Sword Among Us Chapter 587

Chapter 587: 587
The moon hung high in the sky . Gentle light shone faintly on the large slope, and it also shone on the two young men and a woman .
“Thank you for saving me, Young Swordsman Happy . I will remember it . ”
As she spoke, Shi Feixuan stood up, seemingly no longer injured .
Happy was stunned for a moment before he looked as if he understood something . He said with a myriad of emotions in him, “Brother Hou seems to have gone on his trip in vain . ”
At that moment, he suddenly remembered a famous quote by Zhang Wuji’s mother, Yin Susu .
The more beautiful a woman was, the more skilled she was at lying .
He did not expect that Shi Feixuan would be the same!
Shi Feixuan did not appear to have heard Happy’s words . She had her back turned toward him, and she looked at the night sky above her head while she said faintly, “When I met Empress Yin, you seemed to be at Extreme Yin Lake . ”
“That’s right . ”
Happy immediately understood what she meant . At that time, Shi Feixuan had noticed him, so he took the opportunity to tell her that he was searching for Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass for the antidote for the Wudang Sect and Ming Cult disciples .
“Then, I heard that Old Extreme Yin wanted to harm you, Lady Shi, which was why I followed you here . ”
“I see, so that’s how it is . ” Praise appeared in Shi Feixuan’s eyes . “Sir, you are indeed kind and benevolent . You traveled miles for those who walk down the righteous path of martial arts and threw yourself into danger in search for an antidote .
“Then, for me, you went up against Old Extreme Yin and forced him away along with Wan Wan . It’s no wonder why the other sects sing praises for you . You are indeed the model for the younger generation . ”
Happy replied humbly . “Miss Shi, you praise me too much . How can I hope to compete with you? You were alone, and yet you managed to talk casually with Empress Yin without any fear . I only dared to watch from the distance, so you’ve completely outshone me . I’ve made a fool of myself . ”
“You keep calling me Miss Shi, which makes us sound so distant from each other . We’re all wanderers, so just call me Feixuan . ” Shi Feixuan’s affection toward Happy had clearly increased by a large margin .

“Alright, then call me by my name as well, Feixuan . Don’t call me young swordsman anymore . It sounds so awkward . ”
“Happy, you’re really a person who follows your true nature . ”
Shi Feixuan smiled faintly . Even though she did not laugh, Happy felt a sense of delight from her, which made him feel refreshed, as if he had just felt a spring breeze blow against his face .
“I’ve made a fool of myself . ”
“It’s good that you follow your true nature . I’m often envious of people like you and hope that I could wander about the lands without any worry, but a pity, my sect has different rules . ”
After saying those words, clarity returned to Shi Feixuan’s dazed eyes . She brought out something from her sleeves, and she said to Happy, who did not know how to respond at that moment . “Happy, look, is the Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass Physician Wang mentioned like this herb?”
A green plant with three leaves lay in Shi Feixuan’s hand . There were plenty of veins on each leaf, which made it look like there were stars decorating them . They looked very refreshing and enchanting under the moonlight .
“Yes, that is Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass…” Happy cast Shi Feixuan a glance in surprised delight . “Feixuan, how did you get this?”
“I heard about the matter with Wudang Sect and Ming Cult when I came here, and I coincidentally saw this when I was near Extreme Yin Lake, which was why I picked some while I was at it . They should be enough for Great Hero Song and the others . ”
While saying that, Shi Feixuan handed the Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass to Happy .
Happy did not expect that he would obtain Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass this way and praised his own luck . If his qi realm had been slighly lower, he might have stayed behind just to keep himself safe .
If that were the case, he would not have been able to complete the quest, and he might even leave behind a bad impression on Shi Feixuan!
Yet by a stroke of luck, not only did he save Shi Feixuan, but also obtained the quest item, Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass, ahead of time…
Since Shi Feixuan was fine and he had already obtained Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass, there was no longer any need to continue staying in the place .

“Let’s go . ”
Happy did not expect that Shi Feixuan would be the one to say those words .
“But Brother Hou…”
“No matter what, Mister Hou is the successor of Flowers Sect . He is someone from the evil cult, and those in the path of righteousness will never mingle with those in the path of evil . Since there is nothing else, let’s leave . ”
Once she finished speaking, her sword shone, and she left behind some words carved into the ground with exceptional penmanship . Then, she sheathed her sword and she turned around and left in an otherworldly manner .
Happy cast a deep glance at Shi Feixuan’s back and lamented in resignation over what he saw before he turned around and left as well . There were four words that sounded incredibly cold on the ground and were very eye-catching under the moon .
[I’m fine, don’t worry . ]
A cold and callous breeze blew past a lonesome slope and it took away a faint sigh .
*****
After returning to Phoenix Sun County, Shi Feixuan’s appearance caused quite the commotion, especially since she appeared beside Happy . It shocked many people in the game .
If Shi Feixuan was not an NPC, rumors of the two might have already spread far and wide .
But the fact that Happy had been able to “pick up” the extremely popular Shi Feixuan within a short time left many people dumbfounded .
After all, the matter with Zhou Zhiruo had not calmed down yet, and Happy almost immediately caused another major scene . It was only natural then that everyone was shocked .
Countless people cursed Happy for being lucky in envy and jealousy, and they wondered why all the nice things always happened to him .
But only Happy knew that aside from him, only a certain few in the game could easily clear and complete the quest he did .
He searched for the hidden signs serving as landmarks for Beggar’s Sect and quickly rushed to the underground branch of Phoenix Sun, which Beggar’s Sect had recently moved to . Physician Wang and Chen Youliang were there .
“It’s Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass indeed!”
Physician Wang took the herb with extreme excitement and quickly made the antidote, which he fed to Song Yuanqiao and the others .
“Great Hero Song and the rest will need to rest for a while before they can wake up . Please come with me and wait outside . ”
Chen Youliang led Happy and Shi Feixuan away in an incredibly respectful manner .
When they arrived at the courtyard, Chen Youliang wrapped his fist in his palm and saluted them .
“We managed to find Seven Stars Beauty Orchid Grass in time . Great Hero Song and the others should be safe now . Both of you have contributed to this, and I am also considered to have completed my sect master’s great request . ”
He stopped talking for a moment before a troubled look suddenly appeared on his face . “But during the period of time both of you were gone, many of our members were captured by the evil cult, and the secret of the branch might be revealed at any moment, but it is not convenient to move Great Hero Song and the others, which is why I was thinking…”
“Don’t worry . Since we’re here, we will naturally protect Great Hero Song and the others as well as Beggar’s Sect’s branch . ”
As it was expected of a disciple of Kind Boathouse . Shi Feixuan was skilled and courageous . She understood what Chen Youliang was implying and agreed to it without another word . Then, she turned around to ask Happy, “What are your thoughts about this?”
“I’m duty bound not to refuse . ”
It was the quest Happy came for, so he naturally did not have any reason to refuse it .
Chen Youliang was instantly overjoyed .
“This is great! It’d be best if you two served as garrisons here . I could be at ease then . ”
After he finished speaking, Shi Feixuan and Happy frowned, and they looked to the door of the backyard at the same time .
“What conceited words!”
An unfamiliar voice came from outside the yard!
Immediately after…
Boom!
The wooden door suddenly shattered into countless pieces, and they turned into countless sharp hidden weapons that pounced toward the trio in the yard .
Happy took a step forward . With a swing of his arm, an astonishing qi flow with a dull dragon roar swept the countless wooden shards back, and they crashed into the person who had shot into the courtyard .
Boom!

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Glass Cannon
Mortal Coil is the best VRMMO in the market with millions of people playing it! In this game, two best friends made a bet with each other. Whoever becomes the #1 ranked would win. Such a simple bet, but to them, it was like a declaration of war. Being two of the most stubborn individuals on the planet that saw loss as a personal offense, they made this last bet before cutting off their friendship due to some... complicated matters(Don't worry It'll get explained in the book). The problem was, that one was super talented at the game, and the other was super shit. This story revolves around that player. No, not the talented one, the shit one. Hated by many for his rather "uncouth" strategies (one of which included hitting a guy in the back of the head with a wooden board, stealing all his stuff and leaving him stark naked in the middle of the woods), his name is Jack. Oh, and did I mention he's a min-Maxed for health which drives people insane? Unfortunately, as luck would have it, he stumbles upon the worst possible hidden class for him. Warrior of Glass. A class with insanely high attack power... and insanely low HP. He's also given a quest to retrieve a sword in the middle of the Ashen Forest (lovingly nicknamed "Suicide Woods" by the players) and another quest to kill 7 insanely powerful demon lords that roam the lands so he can fulfill his predecessor's legacy. Now, armed only with a veeery high damage output, an unbendable will of steel and his almost nonexistent sense of guilt (emphasis on almost), he still aims to become the #1 player. This time, with some serious handicaps.
