Chapter 671: 671
Chapter 671: Psionic Bullets
The pitch-black sniper bullet was flying through the air silently, and it was as if the darkness of the bullet was consuming the air.
After the bullet flew over a distance of more than 500 meters, it went into the hole of the Gray Bear SUV that Feng Luo had created with the previous two shots. It then accurately hit the engine of the SUV, which was constructed with the highest defense. Its defense coefficient was even higher than the most elite of alloy shields.
Swish!
The pitch-black substance that was covering the sniper bullet appeared to be affected by something as intense ripples formed on the substance.
The high-strength alloy armor, with a thickness of up to ten centimeters, was practically impenetrable by players’ equipment. Theoretically, no bullet would be able to pierce through it completely.
However, the sniper bullet, with the effect of the black substance surrounding it, created a pitch-black bullet hole on the engine. It pierced through it so easily as if it was a knife slicing through tofu.
“Wow!”
The bullet drilled into the armored interior of the engine, and its velocity remained unaffected by the impact.
However, the black substance surrounding the bullet was continuously fading away. When the bullet was about half a centimeter away from the engine, the black substance had finally disappeared!
However, it had remained long enough to inflict sufficient damage.
The large-caliber B-Grade armor-piercing bullet was absolutely capable of piercing through armor that was half a centimeter thick without the help of a special substance surrounding it.
Dong!
The Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet hit the core of the energy engine. Then, it aggressively burst into a giant orange flame!
Then, right after that, the flame and energy that burst out from the bullet were mixed with the highly active energy particles in the engine.
Upon impact, it created a reaction.
Boom!
Just as the Gray Bear SUV, which was driving at top speed, was about to escape from Feng Luo’s sights, a loud noise came from somewhere above the engine.
An explosion-like energy ball made of flames began to spread through the engine within an instant.
At the same time, the explosion tossed the rear half of the energy SUV, with a malfunctioned rear wheel, forward and then upward.

Then, the SUV, which was moving at full speed initially, rolled over!
Boom!
The Gray Bear SUV, which was worth around a million credits, flew upward from the explosion and fell to the ground on its side. The car body slid forward against the ground while on its side for a small distance before it came to a full stop.
The exploded SUV was a devastating sight to see!
***
“Sure enough, Psionic Energy can be applied to bullets as well!”
Above the cliff, Feng Luo’s eyes sparkled with shock and joy.
The pitch-black sniper bullet that he had just shot at the SUV was not a new, special type of bullet. Instead, it was a Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet that was infused with destructive Psionic Energy.
The effect of destructive Psionic Energy had already been tested on Ghost Weep earlier when Feng Luo and his team had tried to destroy the safe that carried a Cerebrate.
Although Feng Luo did not think about applying this effect to the bullet initially, he ended up deciding to give it a try.
The result of its impact on the SUV engine proved it to be amazingly powerful!
In theory, it would require at least two or more shots to be able to destroy the core armor of the energy engine. However, the engine was successfully pierced and destroyed with just this one bullet.
The Deflagration Armor-Piercing Bullet’s success in piercing through the engine had caused a “wonderful car accident.”
The backup plans that he had initially anticipated using were no longer needed.
Due to him having a vision that was strong and advanced, he was able to see what was happening from his position.
There was already a large convoy from Lu Conglomerate City driving over toward the car accident.
Based on a rough estimate, at least fifty cars were traveling together!
Under this situation, Feng Luo did not even need to attack the September Guild players while they were in the car crash. With the convoy heading straight toward them, all of the enemy players would have no chance to escape. Actually, it was completely fine if the Heavy Armored Warrior escaped because they just needed September Night Rain and the Fire Manipulator to stay put.
However, Feng Luo knew better and had anticipated that the players left in the September Guild were not going to sit back and do nothing.

Dong!
Feng Luo watched as the door of the rear half of the SUV, which was flipped sideways on the ground, was slammed open. A tactical helmet quickly emerged from the edge of the door.
If he were any other average person, he would have most likely shot at the helmet that was exposed.
However, Feng Luo stayed still with the Wings of Death in his hands and, surprisingly, did not shoot.
Just as he predicted, the tactical helmet only peeked out from the door for a moment before going back inside the “safety” of the car.
In reality, the helmet was not being worn by any player. It was used as a decoy.
If Feng Luo had opened fire at that moment, he would have shot at an empty helmet.
If he had fallen for this trick, the opposing Sniper would have earned at least a second to be able to rush out directly and to take cover behind the SUV. Then, he would have had enough time to snipe back at Feng Luo, which would help the other players to gain enough time to escape.
Of course, it was uncertain if the opposing Sniper would even have the bravery to go up against Feng Luo because after that plan failed, there was a period of silence and stillness in the flipped SUV.
After waiting for five seconds, the front door suddenly opened.
Then, a head wearing an alloy helmet peeked out again.
The September Guild’s players were also clever because when the front and rear doors are both open at the same time, the rear door could block the front door and cause a problem for Feng Luo.
In this situation, it was impossible for Feng Luo to hit any of the enemy players’ vital spots.
Additionally, the player who came out of the car was obviously the Heavy Armored Warrior. If Feng Luo could not inflict fatal damage to the Heavy Armored Warrior, then he would not be able to cause much damage to him at all.
The September Guild players’ plan was not bad at all.
However…
Bang!
In the second half of the fight, the twelfth shot from the Wings of Death rang into the air.
A pitch-black sniper bullet burst through the air!
The Heavy Armored Warrior from the September Guild, who was swiftly trying to charge out from the opened door of the flipped SUV, had his head impacted by something like a sledgehammer.
[-5234 HP.]
The bullet, which caused a loss of over 5,000 HP, had hit the Heavy Armor Warrior with such a strong impact that it caused him to fall back.
This gunshot caused the other four players in the vehicle, who had wanted to follow suit, to stay immobilized at that moment.
The bullet that caused the Heavy Armor Warrior to lose 5,000 of his HP would definitely cause the others to lose more than 10,000 of their HP. This amount of HP loss would result in an instant kill.
The Sniper in the SUV had been shouting the word “impossible” for the fourth time in a row.
Although the energy SUV door’s defense could not be compared with the engine armor or an alloy shield combined with specialized material, it was definitely strong enough to disrupt the power of an average sniper rifle by more than 70 percent!
However, this shot from Feng Luo, after piercing through the car door and piercing through the Heavy Armor Warrior’s headgear the same way, could actually inflict a damage shot that exceeded 5,000?
This damage was definitely more intense than what they initially predicted.
Although they had car doors to use as a shield, what if Feng Luo’s bullet pierced through the car again as it had done when it killed their Fire Manipulator?
The September Guild players in the SUV, other than September Night Rain, were all uneasy.
Although September Night Rain was still sitting in place, his original expression, which was filled with anger, had changed into one filled with disappointment.
In addition to the dilemma of being trapped in the car, he felt flustered by the large convoy that was getting closer to them.
Then, at that moment, there was a cold and angry voice coming out from his communication device.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

Voidsong (A NaNoWriMo 2018 winner)
Synopsys: The Empire thought humanity died, and forgot all about it. The Empire is mistaken. A Note From the Author: This story was written as a National Novel Writing Month 2018 entrant. As such, its entire 50,000+ word length was written between November 1, 2018 and November 31, 2018. Overall, I would consider this no more than a polished draft. In that vein, the chapters have no names, only numbers. Special thanks to Chronus on youtube for answering my questions on NATO radio procedures! My Apologies to the Finnish Language, which I have abused in (probably) unforgivable ways to create Twisted Empire names. If anyone is interested, break the names up by commas and toss them into your favorite translation program (I used Google Translate, and tried to avoid umlauts and other accents) for some semi bilingual boni. If I got something wrong (and I know I did… somewhere…) let me know over on reddit and I will see what I can do to fix the mistake. Lyrics, where included, are cited in footnotes.
