Sword Among Us Chapter 291 – Exit the Mausoleum
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
The final hall in the second level of the royal mausoleum was filled with a happiness that was born from the people knowing that the entire thing was about to come to an end and they were about to get their rewards.
There were more than seventy corpses of different ninjas strewn all over the narrow tunnel. They could be found every dozen feet.
The few remaining soldier puppets had also been crushed in the tunnel. They used their last moments to protect Yan Dynasty’s royal mausoleum, and although they ended up having their bones crushed, it proved their value.
The Knife-throwing Ninjas’ positions and throwing knives were more troublesome to deal with. However, once they reached the hall in the second level of the royal mausoleum, they found that they could not retreat any further. The people from the two tunnels to the left and right forced them into a corner The throwing knives that sank into the floor, walls, and stone pillars in the hall became their final song of despair before their deaths.
The players finally emerged victorious in the raid, and the trip to the royal mausoleum came to an end.
The loot was distributed calmly after that.
The four sects distributed what belonged to them equally.
Happy collected all the resources in his side of the tunnel. He obtained seven high-grade masterpieces, quite a lot of Soaring Eagle Swords, and money. His rewards were great, but the people from the four sects were willing to let this happen. No one interfered with him taking his loot.
In comparison, they were much more curious about Ninja King.
When they saw him return with the loot, they subconsciously surrounded him from all sides.
“Where’s Ninja King?”
“I’m not too sure about that. If there is anyone who is interested in the tomb to the right, you can go over and take a look.” Happy casually made it seem that Ninja King was held back in the tomb to the right and that he had seized a chance to escape.
“Is the puppet in the tomb that good?”
“Yup, he should be in Moksha Realm.”
“Then if they are heavily injured because of the fight, won’t we have a chance?”
One person in the group was tempted, but soon, the others scoffed at him, and he let his idea die a natural death.
“They’re in Moksha Realm, bro. Even if they’re injured, we won’t be able to do anything to them, and you think that you can kill them? Even if you want to be the third party who benefits, you need to be strong enough for that. Do you actually think those are two puppies fighting?”

The person who had held some hope was rendered speechless.
Happy smiled.
“His words might be crass, but his reasoning is right. I have to say, during the few minutes Ninja King chased after me, I used up three bottles of Dew Pills. If you’re interested in cleaning up after them, I won’t stop you… but it’ll be best if we break this wall and get out of the royal mausoleum first. If you lure Ninja King over before that, we’ll all die because of you.”
In his heart, however, he thought, ‘Ninja King’s gone, but Old Swordsman is still around. If you really end up provoking him, I have to say, you have even more rotten luck than me provoking Ninja King.’
The person who had spoken earlier was so embarrassed he wanted to die. His face turned red, and he smiled foolishly without saying anything more.
“Since Ninja King is not dead yet, we can’t waste time. Let’s attack together and break this Ghost Face Wall so that we can leave the royal mausoleum!” Ouyang Qing said.
There were only around ten Wudang Sect disciples left alive, and they could be considered to be in a very miserable state. When Ouyang Qing heard Happy’s words, he was suddenly very worried. If Ninja King came over and they ended up getting wiped out, he would not be able to handle the emotional shock.
The others felt as if they had been targeted and felt uneasy. They rushed to the green Ghost Face Wall at the end of the hall.
They could see a glowing door through a hole on the wall. It was probably the exit of the royal mausoleum.
“Wait!”
Once they talked about getting out of the royal mausoleum, Happy suddenly remembered one problem, and his face darkened. While facing the puzzled gazes from the four sects, he said, “Let me send a message and ask my friends outside whether the people from Soaring Tiger Sect are still waiting outside!”
There was a brief moment of silence before the four sects burst into a commotion.
The rewards and the things they saw along the way had made them forget about the matter regarding Soaring Tiger Sect they had told about earlier. Right then, when they saw the solemn expression on Happy’s face, they immediately became wary.
*****
[Boss, the flowers are about to wilt with how long we’ve waited. Is there really a need for you to spend so much time to clear the royal mausoleum?]
Little North had nearly fallen asleep in the bamboo forest by the time the messenger pigeon finally arrived, and he instantly poured out all his grumbles in the letter. [They’re still there, but their numbers seemed to have increased. There should be around four hundred of them, I think. Most of them are archers, and they’re in formation. These bastards. Why do they have to be so professional when they’re out robbing people? If they have so much time to waste, why don’t they spend it training and grinding? Idiots.]

Thunderous Battle watched Little North fluently write down his thoughts at great length and nearly rolled his eyes, but he said nothing. When the messenger pigeon was released, both of them became spirited and prepared to work.
Even though Soaring Tiger Sect had numbers on their side and archers locking down the door, they believed that it was not enough to stop Happy.
Soon, a messenger pigeon returned with a letter, and the reply was simple and easily understood.
[Attack.]
Neither of the duo said anything. They just crushed the letter and jumped down from up high. They stepped on the air a few times with graceful postures while flying over Soaring Tiger Sect members’ heads.
“Who is it?!”
“No! There’s someone around!”
The sound of robes fluttering alerted a small number of people who were rather ready for trouble. However, their reaction speed was not good enough. By the time the people from Soaring Tiger Sect noticed that enemies had arrived among them, Thunderous Battle and Little North landed where there was the densest group of players.
They activated their qi realms!
Boom!
They were like tigers who had charged into a herd of sheep. A group of people from Soaring Tiger Sect was swiftly killed.
Ten Thousand Poisonous Palms took away multiple lives with one swing, and quite a number of Soaring Tiger Sect members fell to the ground listlessly with black wounds.
Thunderous Battle fought with even more fury! When his Infinite Sword Technique was paired with Wind Spirit Spin, he could clear an area with just a swing of his sword.
His sword glare increased in brightness, and he did not care about the various weapons striking him. He just slaughtered his way through and left a bloody trial behind himself while rushing straight at the archers.
Whoosh!
When Soaring Tiger Sect’s sect master noticed that his people were dying and the invaders had astonishing strength, he rose up in anger. With a ghastly expression, he stared at the two figures in the crowd, and great puzzlement as well as confusion shone in his eyes.
Suddenly, his expression changed drastically.
“This is bad!”
He quickly redirected his gaze in the direction of the door of the royal mausoleum! He was just in time to catch a hint of a golden figure that resembled a bell in the corner of his eyes. That figure rushed out of the door with a forceful and astonishing momentum, and it went straight for the group of archers across from him. The man was so fast that he was an amazing sight to behold.
Behind the first person came a plump and tall black man. He held a purple-red greataxe with him, and he followed after the golden figure with a mighty and domineering presence.
When he saw the many people outside, the plump black man froze for a moment. Then, he looked at the yellow-dressed person in front of him who just kept charging forward without turning back, and an endless amount of heroic spirit instantly rose in his eyes.
“Damn you all!”
He gritted his teeth and let out a muffled growl that sounded like an oppressed beast! Then, he moved like a mobile combat fortress and rushed into the crowd!
The archers of Soaring Tiger Sect had been paying attention to the gate all that while. Even though someone had appeared to disturb them and attracted their attention for a moment, the people at the sides noticed the duo who had charged out of the royal mausoleum at first notice. Without any hesitation, they rained down a shower of arrows on them!
However, once the arrows reached the person in the front, they were immediately knocked away by the golden bell around him. He did not slow down and charged straight into the group of archers right in front of him.
The person in black armor was equally terrifying.
When he swung his greataxe, an unending stream of axe shadows rose around him, and most of the arrows shattered or were blown away!
“Kill them!”
The thirteen staff-using monks and the elites of Beautiful Robes Faction charged out of the royal mausoleum with the force of a tidal wave!
Soaring Tiger Sect’s sect master sucked in a sharp breath and swallowed the order he was about to give. He stared at his own people in disbelief as the four intruders threw them into chaos, and his face turned pale.
He ended up poking a hornet’s nest!

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. But those sinful and demonic forces that had hidden themselves in the shadows just couldn't help themselves could they? They wanted a piece of that prosperity too. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.

(un)Lucky
After dying on his hospital bed, Jack is surprised to once again regain consciousness. Turns out he’s in purgatory where he learns that God has been pretty into gaming lately… you already know where this is going, don’t you? Yeah, yeah, I know, another LitRPG story like many others. SO original… But why then do we keep reading them and looking for more? The answer, for me at least, is because they’re usually just plain fun. That’s all I hope my story can be: fun. No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Don’t ask me why.
