The Last Embrace Chapter 225

Jessy, Antonia, and the kids emerged from the cave's entrance.
King Antone was watching his daughter-in-law a few meters away from where he was standing, weariness was covering his eyes.
When she reached his side.
"What happens?" King Antone noticed the disheveled appearance of his daughter-in-law.
"They attacked me, Father, I freeze them all, Antonia here and the kids are the only ones who want to be saved, the rest wants to see me dead," she said in a withdrawn voice. "I will take them now to the Facility, the kids have seen too much killing today, I think they are traumatized. You already know what to do with those people inside, Father," she said in total resignation.
Jessy began freezing Antonia and the kids, ready to take them to their new home in the Facility.
King Antone looked at his men.
"Okay, warriors, let's finish our task here and go home! Those who are wounded can already go back to the Facility, the rest stay with me," King Antone said, he and several of his men entered the cave to finish the one thing that Jessy can't do to the old folks and the women in there, and that is to slaughter them without mercy.
Jessy teleported Antonia and the kids into the Facility.
She put Antonia and the kids in another room that got five clean beds—far away from humans. "Antonia, I will be back tomorrow to check on you, the blood-feeding will start tomorrow morning, take care of the kids," she bid goodbye.
Antonia nodded her head. "Thank you for saving us!" she said in heartfelt gratitude.
Jessy smiled at the woman with kindness and sympathy. She turned around and exited the door, she locked it from the outside.
Huge relief washed over her, the mission is a big success!
There are still so many things to do, yet so little time!
She teleported into her room and sunk her body into the softness of her bed without bothering to change her clothes.

A few minutes later she had already fallen asleep soundly in her bed.

Back in the cave.
After granting swift death to the old folks and women inside the cave, the king's men brought the dead bodies outside the cave and throw them into the pit, then they began covering the hole with the earth.
After making sure that the burial site of the savage vampires is fully covered, King Antone and the white-cloaked vampires extinguish the bonfire, darkness took over the entire surrounding.
They all hovered into the air and began their journey back to the Facility.
While they were floating in the air, King Antone was thinking about the leader, he was expecting that he will appear in their midst out of nowhere and launch a surprise attack on them, but all his waiting was in vain because the leader can't be found anywhere. It's either the leader was not around the cave when they launch an attack or he was the first one to escape after he and his men landed in the cave.
When he and his men arrived in the Facility he immediately went to the function hall to check on his wounded men, the doctor and his assistant were administering first aid on their wounds, good thing no one is undergoing a critical stage, all they have is superficial wound.
The king thanks everyone for a good job done and told them to go back to their sleeping quarters and have a rest.
...
Back in the forest.
One hour and thirty minutes later...
From a distance, there's a shadow hovering in the air and it was approaching the mountain, a figure of a man wearing a black cloak was carrying an unconscious person above his shoulder.
He lowered himself near the entrance of the cave and put down the unconscious person into the ground.
He was puzzled why not a single vampire was greeting him?

Where are they?
Wait—what is that horrible smell?
A strong scent of blood assailed his senses and he recognizes instantly that unique smell which belongs to his kind, aside from the stench of blood, he also smelled something...like burnt bodies.
Jagger immediately went inside the cave to investigate, he already had a foreboding thought that something is seriously wrong when total silence greeted his arrival...
There's blood everywhere, seeping into the soil starting from the entrance of the cave and continues into the clearings of the cave.
Jagger was shocked when he saw the empty cages where the humans used to be held as prisoners.
F*ck!
They're all gone and probably dead!?
All his men were gone as well and the blood he found all over the cave is a clear indication that his subjects were being attacked and slaughtered by their enemies. And their nearest enemy is no other than the ones hiding in the Facility!
He went to his bedchamber and he discovered that the secret door leading towards the escape route was blasted into bits and pieces and the remains were scattered in the ground.
With a grim face, he retraced his steps back into the cave's mouth.
He found not a single living soul inside the cave! He felt a heavy dread settling down in his stomach.
Aargh!
Dammit!
He failed to protect them all!
What a shame!
How can he face his proud and mighty brother like this?
He exited the cave and walked around the surrounding area, he noticed that there was a portion of the clearing that looks like it was newly dug!
Then he saw fingers sticking out from the newly dug earth. When he began digging that area he soon discovered that beneath the soil are more dead bodies of his clan buried one after another. He slowly put back the soil.
Tears were streaming down his face, they were tears of the guilt of his being reckless! He failed his subjects who called him king, fondly.
Jagger howled and cried in despair, pain, and desolation, his teeth were gnashing with extreme anger.
They will pay!
They will pay one day!
One of these days he will attack the Facility bringing death to all his enemies that were responsible for the brutal massacre of his clan. He will surely make them begged for their life!
One day he will have his revenge!
First, he has to think wisely what his next move will be...
Now that he's alone on his own, the rest can wait.
Either he has to commit suicide and attack the Facility alone or...ask the help of his brother. He exactly doesn't have a good relationship with his brother though, that is why he left their camp and brought with him whoever wants to go with him. If he will see his brother again and tell him about the misfortune that befalls on him and his men, his brother will ridicule him and blamed him for what happened because he failed to protect his people and only save his ass, even if he will explain to him that the attack happened while he was away from the camp, he will never listen!
His brother always told him that he's not fit to rule their people.
Now he was hesitating to go back to their camp and asked refuge there. His brother will punish him for sure for letting the enemy kill their people.
He raised his eyes and see the sky above, the daylight was slowly flooding the forest, the sun will come shining brightly soon, he'd better go back inside the cave and take a rest. He needs to do a lot of thinking in the coming days.

Beyond The Game (Abandoned)
Kaine sighed as his foe advanced once more, never letting up, barely giving him time to breathe. He pressed forward as well, excited and ready, welcoming the bloodshed that was to come. His short blade, meeting the bestial warrior's bone-made longsword. Their weapons clattering sound into each of their ears when they clashed. Kaine pushed, as did his foe, beginning the contest of strength. A dance which Kaine controlled the steps of. As their eyes met, both of them weary, but Kaine's expression was resolved...maddened almost. Whilst his foe's was fear-struck, the creature was terrified down to its core. As were its comrades which surrounded them, watching, waiting for an opening to have at Kaine themselves. Seeing many...but they faltered, as the dead had seen the same openings before. Their battered, broken and still freshly bleeding bodies laying sprawled about their surroundings. It is just one... One of them thought in shaken disbelief. Just...Just one man but he kills so many...smiling even! Glancing from the dead, and back at Kaine as he slew another. No...this is no man... Was its panicked conclusion. This one's a monster! As Kaine turned to face it, weapon ready and grinning widely throughout his approach.

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
