Secret Marriage:The Wolf And The Sheep Chapter 127

Once the intruder had left,Wolf looked at his sleeping wife and the slight bump on her head. Walking to the medicine cabinet,he took out a first aid box and tenderly applied an ointment on her forehead. She mumbled something in her sleep and held his wrist tightly. Wolf tried to take it back but she wouldn't leave him and only brought his hand to her and hugged him tighter. Touched and happy at her clinging,he pushed back a few hair that covered her forehead and sat down on the floor. He placed his own head near hers and closed his eyes, letting her clutch his hand in her arms. Early in the next morning,Wolf opened his eyes and was greeted by his wife staring at him closely with widened eyes. He blinked at her, feeling a bit of pain in the swollen eye but before he could say something, she pointed at him and then poked a finger at his nose...pressing it firmly like a button, causing it to frown. But she was not satisfied with that so she then touched his har and pulled harshly causing him to protest,"Ouch.."
He pried her fingers away from his head lest she pull all his hair out and once again tried to speak..in vain..Because his little shout of pain had alerted Xie Eun he was indeed real. With a small scream, she launched herself into his arms causing him to lose his balance and the two of them to fall on the floor. Thankfully he was already on the ground otherwise, that would have caused a serious injury..
Laying her head on his chest,Xie Eun clutched at him desperately as if they her been away from each other for years. Her warmth seeped into Yu Seok who hugged her back as tightly as she hugged him..Seeing that he was really here, she gave a big grin, pulled his cheeks before smacking a kiss on each and then put her head back down on his whining,"Yu Seok!!I missed you so much..."

The two people lay there quietly for a while..hugging each other and cherishing each other's presence in their hearts.
It was only after a while that she thought of something. Her head shot up and she narrowed her eyes before looking at him intently.."Who hit you?"
She had only noticed his eyes in passing when she had launched herself at him and thus not realized the bruise that was there..Just as she was getting ready to go hit the person who would raise a hand to her husband,a memory struck her..of her attacking a figure in the dark..."Oh!!Ohh! hubby!I am really sorry that I hit you last night!I was on medication and actually thought that you were a burglar.I am so sorry..By the way,how are you back so early?Weren't you going to be gone or a week?Of course it is not to say that I am not happy that you are back but..why are you not saying anything?Did I hurt you too much?
Yu Seok kept staring at her and Xie Eun finally trailed off that she was not even allowing him to get in a word edgewise. How was he going to answer? Seeing that she had finally stopped for a breather,he simply captured her lips and rolled over so that he now lay on top of her and kissed her deeply...Their tongues entwined and their hands clutched at each other..It was only after a while that the two people came up for air and leaned against each other. Yu Seok ran a finger against her cheek and answered,"You did not do this..And I can see that you too are hurt."
Xie Eun wondered if she was still suffering from concussion as she did not seem to understand what he was saying. She was only aware of their closeness and nothing much so she only nodded and touched his wound tenderly before slowly placing her lips there softly. She then placed soft kisses all over his face. She noticed the tired lines on his face and felt guilty so she pushed him away a bit, forcing him to stand up..And unlike his usual self,he let her go this time..He must be really tired,Xie Eun thought to herself.Otherwise Yu Seok would never let her escape so easily..She caressed his head and the frown lines there eased,"Are you in pain?"He had travelled so much and then slept the night on the floor..She decided that everything else could wait and dragged him to his bedroom and was even more worried when he did not try to coax her into bed with him..She sat down on the bed, pulled him and made him lie with his head on her lap and started to massage his head slowly.

Wolf closed his eyes as her soft hands stroked his and felt himself calm down. He had been avoiding thinking about last night and focused all his thoughts on his wife to get through the night but even then, those nightmares had lingered in the periphery of his dreams. For the first time in his life he felt tired to his bones. His self control at this point was lowest and he felt shamed that he had almost wanted to force Xie Eun just now when she was under him just to reassure himself. Finally, under her soft caresses,Wolf fell into a deep tired sleep. Xie Eun looked at the face and wondered once again who had dared to punch him.She would have to find out soon..

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
