be quite impossible for him to repay Feng Luo’s favor, he would never forget his help! Both of Feng Luo and My World felt they owed the other a favor, mostly they had similar personalities .
******
The game had players with good personalities and attitudes with bad equipment . Conversely, there was also no lack of players with good equipment and negative personalities!

The Scout player from North City focused on how Feng Luo appeared on the platform . When he found out from Watermelon Skin’s conversation that Feng Luo came from below the platform they were fighting on, his face immediately brightened .
“Who are you?” he asked . “How did you get on this platform? Does the platform have another entrance or exit?”
He had decent equipment, and though his three other teammates had slightly less impressive equipment, each of them still had one or two pieces of Rare-grade equipment on them . However, since the monster in the opposite building was a Commander-grade monster with more than 300,000 HP, he didn’t believe that the players on the platform had the strength to defeat the Octopus Commander . Or, to put it another way, even if they could defeat the monster, he believed they would have to pay an extremely heavy price!
And for him, he didn’t believe that the items dropped by the Commander-grade monster would be worth it for him if he dropped his equipment in the process . That was why the Scout player from North City was reluctant to fight against the Commander-grade giant octopus .
The only reason they were preparing to fight it was because the Commander monster was located right above the tunnel, and half of the tunnel had been blocked by the corpses of the zombies . Basically, they had no choice and could only stay on the platform! As such, seeing Feng Luo get on the platform meant they might have a glimmer of hope of avoiding a battle with the giant octopus Commander!
******
Judging by Azure, Skynet, Watermelon Skin, and the others’ eyes, Feng Luo already knew that they weren’t exactly fond of the Scout player, so he didn’t bother to even respond to him .
Instead, he approached My World and the Heavy Armor Warrior, Steel Fortress . After seeing My World recover from being injected by the antivirus serum—his bloodshot eyes gradually returning to normal—Feng Luo asked, “The antivirus serum can get rid of the T-virus infection; however, you and Steel’s armor seemed to have been badly damaged . Do you guys have backup gear?”
My World and Steel Fortress didn’t reply . They certainly did have some backup equipment . However, in the three hours of battle, they had been engaged in a lot of fighting, and they had already changed into and damaged their backup equipment .
After all, equipment in the game wasn’t cheap .
Not everyone could prepare fully and have equipment of a sufficient grade all the time!
Seeing Feng Luo ignoring him, the Scout player’s expression sank . “Brother, I’m talking to you… Your attitude…”
Feng Luo’s complete disregard annoyed him greatly . After all, he was a person who had made a name for himself using one of the strongest guilds in North City . For a person like him, who loved to gloat, the worst thing one could do was to ignore him!
However, before he could speak, the Light Armor Warrior in his party had a subtle change in expression and quickly said something in their party channel .
“Really!?” the Scout player asked in a whisper, his face appearing slightly distorted .
“Yes, it is definitely the Thunder equipment set…”
The Light Armor Warrior looked at Feng Luo’s equipment with surprise and admiration .
Other professions—or perhaps lower-class Light Armor Warriors—might not have been able to recognize Feng Luo’s equipment .
However, as a Light Armor Warrior with one to two Rare-grade pieces of equipment equipped, he could tell with just a glance that Feng Luo’s equipment was not only a full set of Rare-grade items but an entire set of Light Armor Warrior equipment . It was considered the best of the best!
More importantly, he also recognized the consistent blue and black style of the five-item set that the Huan Yu Company had auctioned off a month before at a price tag of 3 . 5 million credits—the Thunder Armor!
As an elite player from a large guild, other than checking one’s guild emblem pinned on the chest, the grade of equipment was a common way to evaluate a player . As such, faced with My World’s small party, who only used very common gear, they didn’t think much of them . In fact, they were very casual toward them .
However, Feng Luo’s Light Armor Warrior equipment set was at least 10 times more expensive than his own . All of the Scout player’s equipment combined would only have been worth around one-third of Feng Luo’s . As such, he quickly voiced his opinion to give the Scout player a reminder .

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!

Epoch: An NPC's Tale
Epoch is a slow-burn LitRPG/Gamelit novel that tells the story of Luke, later named Lucius—a natural inhabitant of the game-like realm of Elyssia where thousands upon thousands of detached, virtually unkillable entities known as the Players were suddenly introduced right after the dusk of the magnificent Age of Heroes. Shortly after the Players arrived, the balance of power in Elyssia instantly shifted. Kingdoms fell, wars were waged, alliances between races were made, and Lucius, after ten years of training in captivity, found himself being used as a pawn in a prophecy that he had no intention to fulfill. With aspirations and desires of his own, Lucius must find a way to cautiously adapt to the drastic changes in the very foundations of the realm after being sent 300 years into a future that was forever altered by the outcome of the war that his captors had lost and the Players won in a victory that resounded throughout the ages, all for a terrible price. Author's Note As an avid fan of the LitRPG genre myself, I wrote this novel with character progression, heavy Gamelit elements, and some degree of world-building in mind. If you like these, please feel free to give this novel a try. Oh, and the MC is also an NPC, in a sense. And wait, isn't this also an isekai story? Well, it's all a bit complicated to explain here. Maybe you should start reading now?
