Wallace checked the mission he received from the Pathfinder.
[ Prepare for your inevitable future and reach the apex of your career.
Mission: Retrieve the Cube of Paradox
Mission item: Fervor Timepiece
Mission Reward: Improvement in Mana Affinity
Bonus Reward: If the mission was completed without exhausting the Fervor Timepiece usage, the item will be given permanently to the user with further usage improvement. ]
Wallace noticed that an item materialized in his hand. It is a golden pocketwatch that has an attached chain to allow it to be secured in a waistcoat or belt. He checked the item he received for its information.
[ Fervor Timepiece
A pocketwatch containing mysterious energy that can temporarily accelerate brainwaves and provides physical burst at the same time for 10 seconds.
Number of Available Usage: 5
Once the usage reached zero, the item will automatically be returned to the Pathfinder. ]
Wallace had to stop for a few seconds to make sure he understood the effects of this mystical equipment. By saying that it will temporarily accelerate brainwaves is probably the same as the 4th gen's uniqueness, which is the brain-boosting ability.
Once he received the acceleration after activating the item, the time would probably be so slow in his senses but it doesn't mean that his body could keep up with it. That is probably why the physical burst is added to make him capable of moving while in that state.
As for the cube that the mission mentioned, he already had an idea of what it refers to.
"The Pathfinder is really connected to that cube."
Wallace muttered as he was getting closer to the truth behind this Pathfinder. He wanted to know the origin of this system and of course, he wanted to know his mother's research that led to the discovery of the cube. He knows too little about these details and he could only wait until he uncovers them slowly.
For now, he could only trust the Pathfinder in bringing him to the peak of his path.
Haaa~
Wallace sighed and shook his head as he focused his mind on analyzing the reason why the Pathfinder gave him this mission item. He remembered the first mission he had which rewarded him the Necklace of Clarity, it was very helpful in accomplishing his first task.

Now, the Fervor Timepiece seems to imply that he will encounter a level of danger or event that will lead him to use this item to either save his life or defeat his opponents.
Wallace could only imagine the situation of his spaceship that is containing all his things. He thought that if the location is the only problem, the Pathfinder may have given him something like a compass or detector to locate it, but it gave him something that can be used for combat.
'It seems that there will be a danger to some extent. Did the government of Montego found out about the spaceship? Or maybe some other private organization? Do I have to fight against these people just to get the spaceship?'
Wallace couldn't help but feel nervous just by thinking about it. It would be awesome if he can just find the spaceship safe and sound, then retrieve all his things, unite with the A.I. and get the cube to complete his mission. But that seems to be too good to be true.
Once he located the spaceship, it may be barricaded and surrounded by soldiers or transferred to a secret location full of scientist comprehending the technology it contains.
'I could only try.'
Wallace said as he closed his eyes to sleep. Anyway, there isn't any option to decline the mission and no penalty will be given if he failed. Also, there isn't any timeframe that was given to accomplish it so he can only try doing his best to the current plan he decided, but he has to take an even more proactive approach this time.
***
On the next day, Wallace occupied his father's workshop to try creating berserk potions. He might need the assistance of this potion in the other country, so he decided that he might as well make as much as he can while his father is here to guide him.
He checked the status of the only successfully made potion.
[ Berserk Potion
Temporarily puts the Magician to Berserk State once consumed.
Lasts 20 minutes.
Berserk State: 150% increase in the user's ability.
Restrictions: Can only be consumed by Magicians. Ordinary people can die upon consuming.
Side Effects: The magician will experience Weakened State for 2 minutes after the Berserk State ended.
Repeated usage will decrease the effect of the Berserk State. ]
After checking the effects of the potion, he was even more inspired in concocting one.
He then checked the list of ingredients and instructions listed in the recipe provided by the Pathfinder.
[ Berserk Potion Recipe
Main Ingredients
- an adult Worm of Madness
- stomach pouch of Spirit Rage Spider
Supplementary Ingredients
- 70 ml of scourge tree juice
- 9 grams of hazel blossom grass
- 7 venom mint leaves
- 10 ml of mirage owl's blood
- 50 grams of dragon clove powder
- 8 drops of Bittermace worm mucus ]
Wallace seriously read again the steps that are required in making the potion. He wants to make sure that he won't miss anything once he started making it again. Due to his failures yesterday, his available resources now is only good for 8 batches. Luckily the supplementary ingredients can still be purchased in many apothecaries. Only the main ingredients would be a challenge to acquire, especially to those that lack connections to certain people or organizations. After all, these ingredients can only be found in some dangerous territories.
For the six attempts he would try later, he was hoping that at least 1 or 2 potions would be successfully concocted.
Although there is no mission to create this potion and not really in line with the path he had chosen, he believed that his knowledge in potion-making would give him some benefits in the future.

Ministry of Magic Education, Zairus City.
Within the conference room of the building, six people were discussing a certain issue that was pressing them.
"The Congress has contacted us again, they are requesting assistance in deducing the components of the Cryptic Link Serum they've retrieved from that organization's research facility." A plump middle-aged woman with long black hair said as she got the attention of the 5 other people seated. She is the only female in the conference room. She showed them the formal written request coming from the Congress.
Silence permeated in the room.
"Sir Chester, would you like to take the task?" An old man in the 70's seated in the center finally said as no one responded at the lady's announcement. He has a well-combed gray hair and shows a very neat appearance in his casual attire.
"Does the Congress lacks potion experts now? How about those old men in NMTI?" Chester frowned. He is the Head of the Mage Doctor of Medicine department in the Ministry. His achievement in the field allowed him to enjoy this grand status even though he's only 30 years old. He also has a lot of tasks to do so he was a bit unwilling even though he was quite interested in the serum.
"They also received a request but they're not making any progress. This Cryptic Link is said to be a project that spanned for more than two decades, so it wouldn't be easy even if we have a sample." The old man replied.
"Fine, but I can't guarantee any timeframe until I saw it." Chester finally gave in as no one could handle such a task in the room. He can only think about how to accomplish this task later on.
"Donna, tell them that we'll make arrangements. Also, remind them that there's still a competition in Montego that we have to prioritize." The silent Hayden Fraser, the Enneadic Magician, assigned in the Ministry concluded the topic.
"Understood." Donna acknowledged the man's instruction and immediately made an arrangement.

No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
