Sword Among Us Chapter 419 – Zhou Yu Appears
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
More heroes from all over the game entered the valley, but they could not quite understand what was going on anymore. Once two people who looked like players inserted themselves into the plot, the people who showed up late could no longer understand what was happening, and they could only quietly observe the progression of events.
After Ding Minjun’s reminder, the expression of Mistress Annihilation changed, and she called out loudly, “Zhiruo, kill him with one slash!”
Zhou Zhiruo remained still while holding Heavenly Sword. With a pale face, she looked hesitantly at Zhang Wuji, who was still young and had an honest look on his face, then at her mistress, who spoke brusquely and harshly. She felt incredibly uncertain of what she should do.
Zhang Wuji showed her mercy, and it made her incredibly uneasy. She was worried that her mistress would mistake that as a sign that there was a private relationship between them and that the martial artists would treat her as a traitor of Emei Sect.
“Why are you still waiting?! Hurry up! Kill him!”
Zhou Zhiruo thrust forward, and Zhang Wuji was struck on the left side of his chest.
The teachers of the six system-allocated sects and even the abbot had not managed to win against him, but he was stabbed by a weak woman with average martial art skills.
The expressions of people from the six great system-allocated sects and Ming Cult changed.
Mistress Annihilation smiled coldly. “As I expected.” When her disciple returned dejectedly, she said softly, “Good disciple.”
She then looked at the people from Wudang Sect. “Great Swordsman Song, the five sects have lost in the hands of this boy named Ceng A’niu. Wudang Sect is the only one who hasn’t sent anyone out, so the survival of this evil cult will depend entirely on your sect!”
Song Yuanqiao said nothing. He scowled at Zhang Wuji, who had been injured badly by the sword and could not last much longer.
Zhang Wuji was filled with indescribable grief and indignation when he was injured by Zhou Zhiruo, but he did not retreat. He even shouted at Wudang Sect, “Wudang Sect, will you send someone over!”
The moment he finished speaking, a young man shot out from Wudang Sect’s camp. There was hatred in his eyes when he looked at Zhang Wuji.

“I’ll do it!”
The young man was, naturally, Wudang Sect’s Song Qingshu.
When he saw that Zhang Wuji had taken care of Zhou Zhiruo and that Zhou Zhiruo had only attacked him when Mistress Annihilation urged her to, he felt jealousy burn in him. That was why upon seeing that Zhang Wuji was injured badly and could barely stand, he could no longer hold himself back and stepped out. He wanted to get rid of his future rival in love.
“You already lost, and you still dare to come out?!”
Ancient Tomb Sect’s Phantasmal Shadow took a step forward and blocked Song Qingshu.
When the players from the six great system-allocated sects saw someone stand in front of Zhang Wuji, their jealousy and envy reached their peak, especially when they learned of Phantasmal Shadow’s identity. They knew that another strong woman would soon become known in World of Martial Arts!
The person who was the maddest in the crowd was Dream Clouds.
The person who was her greatest threat on the Phoenix Rank was no longer Wind Void, but Phantasmal Shadow, who had recently risen to power. If Phantasmal Shadow successfully gained Zhang Wuji’s favor and helped him live through the disaster, even if she did not manage to learn Heaven and Earth Great Shift, Ming Cult would give her great rewards to so she would become much stronger.
“Wait!” After Dream Clouds thought long and hard about it, she left the crowd. “You’re not a Ming Cult disciple. This is a matter of Ming Cult, so what does it have to do with you? If you want to fight, I’ll entertain you.”
A silver veil and head accessory inlaid with cold covered Dream Clouds’ face when she walked out of the six great system-allocated sects with dainty footsteps. Her action instantly attracted countless people’s gazes.
“I see, so it’s Class One Hall’s master, Dream Clouds. I’ve heard of your name for a long time.”
When Phantasmal Shadow saw her attire, there was no way for her to continue, and she sighed in her heart.
By then, however, Zhang Wuji had learned from Song Qingshu that he had just decided to vent his anger on him because of Zhou Zhiruo, and he was incredibly angry.
“Miss, don’t worry,” he said resolutely. “Song Qingshu won’t be a problem to me… Let’s fight!”
Song Qingshu tapped against the ground repeatedly in a swift manner. His longsword slashed through the air, and he executed his killing moves right from the start. He was determined to take Zhang Wuji’s life.

However, the players in the area knew that even if Zhang Wuji was injured heavily, there was still a natural chasm that was very difficult to cross in terms of abilities between the two young men.
Zhang Wuji’s Heaven and Earth Great Shift had reached the seventh realm. He sat down cross-legged and handled the fight with one hand. He turned all physical attacks delivered at him into nothing, and Song Qingshu simply could not land even a single sword slash.
Song Qingshu’s anger rose. Finally, with a cry of surprise, Song Qingshu used the secret technique of Wudang Sect!
His sword force flashed, and he moved like lightning, instantly arriving in front of his enemy.
Zhang Wuji did not panic. He clamped down his two fingers and pinched the end of Song Qingshu’s longsword, then exerted some force, and the longsword let out a tragic moan before it was broken. Song Qingshu was also injured by Zhang Wuji’s flying sword.
“Wudang Sect, do you still have anyone you want to send to fight?”
Zhang Wuji was like an undefeated God of War. Blood still dripped down from his chest, but he gritted his teeth and persevered.
The expressions of the six great system-allocated sects changed.
“Wudang Sect has already used up all their strength. It looks like it is Ming Cult whose destiny has yet to end. I can only sigh in despair, unable to do anything to you. Today, I will bring my disciples and my junior brothers back to my sect and focus on practicing Taichi Sword Technique until we can try again.”
“There’s no need for that!”
Someone from the crowd suddenly interrupted Song Yuanqiao.
“The six sects might be the leaders for the operation this time, but we martial artists from the other parts of the world have not agreed to this!” The voice was cold and piercing to the ears.
When it traveled through the battlefield, everyone frowned.
The person had a face that was begging to be punched. Forget about the fact that he was dressed in brocade robes and had a hero’s bandana tied around his head, but what was the point for him to act cool by fanning himself repeatedly with a paper fan in front of the elites from the six great system-allocated sects and Ming Cult?
When Happy saw that person, he had a great urge to slap him.
A few people rose one after another from the crowd as well.
They stood together with the player fanning himself with the paper fan. There were five of them in total, and they faced Zhang Wuji while sneering at him coldly.
“We, the Five Sword Lake Immortals, have always moved together. Today, we want to witness just how powerful you are, Ceng A’niu!”
Once they finished speaking, they brought out their weapons.
Bows, throwing knives, normal hidden weapons, and some hidden weapons triggered by mechanisms.
When Happy saw that, he shook his head nonstop.
‘Shameless. They’re far too shameless!
‘It’s embarrassing that I’m in the same camp as this sort of people.’
Many people gritted their teeth in exasperation, but they had to admit that these five could threaten Zhang Wuji.
After all, Zhang Wuji’s abilities had been greatly reduced once he was injured, and whenever he moved, his wound would tear. He could not last for much longer. There was a good chance for them to kill Zhang Wuji using hidden weapons.
Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!
Arrows, throwing knives, and all sorts of hidden weapons came charging over from different directions at Zhang Wuji.
A person suddenly shot out from among the Ming Cult members at that moment. His movements were incredibly swift, and he blocked all the hidden weapons and arrows in the air before landing in front of Zhang Wuji.
“Five Sword Lake Immortals? Aren’t you just five despicable scum?”
The newcomer was a man wearing a white nylon robe. He seized the air with one hand, and a longspear landed easily in his hands. He stared at the five people across him in a majestic manner.
“Zhou Yu? THE Zhou Yu on the Dragon Rank?”
The Five Sword Lake Immortals received a notification from the system as feedback, and their expressions instantly turned very unpleasant. “Why aren’t you dressed as a Ming Cult member?”
“Because I’ve been part of Ming Cult since the beginning. I’m one of the chiefs of Ming Cult’s Phoenix Sun Branch.” Zhou Yu’s smile fell away. “Enough with the nonsense, die!”
Quite a number of players frowned while standing in the crowd.
It was a quest with a proper storyline, but as players appeared one after another, it seemed to have turned into a fight between players. That was a little strange.
“Ding!”
At that moment, every player in the area heard the notification from the system.

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
