Ceo Unrivaled Chapter 82

"Young master Drake, mind your words, please! This is not the place where you can act what you wish," a stern voice sounded in the doorway of the interview room that startled the staff inside.
Then, the figure of the chairman followed to enter. He was holding a portfolio in his hand with a label 'Exclusive Contract' on the front side.
The man surely heard when Drake called them incompetent and felt his anger started to bubble on his chest.
"This is the interview room," another staff mildly spoke and moved to the side. Then, Sofia entered the room along with the chairman.
The organizers had asked her for help to explain the issue with the existing press contract of the tournament. Although she was not obliged to help the organizers, the lady offered to resolve the issue so things could move on without any misunderstanding from each side.
"Oh, don't tell me what to say! This time, another squad had refused to be interviewed, it seemed that you are really incompetent! Have you deal with those bunch of ignorant gamers?" Drake continued to lash out his frustration and refused to take the chairman's advice. The man did not even look at the newcomer treating them as if they were insignificant.
"Please show some respect to our chairman," the team leader looked down and reminded the man about his brazen attitude. As she looked up and saw the other figure on the side of the chairman, she looked satisfied.
"Hmmph! You have signed an exclusive contract with my company but now, we cannot get in touch with the two contenders for the championship match? This is ridiculous!" Drake protested.
Then he looked at the door and saw Sofia's figure with the chairman. "Ohh, so you have managed to get this ignorant brat to come! Hmmph! Good, you may sit there and proceed to be interviewed." He ordered right away while pointing coldly at the empty chair where a cameraman was waiting.

The chairman shook his head in disapproval. He slowly glanced at Sofia as if hinting for her to speak.
"As the future successor of FDS Press Company, you should respect other people. This industry is just small. A good connection is everything. Anyway, I came here not to be interviewed by your staff but to explain why you cannot force players to show on your live broadcast," Sofia remained on her spot but the way she stood has an invisible force that made her looked like she was towering the people inside. Her hands were hung on each side while her expression looked stiff and unfriendly.
"Bah! Explain? What do you mean? Did these organizers become dumb that they sent you here to talk with me? You are just an ignorant teen who needs to study well. What gives you the qualification to reason out with me?" Drake continued.
"Mr. Drake, you have said that I am ignorant. But right now, it is you who acts like an inexperienced with dealing the people properly in the industry. Or, could it be that this is how you deal with your clients? If so, I won't be surprised if you'll file bankruptcy!" Sofia directly provoked the man. Since he refused to acknowledge the chairman, she had no choice but cut off the man's ignorance in a rude way.
"Kid, you are bold! Listen, this exclusive contract is enough to disqualify your squad! Don't test my patience!" Drake almost threw the contract papers on Sofia's chest. If not for the team leader who raised a hand and stopped the man, the lady would definitely hit.
"I don't know about your exclusive contract since this is between you and the organizers of this tournament. I am aware of its confidentiality. But, what I am going to tell you is about the terms and conditions between the tournament and the players," Sofia paused and started to read the clause of the online terms and conditions.

"Who cares about that online terms and conditions? It is there because it is required when creating an event. I still have the exclusive contract!" Drake frowned insisting on the papers in his hand.
"Tell me, which clause of your contract stipulates that the players are obliged to be interviewed by your press? I have discussed my concern with the organizers of the tournament. Now, it's your turn to present your signed documents! Is there a clause that exists about our publicity?" Sofia probed and the man became silent.
The flipping sound of paper followed to echo in the room as his fingers slowly scanned the documents. Then after a while, he put the paper down and looked at Sofia with a condescending look.
"I don't care about what you want to see!"
"Oh boy! You are so confident in calling me ignorant. But this is how you poorly defend your claims?! Even a law student would laugh at you, Mr. Drake. Don't threaten us for disqualification. This matter was already resolved. We, the participants of this tournament agreed to the terms and conditions only. Not in that contract that you are holding," Sofia curled her lips openly mocking the man.
In fact, Sofia remembered that in her previous life, the online terms and conditions would soon be revised by almost all the admins of any online site. The admins would specify that their company will hold the right to change the terms and conditions without prior notice. This kind of content even caused an uproar and disagreement but in the end, it was still practiced.
When the time comes that such a revision would be done, even Sofia would have no choice but to follow this arrangement.
Fortunately, this time, the organizers did not also think thoroughly about the terms that they had published.
"The lady was right. Young master Drake, this matter cannot be pressed further. Apologies for the confusion that is created by the exclusive contract that we have signed. We cannot blame or force the players if they don't want to show up in the interview," the chairman finally made a confirmation of their misunderstanding.
"So that's it? If this is the case, then, it's better if we terminate this contract!" Drake demanded.
"If you are willing to pay for the termination fee, we won't force you to continue broadcasting our event," the chairman answered,
"Termination fee? We haven't even earned properly for this partnership and you asked me to pay? You are out of your mind!" Drake clenched his face as he felt that he was pushed at the corner of a wall.
"This is part of the contract that you have signed," the chairmen spoke with an emotionless tone.
"It's almost time for the final match. I must return to my squad. I hope you can resolve this misunderstanding with him," Sofia's spoke softly towards the chairman before she left the interview room.

They had long run out of insults and threats to trade and now they waited. For what, not even the Gods knew.
