The Last Embrace Chapter 410

A few minutes later.
Grandpa opened his eyes and looked at Jessy smiling. "You had the gift but you seemed not aware of it. How come you have not explored all your power yet? Are you not interested to discover what they are, explore their uses and honed them to perfection?"
Jessy smiled, she wasn't aware of the undiscovered powers hiding in her mind. She doesn't have the time or the need yet to unreleased them all. "Not now Grandpa, I have so many things to do first. Besides, I already got some powers that are more than enough for me. I already used them many times and they are useful for me."
"Reading minds and erasing memory is the hardest to perfect among your powers because with just one mistake you have the chance to wipe all memory. If you wish I can awaken your power and passed you my power as well so that it's already tailor-made for you, you won't have to learn the hard way and you can use it like a pro just like I do," he offered.
"Wow! That would be awesome! Yes, do it please, Grandpa!" she beamed. She was thinking that if she can have the same power as the queen and Adam then returning the humans to their family will be much easier and faster because she can help them erase people's minds, which would total three-person per week."
Grandpa was silent for a moment.
"Grandpa, what's wrong? Did you change your mind?" she asked.
"No. Ah, let me warn you that you can not erase people's memory successively because it's mentally and physically draining. But you can read people's minds as many times as you like because it's just plain reading. When it comes to erasing specific memory, it's exhausting, because you are altering the human mind and I won't advise that you do it while undergoing blood transfusion. You have to do it without doing another activity so that you can rest after," Grandpa explained.

"Ah okay," she murmured. Now she knows why the queen would always rest after erasing the human's memory. "Okay, I got it, Grandpa," she said.
"Are you ready now?" he asked.
Jessy nodded her head. "Yes, I'm ready!"
When he was about to place his hands on her head to initiate the process of transferring his power to her...
"Wait...Grandpa!" Jessy said.
"What is it now?" Grandpa asked.
"I've changed my mind. I decided not to do blood transfusion with you today," she said.
Grandpa's brows furrowed in confusion. "Why?"
"You see, I'm doing blood transfusion right now and I do it every day. I can't afford to erase the memory of the abducted humans and do a blood transfusion at the same time it will weaken my body tremendously. I can't afford that to happen," she explained.
Grandpa looked at Jessy. "You mean to say that you are erasing the rescued humans' memory of the abduction before sending them back to their family? But why?" he asked in bafflement.
"That's right Grandpa! Because if we don't erase their memories and the government authority will know about it, they will nuke this place, because to them we are parasites and bloodsuckers," she explained.
Grandpa turned silent for a moment. "Hmm, you are right, dear. Okay, so tell me what to do? How can I help you?"
"There are more or less one hundred fifty humans that are waiting to be returned to their home."
Grandpa's eyes widen in disbelief. "Oh dear, that would take me a few years before I can erase all their memories," he grumbled.
Jessy smiled. "You are not going to do it alone, Grandpa, there will be two more people who can erase memory just like you, the queen and her son. So don't worry, it will be over soon. After all the humans returned home to their families that is the time I will convert you into a mortal," she said.

Grandpa smiled. "No problem, dear. I'm ready to help. I just want to request something...can you double my blood ration every day because just so you know...erasing somebody's memory requires optimum health and strength and you know very well that I'm very old already and my body requires more nourishment," he said winking at her.
"No problem, Grandpa, request granted," Jessy answered.
"Okay, now that we're settled, what I'm gonna do next?" he asked.
"Just go back to your room Grandpa, I will bring a human being to your room once a week to erase their memory," she responded.
"Okie Dokie! I'm leaving now," he said, he was about to saunter towards the door.
"Wait...Grandpa!"
"What is it again, child?"
"Can you awaken the power sleeping in my mind especially the mind-reading?" she asked.
"Alright, no problem," he said.
Grandpa went back to Jessy's side and placed his hands on her head.
Jessy closed her eyes. She can feel Grandpa's hands firmly touching her head, she felt a flurry of activity in her mind as if every cell in her brain was being activated and electrified.
A minute later, Grandpa has done awakening the hidden power in her brain.
"Thank you Grandpa!" she said feeling grateful. "Can I read minds now?" she asked.
"Yes, you can. I'm leaving now back to my room. And young lady, don't forget my double ration of blood, okay?"
"Yes grandpa, only after we started the process of erasing minds, OK?" she grinned.
"Fine!" he walked towards the door.
"Grandpa wait...what other powers you have awaken in me?" she asked before the old man can set his foot outside the door.
"You can turn your farts into gold and silver!" he said and pushed the door chuckling. "Just kidding! That's for you to find out!" he smiled at her before closing the door.
The doctor erupted into a peal of laughter.
"Naughty Grandpa!" Jessy shouted, grinning.
"I will get the next recipient in the other room, Jess," the doctor said about to left the room.
"Doc, wait a second. I want to test my newly acquired power which is mind-reading, with you as my subject. Can I read your mind right now?" she asked eager to test her new power.
The doctor's face reddened. "Some other time, Jess," he said and left the room in a hurry.
Jessy was fuzzled by his odd reaction. The doctor's face turned red after hearing her intention to read his mind, hmm, the doctor must be hiding something naughty in his mind that's why he refused his mind to be read today. Maybe he was thinking naughty thoughts of his lady love in his mind and he doesn't want others to know. That would be super embarrassing for sure.
When the doctor returned with a recipient, Jessy was looking at him keenly.
"Are you thinking of her?" she suddenly asked when the doctor was preparing the IV drips.
The doctor stared at her in shock. "How did you know?"
Jessy grinned from ear to ear. "I'm just guessing wildly," she answered and laughed.
The doctor's face turned red in embarrassment.
Jessy no longer pursue the matter to prevent embarrasing the doctor any further.
