Sword Among Us Chapter 168: Pressure
Little North suffered a mental breakdown.
The moment the first zombie was beautifully beheaded by Happy, he already felt like breaking down. But he still did his best to provide an explanation in his heart to convince himself that this was just a coincidence. How could a zombie with a body as tough as steel have its neck so easily cut off?
But this happened three times in succession. Three zombie heads landed on the ground, and Little North suddenly felt that his precious zombies, which he had persisted in leveling up for around two months, had begun to shudder.
Little North could say nothing about that, but Happy looked as if he had just done something very insignificant. He instinctively went to search for the spoils of war left on the zombies' bodies in a very calm manner, even if he found it to be a little disgusting.
After some time, Happy got up while feeling a little gloomy.
High-tier martial art manuals did not drop that easily. The three zombies did not give him a single high-tier martial art manual, but they did drop three low-tier Thousand Corpse Hands, along with an Iron Corpse Robe, some money, and a bottle of medicinal liquid that was used by zombies to repair their bodies.
"For you."
Happy very naturally tossed the medicinal liquid to Little North.
The medicinal liquid landed near him, and it let out a clear sound when it rolled on the ground.
'Hmm?'
It was only then that Happy noticed that Little North's expression was a little too dumbfounded. He had his mouth hanging open, and he stood rooted to his spot with a blank gaze. He looked as if his soul had escaped from his body.
'Oh no! My performance was a little too over-the-top!' Little North's reaction made his heart sink a little, and he rubbed his temples, feeling a headache brewing.
In truth, he could not be blamed.
Since Mystical Realm zombies had perfect bodies, very sturdy flesh, were filled with poison, and possessed the combat abilities from when they were still alive, they were incredibly dangerous and difficult to handle. It could be said that they were extremely unpopular among the players in Happy's previous life. In fact, no one wanted to use them to practice their martial arts.
It was only during the later stages of the game that someone accidentally discovered that they had a fatal weakness —when the backs of their heads were struck hard, their sturdiness would be weakened to a certain degree, and their levels would be equivalent to that of a powerful martial artist who had yet to activate their body fortification technique. However, only the part on their necks would be weaker. Their other parts would still be as hard as steel.

During the later stages of the game, people began to slowly understand how to use that weakness and began to slaughter zombies madly, making it so Ten Thousand Poisonous Palms to be sold on the market in stacks. Once the secret was exposed and spread, antidotes and all sorts of medicinal pills that reduced the effects of corpse poison appeared on the market. It was also at that time that Happy entered the mass graves.
What he did just then was driven by pure instinct.
Happy did not even think about using normal methods to kill a Mystical Realm zombie, because that would make him spend too much time. Also, the Thousand Year Corpse King was right in front of him, and because of his excitement, he forgot a few things.
But fortunately, he had mentioned that he had fought zombies in other places before, so he soon regained his composure.
"Hey! How long do you intend to stand around looking like an idiot?!"
Little North finally moved a little, but he did not say anything. He turned his head around, looking like he was deeply hurt. His tone was full of anguish and resignation when he finally did open his mouth. "You mentioned that once zombies reach Mystical Realm, they'll be very difficult to destroy."
"Then did I tell you that the weapon in my hands is a weapon that can easily break all masterpieces?"
Happy easily made up a white lie, because he still did not want the secret of the zombies to be revealed so quickly. If that happened, he would affect the operation of the game to a certain degree, and it would also weaken his advantage and resources.
"Ah!" Little North ran toward him in high spirits. "Really? Let me have a look!"
He lowered his head to observe Happy's Hundred-battle Saber. Even though it was black and appeared very normal, the three slashes Happy had delivered just then seemed to have come out of a legendary sword. Little North looked at the Hundred-battle Saber as if he was looking at a national treasure. His gaze was filled with respect and reverence.
"Go away, don't waste my time." Happy would definitely not allow him to continue looking at the saber. "Hurry up and lead the other zombies over here," he said impatiently.
As he spoke, he went on guard. He made the decision to not let Little North watch his movements too clearly later. If he recorded them and uploaded on the net, the secret would definitely be noticed by some ambitious people.
Also, while it was a small matter for him if the zombies' secret was discovered, it would be very problematic if Dragon Capture was discovered!

It dealt no damage, but its crowd control abilities were very strong. If someone noticed it and announced it, he would lose the advantage of surprise, and it would also mean that he would lose a killing move.
Happy gave a stern warning to Little North before they continued.
Every single time after, Happy deliberately made Little North run far into the distance before he took any action. He would execute Dragon Capture, deliver a heavy blow, then a swift and clean beheading. Everything was done in one smooth motion.
When there were only a few zombies left, the Thousand Year Corpse King finally noticed that something was wrong. Its black pupils flashed, and it suddenly vanished from behind the last few zombies.
Since it was too quick, Little North did not notice what had happened straight away.
When he eventually realized it, the Thousand Year Corpse King's skeletal-like deformed body had already appeared in front of the Blessed Realm zombie, blocking its path like a ghost. Its actions could not be seen clearly, but it gripped the Blessed Realm zombie's neck and lifted it off the ground as if it was a feather.
It was only then that Little North noticed that something was wrong!
He covered his mouth and sucked in a sharp breath. Even though he was filled with fear, he did not even dare take a deep breath.
His Blessed Realm zombie was just one hundred and sixty-five feet away from him. The Thousand Year Corpse King was very close to him right then, and with the slightest movement, he could attract the attention of the puppet killer at the peak of Mystical Realm.
Clang!
The Thousand Year Corpse King suddenly swung its right arm. A clear whistle of metal clashing against metal could be heard, and a throwing knife was knocked off its trajectory. It sank deep into the grave on the side.
Creak!
The corpse king's head was knocked to the side, and its black pupils moved.
The figure of a young man in blue robes appeared in the Thousand Year Corpse King's black eyes. Its gaze focused, and a terrifying blue glare lit up.
The Thousand Year Corpse King flung the Blessed Realm zombie in its hands away and vanished again.
Bang!
The dark blue saber glare suddenly changed directions and made a slash to the side. A loud and dull thud rose, and the Thousand Year Corpse King's figure was revealed before Happy.
However, the Thousand Year Corpse King had been blocked by the unexpected slash, and his plan to ambush Happy had failed.
Happy did not have a good time though.
The rebound that came from the Thousand Year Corpse King's arm nearly sent his weapon flying. His purlicue hurt, and he was sent far away with his saber in hand. He took three continuous steps on the ground before he finally regained a steady footing.
Happy did not have time to sigh about the terrifying power contained in the Thousand Year Corpse King's deformed body. The corpse king only shuddered a little before he vanished from where he stood.
If Happy had not practiced his martial arts to the point that he no longer needed his eyes to observe his enemies from his previous life and could rely on the feeling of the airflow on his skin and his hearing to determine the changes around him, it would be very difficult for him to figure out the Thousand Year Corpse King's trajectory.
Happy did not dare to meet the Thousand Year Corpse King's attacks head on again.
Whoosh!
He bent his knees and shot away. The gust that blew and tore at the air from the Thousand Year Corpse King's claws grazed his skin.
The wind had passed just millimeters away from him! The bone-piercing chill and wind ripped five claw marks on Happy's blue robes! If he had been slightly slower, he might have already died.
He dodged again!
Happy did not dare to be inattentive. He rushed to a burial mound, but before he could gain his footing, he shot into another direction.
Boom!
Five huge trenches were dug out in the burial mound by the Thousand Year Corpse King's lightning-fast claws. A fierce glint shone in its eyes, and it vanished again!
The human fled, and the corpse gave chase. They never stopped moving!
Little North was so worked up in the distance that his whole body trembled. There was actually someone who could catch up to the Thousand Year Corpse King's speed! But Little North was still rather worried.
Running alone will not help Happy win against the Thousand Year Corpse King…
Right when Little North thought that, a dark blue saber glare shone and cut at the spot where Happy had stayed for a moment. The arc looked like a roll of flowing cloth when it was executed.
The Thousand Year Corpse King's figure appeared right at that moment, and its pure black eyes immediately filled with blue light!
