The Last Embrace Chapter 144

Seven hours later.
Inside the clinic.
Jessy has been thinking of how to prevent the inevitable...
The truth is she was doubting if Hannah can stick to her promise not to transfer her power to Zain knowing that she loved the prince so much. If she will not do something today to remedy the situation it might be too late to do something later.
She must act fast!
She's busy immobilizing military officials outside the Facility she can't let Hannah create trouble later inside the Facility because the woman was becoming emotionally unstable. The blood transfusion that she has to do every day was already a big responsibility that she was carrying in her shoulder.
The only way to have peace of mind is to transform Hannah into a mortal being as soon as possible so that she no longer have to worry about her.
She will do it tomorrow...
'No! Do it tonight!' a tiny voice appeared in her mind interrupting her thoughts.
Jessy released a deep sigh. "Doc, I will do blood transfusion one more before I retire for the night," she said.
"Okay," the doctor nods his head.
Fifteen minutes later.
Jessy got up from the bed. "Doc, I will just get my friend here, she's the last one I want to do blood transfusion with...please wait for us."
She left the clinic and went to Hannah's room. She found the pregnant woman preparing to sleep.
"Hello... Jess!" Hannah said.
"Hannah, I need to talk to you for a second..."
Jessy sat down on the bed facing Hannah.
"What is it?" Hannah asked.
"I want you to be honest with me...can you tell me what powers do you have?" she asked.
A line appeared between Hannah's brows. "Huh? Why you suddenly asked me about all these things, Jess?"

She released a deep sigh. "Because I'm worried that you will be tempted to transfer your power to Zain and it will create a big problem for me later on..."
Hannah bit her lip. "Just like ordinary vampires, I can hover in the air, moves fast, have superior strength compared to human beings, that's all."
Jessy was debating if Hannah was telling the truth or not. The majority of vampires possess ordinary powers, only a few are born with extra unique skills of power. "Are you sure that's all your power? You don't have any other hidden skills?"
For a few seconds, a gleam appeared on Hannah's eyes but it also disappeared the moment she blinked her eyes.
Jessy saw it!
Hannah must be hiding something from her...
"I don't have any other hidden power, Jess," Hannah said in a serious tone.
Jessy felt that Hannah was lying, she wants to bring the woman outside the Facility to test her powers but she remembered that Hannah is pregnant, dang! She was fearing for the baby's safety.
"Hannah I want to transform you tonight into a human being. Zain is already human so it's only fitting that since you were his woman you should also be transformed like him. I'm sure you don't mind, are you?" she was observing the expression on Hannah's face.
Hannah was looking at Jessy with a hurt expression on her face. "Jess, you don't trust me?"
Jessy sighed. "It's not that I don't trust you. I'm just worried that you will get tempted to help Zain get out of his prison room and transfer all your power to him, that's all."
"You don't really trust me, Jess, but if agreeing to the blood transfusion can give you peace of mind then I will do it."

"You will agree to it?" she just wants to make sure that what she heard is right. "Hope you won't change your mind at the last minute," she said.
Hannah nodded her head in affirmation. "I already made up my mind, if getting rid of my powers can help you ease your mind then let's do it tonight, I'm more than willing to grant your request just to prove to you that I have no plan to transfer my power to Zain."
Jessy smiled feeling better. "Thanks, Hannah, you are not making things difficult for me. Don't worry, as long you will follow all my suggestions, one day you will eventually get Zain's love."
Hannah beamed. "I'm looking forward to that day, Jess!"
"Okay, Let's go now to the clinic, the doctor is waiting for us," she said.
Hannah and Jessy left the room heading to the clinic. While they were walking in the deserted hallways that's also the time the Queen get out of the study room.
The Queen saw the two ladies. "Girls, were are you going?" she asked.
The two ladies bowed to the Queen.
"We're going to the clinic, Mother, I will do the blood transfusion on Hannah tonight," Jessy said.
The Queen's eyebrow knitted together. "Huh? Why?"
Jessy doesn't want to tell the Queen the reason why. "Ah...Zain is already a mortal being I think it's best that Hannah will also be transformed into a human being just like him."
The Queen was frowning. "I have no problem with the blood transfusion, I'm just worried that the transfusion process can affect the baby's health inside Hannah's tummy. Much better if we will consult the doctor's opinion first before we go ahead with the blood transfusion. I just want to make sure that Hannah and my grandchild are safe," there was a genuine concern in her eyes.
Hannah was elated when she saw the Queen's concern on her safety. The Queen adopted her when she got orphaned at such a tender age of 5. That was the year when the anti-vampire vaccine was created, killing many vampires leaving their children to fend for themselves. The Queen gathered all the orphaned children under her wing and give them a home in her kingdom. That's when she was specially picked by the Queen as Prince Zain's companion, friend, and confidante, but sad to say when they grow up the Prince only treated her as a sister, he has no romantic interest towards her.
Jessy looked at Hannah's smiling face, dang! she hasn't thought about the baby's safety while she was thinking of the blood transfusion thingy, this will surely create a problem later.
"Okay, Mother, we will seek the doctor's opinion first," Jessy agreed. If the doctor won't allow the procedure on Hannah on the basis that the blood transfusion process may harm the baby then there's nothing she can do about it. The blood transfusion has to wait and she just has to trust Hannah's word that she won't transfer all her power to Zain.
"I will accompany you to the clinic, girls, let's go!" the Queen said and walked ahead of the girls towards the clinic.
