Blood Elf Monarch Chapter 47
Advertisement
Extracting blood from around 50 orc corpses gave Tristan 300 points of Blood Essence, meaning, he obtained an average of 6 Blood Essence for each orc. The result was pretty decent, especially considering that the human he extracted from before only managed to give him 2 points of Blood Essence.
This time, Tristan did not bother hiding the fact that he just used his Blood Extraction skill in front of everyone. Though what appeared was not blood, but just a very thin, red mist, everyone in the group must have realized that he just used elf magic of some sort on a pile of corpses. Tristan had no reason to explain the true nature of the mist to the others, but Layla had noticed it and started to worry. Considering how the goblin called Tristan a 'blood elf', he could understand why Layla was worried.
After extracting the blood essence from the orcs, Tristan walked towards Piyo's corpse and started to loot his items. He took a pair of small crossbows, something that appeared to be tiny explosive cartridges, along with the item that had caught his interests for a while.
The thing on Piyo's wrist that looks just like an oversized wristwatch.
Tristan unclasped the item from the corpse's wrist and put it on his own. Before he could react, a slight, dim glow appeared on the bracelet and the system installed in his head responded.
[Connecting to OPR Device]
[Integrating system]
[Device Synchronization started!]
[20%... 60%... 90%... Synchronization completed]
Tristan was caught off-guard by his system's response. Considering the notifications, it seemed that something beneficial just happened, but on the other hand, this event made him realize that he knew almost nothing about the system installed in his head. What else could this mysterious device in his brain do, and what are the limits?

Also for it to automatically do this thing without his consent worried him.
Tristan aimed the device attached to his wrist towards Seth to give it a try.
[Target scanned]
[Human, Male]
[Battle Power: 42]
"Ah, so it measures someone's combat prowess and converts it into numbers. Seems simple enough." Tristan mumbled and turned around to aim the device at Barry.
[Human, Male]
[Battle Power: 45]
Barry was a little bit stronger than Seth, which gave him a little bit of relief. Now that he had confirmed the device is safe to use, he aimed it towards his sister
[Human, Female]
[Battle Power: 13]
[Spirit Force: 32]
Tristan was a little surprised when he saw the numbers. Before, Layla had told him that she has around 10 battle power and 30 spirit force, but it seems that her power had increased in the span of a few days.
This made Tristan wonder, how does it actually work?
Tristan made a mental note to ask the Magus Guild more about it. However, he was more fixated on Piyo's dead body at the moment. He can't resist the temptation to do his extraction skill.
In the end, he decided to give in
[Blood Extraction]
[Received 100 mid-quality blood cells]
[50 Blood Essences extracted]
It was a decent amount. Though it was not as much as what he obtained from the corpses of the orc champion, it still a pretty big number. From this attempt, Tristan could conclude that a fighter around Piyo's current level, which is a silver-badge adventurer, would give around 50 blood essence. Logically, a stronger fighter would be able to provide him with more blood essence.
Tristan grinned at the number of Blood Essence he obtained today. But, his happiness was once again interrupted by an ear-piercing scream full of grief and anger.

"PIYOO!!! What did you DO! You BASTARDS!"
It was a scream by Borin, who had just awoken. He could clearly see his little brother's unmoving body with blood coming out from the side of his head.
"No!!!.. NO!!.. Why... Little Brother... No!!!"
Seeing the sadness and despair in Borin's face, Tristan can somehow relate. However, he was more concerned for his own sister right now. Tristan can see his sister facing away so no one can see her face. He knows that Layla's heart is screaming in pain right now.
Tristan pulled out his massive blade and walked towards Borin before raising his sword at the man. Meanwhile, Borin did not react, he kept on staring at Tristan with defiance in his gaze.
Right as Tristan was about to swing down, Layla shouted in desperation.
"Triss! Don't!... don't!"
Tears had stained her cheeks and more continued to stream down her face, but each word of what she said was laden with conviction. Tristan could see her determination to stop him, and that was enough to make him lower his sword.
Meanwhile, Borin became even more enraged.
"You better KIll me NOW!! Kill ME!! Or Fucking Trust me that I will MAKE You PAY!"
The Truth is when Tristan found a reason to kill Borin, he felt his urge to kill rise up. This is the same chaotic feeling that he had when he killed the poor man from the tavern. But seeing his sister's, Tristan pushes himself to restrain the urge.
All those years in prison, Tristan has seen many inmates, murderers who killed just for a bowl of food, and also those murderers who break after their first kill. Tristan understands the burden of own first kill. He worried that killing the victim's brother again for her sake might affect badly on her even more.
He was trapped in between a rock and a hard place. Releasing the man would just create problems in the future while killing the man would just direct Layla's ire towards him.
Tristan thought for a few seconds, and an idea suddenly came to him. Though he has no idea if this method would work, this could be a good opportunity to experiment on his second skill, considering that he just obtained a large amount of Blood Essence.
[Blood Seal]
[Human, Battle Power 58]
[Blood Seal would require 200 Blood Essence to take effect]

A Bloody Game
Eric Hunter, a boy who took a gamble with his life on the line, soon finds out that the pay off took a very different direction that he thought. Having just awoken from a pre-op only to find himself confused and all alone in a changed world and a hospital consumed by chaos he must do all he can to survive. In a new world where society crumbles and laws are merely pretty words on written paper, how will a boy who has been restricted his whole life live now that there is nothing to hold him back? When everything turns into a zero sum game of dog eat dog, they'll find that The Hunter is an all too willing participant, but he will soon find out that he isn't the only player of this game. First story I'm posting and I don't really have a cool synopsis, sorry everyone, but this story is just another LitRPG apocalypse. I guess the only difference is that the main character isn't a hero. He's not here to save the world, he's not here to make friends, and he's definitely not here to save everyone. He's probably what the villains in other similar stories would be actually. Just writing for fun, advice or constructive critism is welcomed, writing style prone to change. Warning: Incredible amounts of poor grammar, Gore, Profanities, Traumatizing content, and cliches(I plan to have multiple main characters, maybe this is too ambitious for my poor skills, but it seems like it would be fun to try, the other MCs won't show up until later on.) The cover image isn't mine I just found it online. It's a piece by Stephanie Frey This takes inspiration from a lot of great stories on here, but I find the beginning to be most similar to Blood Lust by DefinitelyNotJormlung. Starcraft and Warhammer 40k and survival world rpg by S_Conary will also influenced this (at least that's my plan if I ever get that far or finish this) Also please stay with me until chapter 3. I suck at starting stories, but have been told I get better as I'm further along.

Re: (Union//Incarnation)
Two years ago, a meteor fell and decimated the southeastern lands of Gaia, turning them into wastelands constantly shrouded in white fog. None of those who saw the blazing calamity with their own eyes lived to tell the tale, and those who attempted to venture in never came back. Since then, towers, caverns, and ruins have appeared and disappeared without a pattern. Those who were brave enough to venture in were rewarded with a partner capable of defying the natural laws as humanity knows it. People started to call them ‘Incarnation’, and before long, more and more Incarnation were gathered and sold as commodity, especially after a billionaire has sponsored a fighting tournament offering cash prizes to those possessing the strongest Incarnation, spurring the greedy and desperate to hunt for the fabled creatures at the cost of their lives. Claire Saphira wanted none of that. She simply wished for a life where she could live without worry of her own survival. As she ran from the debt collectors for the umpteenth time, she was swallowed by an errant tower, where she saw a frail, pale-skinned girl with ashen hair hung by chains. It was a chance, a chance to participate in the tournament and live without worrying about survival. Yet, something nagged in the back of her mind. Why did she look so familiar? Planned release schedule: One chapter every day for Mon-Fri, and a break on Sat-Sun. The release will slow down at some point, but most likely won't go under 3 chapters a week.

"I don't know who you think you are coming here, and acting like you don't care about anything. Now listen here Princess, because I'm not going to repeat myself. Here's a couple of rules that I'd like to enlighten upon you. Number one, you do not talk back to me. And two, you don't mess with me or the rules," his breath fans my face and I close my eyes. The proximity between us was terrifying. "I've dealt with many bitches like you, so I suggest that you follow those rules unless you want to end up like them," - he leans in. His mouth lingers near my ear, "used."... "... You might think that you run this place, but you do not run me. Understand? And the sooner you understand that, the better it'll be for the both of us," I warn staring right into his eyes before walking away. I was more than amused by his dumbfounded expression. I stop, and turn back around, facing him, "And one piece of advice, know what you're fishing for before you start fishing.
