The Last Embrace Chapter 208

Jessy was staring at the old man for a few minutes, then she whispered something into Adam's ears.
Adam nodded his head upon hearing his girlfriend's suggestion.
"Kids, can I take these foods with me? There are more or less ten homeless people there in the alley they are also hungry like me, I want to give them the leftover foods, at least these foods here are clean," he said.
Jessy nodded her head. "It's okay Grandpa, we can order ten packs of take-out foods for your friends," she suggested.
"Ah—no need my child, that will be too much!" Waldo said trying to stop Jessy from going back to the cashier section.
But Jessy went ahead.
"Grandpa, don't worry that girl is loaded she just won a huge lottery jackpot!" he joked, grinning.
Grandpa was amazed by the different level of the generosity these two kids had, they were so down to earth, the way they showered him with generosity is unbelievable. They must be angels from above sent by God to make him happy on his birthday, he was such a lucky guy!
"Grandpa, I just want to ask you this...do you want to work? Are you willing to work?" Adam asked.
Waldo was staring at the younger man's face. "Work? Who will hire me with this ripe old age of mine? Of course, I want to work for a living but no one will hire me for sure," he said sadly.
"My girlfriend is looking for someone to tend to her garden of roses in her house. She wanted to hire you, you can try for one month if the job suits you, if you don't like you can stop and return here in the streets, but if if you like the job then you can continue working there as long as you want," Adam said.
Waldo was pondering for a moment and then his face lighted up. He wants something different to do with his life, it's tiring living in the streets being homeless all the time. Now that he got an offer from a generous lady...he can't refuse, he will work his best from now on. "I will accept the offer, child," he finally decided.

Jessy comes back into the table. "Let's wait for the ten packs of meal to be delivered here in our table," she said. She called the waiter and requested politely for the leftover foods to be packed as well and be given to the homeless later.
"Jessy, Grandpa here accepted your offer..." Adam said.
"Wow! That's good Grandpa! My lovely plants will love you!" she said. "But Adam, can you accommodate Grandpa to your condo first for at least one week because I haven't informed Nana Aida about him yet," she said, showing him her puppy dog eyes.
Adam smiled broadly. "Of course, no problem, I will adopt Grandpa for one week," he said. He took his mobile device from the pocket of his trouser and place a call on Caden.
Caden answered right away. "Bro, where are you?"
"I'm in a restaurant downtown, come here bring the car, I want you to meet someone!" he said.
"Okay no problem, I'll be there in half an hour," Caden replied.
Adam told Caden the exact address of the restaurant, done talking, he put back his phone in his pants pocket.
Two waiters arrived in their table bringing with them the packed meals.
"Jess, you stay here and wait for Caden...Grandpa and I will bring the foods to the homeless," Adam said.
Jessy nodded her head. "Okay."
Adam and Grandpa picked up the packed meals, they sauntered towards the entrance.
She watched them get out of the restaurant's door until they disappeared from her sight.
Jessy waited for Caden's arrival.
Thirty minutes later, Caden finally arrived, he was parking the car in the parking area outside the establishment.
He went inside the restaurant and walked towards Jessy.
"Hello Jess!" he greeted the girl.
"Hi...Caden..."
"Where is Adam?" he looked for his friend inside the restaurant.
"He is with Grandpa, they were distributing foods to the homeless," she said. Jessy wanted to give a little bit of information to Caden about grandpa. "Caden, we decided to give a homeless old man a chance to change his life, I am offering him a job in my home to tend to my rose garden. His name is Waldo, a 68 years old homeless man living in the street for a long time. I hope you will be kind enough to accommodate him in the condo unit just for one week," she said.

Caden beamed at her. "Jessy, I have no problem with that since I am also an adopted guy of your boyfriend and I am also a homeless guy before I met Adam. I will make sure Grandpa will have a comfortable living arrangement in the condo unit with us, you can be sure of that," he said.
Jessy smiled feeling grateful. "You want to eat?" she gave him the menu. "Chose the food you like and I will pay for it, my treat," she said.
With the mention of food, Caden's face lighted up. "Oh yes! I love free treats!" he said and scanned the menu for the food he wants to order. He pointed the foods on the menu, "Here, Jess! This is my order!"
Jessy took one thousand dollar paper bill from her sling bag and gave it to Caden. "Here's the money, pay your order in the cashier and keep the change!"
Caden's smile widened while accepting the money. "Thank you for your generosity, Jess!" He stood up abruptly heading to the cashier with a big stride, he paid his order and pocketed the change.
The food Caden ordered arrived in the table, he began eating with gusto.
Jessy watched Caden, amused. "Adam didn't feed you well—?" she asked jokingly.
Caden grinned. "Nah, those beauties tire me easily, I told them I can only handle one, but they all jumped at me at once," he said grinning wickedly.
Jessy grimaced. "Ewww!"
Caden laughed after watching her reaction. "Lol, I'm just joking, Jess, as you know, swimming is tiring!" he said and continues eating the foods in his platter.
Jessy grinned.
A few minutes later, Adam and Grandpa Waldo arrived in the restaurant.
"Were done, Jess," Adam said. "Caden, meet Grandpa Waldo here, he will be staying with us in the condo for one week, be nice to him," he said.
Caden looked at Grandpa with only kindness in his eyes.
"Hello Grandpa, I'm Caden, I'm also a homeless guy like you and I was adopted by Adam here, welcome to the family!" he said smiling at the old man.
Waldo smiled at Caden liking the boy already. "Nice meeting you, Caden," he said.
"Caden, after you're done eating...bring Grandpa into the condo with you, Jessy and I will continue exploring the city, see you later guys!" Adam said.
Jessy stood up and linked her hands with Adam. "Bye Caden...bye Grandpa!" she said and they walked towards the door.
"Bye Jessy...bye bro!" Caden replied.
Grandpa Waldo waved his hand at the couple.
...
Jessy and Adam walked hand in hand in the busy streets.
"Where do you want to go next, Jess?" Adam asked.
"Let's watch a movie!" Jessy exclaimed.
"And what type of movie do you like to watch?"
"Superhero movies!" she answered giggling.
Adam chuckled. "Okay fine, let's watch a superhero movie!" he planted a kissed on both her cheeks and they moved on forward trying to find the nearest movie theater in the area.
