That night.

Alex can't be reached by the phone. Lilian was getting hysterical inside the room that she shared with her younger sister, asking herself a thousand times why Alex isn't answering her call. She keeps calling her boyfriend's number on her phone but it says the number she dialed is no longer in service.

She was really—pissed off!

Damn! Why he is not answering my call? Did he already change his number?

Lyra, Lilian's younger sister was staring at her older sister, sighing. "Sis, please stop calling Alex, I think he already changed his number," she said. When her sister gone missing she kept her phone alive and charges it twice a week. Her sister Lilian was calling the number that has been stored on her phone since last two years ago.

Lilian looked at her sister with a raised eyebrow. "Huh? Why would he change his number without informing me first?"

"Sis, can we just sleep first? Please rest for the night, I will explain everything to you tomorrow when you are already well-rested and your mind is clear," Lyra said.

Lilian shook her head. "No! I want to call Alex, I wanted to talk to him. I don't like it when he isn't answering my call, dammit!"

Frustrated, Lyra looked at her sister in the eyes. "Please calm down..."

Lilian sat down on the edge of her bed still not letting go of wanting to call Alex.

Lyra stood up. "Wait a minute, okay? I will show you something..." she opened the door and left the room in heavy steps.

She went down the stairs and walked briskly towards the living room. She searched for the oldest issue of the newspaper that contains the missing advertisement of her sister one month after she disappeared, she also brought with her the latest newspaper edition that was delivered early this morning.

Lyra sighed and went back upstairs. Her sister was acting like she did not vanish two years ago, it's so confusing...the way she was acting right now it was like nothing bad happens to her at all... and it bothered her crazily.

When she entered the bedroom. She breathed in relief after seeing that her sister was no longer holding her phone and was lying in her bed still wearing a scowl on her face.

"Sis, you need to read this..." Lyra said in a calm voice and handed the newspaper to her sister.

"What is this?" Lilian looked at the old issue of the newspaper, a line appeared between her brows after seeing the date of the newspaper. "Huh? Why are you giving me a newspaper dated two years ago?"

"Just read the missing person advertisement section...please...," Lyra said.

Lilian obliged her younger sister's request. She turns the pages and starts reading the missing person section...then her brows snapped together upon seeing her name and photo in there, she read the description below her photo, it stated that she was missing last two years ago.

"WTF!?" Lilian's eyes widened in disbelief. "Is this a prank!?" she still can't believe what she had read in the newspaper.

Lyra nodded her head in affirmation. "Yes, you went missing last two years ago. And here's another proof..." she placed the latest newspaper issue dated today.

Lilian turns the pages and perused the missing advertisement section. There she saw the same missing person's ad with her name and photo. "Holy shit? Is this really—true? How did... I... become missing?... and yet... I didn't have any recollection of everything... why I can't remember why I'm missing....? where I'd been gone during these two years? This is insane! I can't understand why I can't remember anything!?"

Lyra's eyes narrowed. "Huh? You have no idea where have you been during the entire two years of your disappearance? And you— can't even remember that—you have disappeared in the first place?"

Lilian nodded her head. "Yes! I don't remember I went missing! If I went missing for two long years I should have remembered everything...unless...I suffered amnesia during my disappearance and my memory just return now...or maybe I was abducted by aliens?" she just runs out of weird ideas and possibilities on why she went missing.

Lyra was shaking her head. "I dunno, sis. If you can't explain what happened to you during your disappearance then neither do I. It's just weird and odd that you don't remember a thing about what happened to you for the last two years..."

Lilian ran her fingers through her hair in frustrations. "Gaah! This is frustrating, why I can't remember anything!?" she was hitting her head with her fist repeatedly.

"Please stop hitting your head, sister. Please stop torturing yourself, maybe you need to sleep first and have a good long rest before your memory will finally come back. Let's continue this discussion tomorrow after we wake up in the morning. Okay?"

Lilian looked at her sister's tormented face. "Alright, you got a point, let's just sleep." She turns off the lampshade beside her bed and wrapped the blanket around her body and forced her consciousness to stay calm and doze to sleep.

On the other hand, Lyra was hesitating to close her eyes and not wanting to sleep because she was afraid that her sister will disappear again. She was beginning to think that all these was just a dream or a product of her wild imagination.

Is it possible... that when she closed her eyes and wake up tomorrow morning, her sister was still missing, and all these are just a dream? This is fucking ridiculous! she knows deep in her heart that her elder sister just returns today! But why she was doubting if all these were ever happening for real? She looked at the newspapers...they are real...therefore her sister's return is not part of her wild imagination, her sister indeed returned home today!

Tomorrow is going to be a roller coaster ride of emotion for her older sister... Lyra sighed, especially if Lilian will discover that her boyfriend has already moved on from her disappearance and already found someone new, and got married three months ago. She knew that her sister was very much in love with her boyfriend. It's gonna be a piece of heartbreaking news to her sister. If there is only another way how to avoid telling her sister about Alex, she will do it. But no matter how painful the revelation is...her sister must endure the pain and moved on fast just like what Alex did when her sister disappeared two years ago.

The mystery of her elder sister disappearance and sudden return to their house is maddening and completely mind-boggling!

Lyra stays wide awake the whole night watching over her sister... her mind was bombarded with different theories running amok in her mind.

She doesn't mind losing a one night sleep as long she can make sure that her sister will never disappear again. Tomorrow, she wants to see the morning sun shining outside the window of their bedroom and see her older sister sleeping soundly in her bed.

It's the only way she can confirm and convince herself that today is not a dream!
