The Last Embrace Chapter 413

Jessy took a deep breath, it's now time to tell her mother part of the truth so that she will stop pestering her about it. "I saved a vampire in the forest and transformed him into a mortal with my blood. Then he asked me to bring me to his brother's place which turns out to be where Roden's clan was hiding. That friend of mine was also the bat leader's trusted aide, he didn't reveal to me his identity, unfortunately, my friend did not tell me that he got bitten by a poisonous snake the day before we come to the cave, so he died after arriving on the cave. That is when I discovered Roden...and the rest is history," she explained.
Sarah looked at her daughter's face. "That's all—?" her brows drew together as if not satisfied with her daughter's explanation.
"That's all, Mother!" Jessy answered. Dang! These lying will surely put her in a difficult situation if she won't be extra careful with her story. Once they will stop asking her about what truly happens in the cave then she will be safe. She was hoping all these questioning will be over so that they can now return to their normal lives.
"Alright, I believe you, daughter. The only thing that is important to me right now is that you are safe and you are back with us," Sarah's tears almost welled up.
"Mom, please don't worry anymore. I always take care of myself. I will make sure nothing bad happens to me because I know you and father will get worried about me," she said.
"Alright, let's continue eating our meal," Sarah said, feeling much better after talking to her daughter.
The two women finished their dinner thirty minutes later.

Sarah proceeds to her office while Jessy went back to the clinic.
...
That night.
Jessy was walking in the hallway going to her room, she just finished her third blood transfusion for the day. It's now time for her two hours break. While she was lying in the clinic bed earlier, she already got a plan on what to do with Jagger.
Roden is right, she can't bring herself to kill his brother. If Jagger succeeded with his evil intention and she loses her memory and learned about it after, she will surely kill the two brothers without mercy. Good thing...Roden is more mature and has a good soul compare to his immature brother.
Yeah, she was torn between wanting to harm Jagger and wanting to forgive him as well, and it was creating chaos in her mind.
She got to rid of the bottle once and for all!
A minute later. Jessy was already inside her room, she placed the bottle inside her backpack and teleported into her favorite beach.
Jessy landed in the white sandy shore. She looked around her, the beach was deserted and beautiful as always. The water was calm, there are not many big waves today.
She opened the zipper of her backpack and picked up the bottle, she dropped the bag in the ground and stared at the bottle in her hands for a few seconds.
She locked eyes with the pitiful Jagger, his mouth was moving as if talking to her, pleading probably.
Jagger's identity should be put to death from now on.
With one last look at Jagger, Jessy throws the bottle into the ocean as far as she could, it landed into the calm water with a little splash. The bottle's surface glistened under the bright light of the moon in the sky, it landed more or less fifty meters away from the shore.

From a distance, Jessy stared at the bottle floating in the water.
She was in that position for a few minutes. If somebody picks up the bottle and open the lid or smash the bottle, Jagger will automatically die. If she can't bring herself to kill him then she will let others do the honor. Others might think Jagger is a Genie In the Bottle, she no longer cares.
She picked up her backpack from the ground.
Goodbye Jagger! Jessy said and initiated the teleportation process in her mind back into her room in the Facility.
She landed inside her room, she climbs into her bed and closed her eyes wanting to have a few minutes of nap time.
...
Back on the beach.
Jagger was still reeling from the shock and despair after Jessy throws the bottle far into the ocean.
He was trembling in horror the moment she did it! The bottle was now floating in the water, surrounded by the gentle waves.
He released a deep sigh thinking he was going to die any minute from now if somebody will pick up the bottle and open the lid or smash the bottle, he will be gone for good.
While lying inside the bottle in a somber mood, Jagger began crying like a child. He was going to die soon, and it's all because of his foolishness!
Everything he does in his life was a failure!
He was a total failure!
How his life ended this way?
He can never hate or blame Jessy. She has been good to him all the time. He can never repay her kindness for saving his life enabling him to see his brother again.
His brother Roden must have confided to her that he was planning to erase her memory that's why she decided that it's better to kill him.
Earlier, when she stared at him before she throws the bottle into the water, he saw no pity in her eyes.
This is it, his lonely, meaningless end!
What a shame!
He was looking around him, thinking if there's a shark nearby and will accidentally swallow the bottle that would be his end.
Thank goodness...he can see the murky bottomless ocean floor...but there's no shark around. Well, it's dark below and he can't see anything down on the seafloor.
He looked up at the sky, the moon is shining brightly flanked by millions of stars above.
He released a deep sigh repeatedly. There is nothing left to do but wait what's gonna happen to him while floating in the vast ocean.
Worse come to worst, this ocean will become his burial ground.
He closed his eyes for a moment as tears flooded his eyes again. Then all of a sudden he heard the bottle was being tossed by big waves from all directions, he opened his eyes to see a big shark coming his way, its big mouth was opening wide looking at his meal...damn!...the shark was only a few meters away from him.
"Nooooooooo! helpppppppp!" Jagger screamed as the big jaw of the shark was coming in closer until it suddenly stops a few inches from the bottle...what happened!?
Then out of nowhere, Jagger saw a hand picking up the bottle, blocking his vision, then total darkness enveloped him.
"Where am I?" Jagger shouted.

Journey of Infinite Steps
Science Fiction/ Low fantasy Iliad. Oliver just wanted a job that could keep his family fed, and himself sane. Was that so much to ask for? Apparently. As he instead ends up facing monsters and dodging his way to another world instead. Competent as he views himself figuring out how to reopen a portal back home by himself is defiantly above his knowledge base. Of coarse it would be vastly simpler if he could keep 'getting back home' as his primary goal. 'Staying alive' is unfortunately a far more immediate and relevant goal. I will post any content warnings on a Per Chapter basis. Divisive content will be as skip-able as I can reasonably manage Discord Link will be available for those interested in assisting editing/ coauthoring. Especially character writers/those willing to work out the math/ economies and world building even if only as a wall to bounce ideas off of.-----Full Synapsis contains serious spoilers----- Looking to take care of his family, Oliver finds himself flung into a faraway place. Try as he might, his Iliad will not be simple or peaceful as he'd like. Alas the slow and unending war of Chaos and Order has long memories and longer reach. If Oliver is to make his way back home it looks like He'll have to solve the universe one fight and mystery at a time. Especially as the Laws of Physics shift, often on a per world basis. Hopefully there is still a home to come back to.

Howard's Growth
In the not too distant future, the concrete of a new world has been laid to replace the dying Earth of old. In this world, one must provide value or perish in ignominy. Howard Manfield, like most pawns, fashions himself a king of his realm. Presiding over the corporatized dominion of genetic engineering, Howard was yet haunted by memories unknown to him. Awaking in a cold sweat to the dank smell of his own breath, his mind turning to the darkness from which it had emerged. In truth that was what he remembered most, it was more the substance of absence more than any meaningful presence on a color spectrum. It would not be until the first and last of his fated 'finding quests' that Howard Manfield would learn his place among his memories.

After their fateful misadventure in the mountainous Norther Reaches of RUNDAO, a dark new threat to all of RUNDAO has been revealed to the mercenary band of THE CREEPING BAM and their newest member, half-orc bandit SHAYLINE SWIFT-KILL. Returning their hard-won cargo to THE SILVER ORDER in their city stronghold in BAVAT, they find their well-deserved rest will have to rest – half-elf wizard GAEL FOXTAIL’s father has disappeared while performing an investigation in the coastal city of UNTERMER, and it’s up to our motley crew to find him. As a son of Untermer, wily bakaneko thief ART OF SHADOWS is the perfect choice to lead the way, but he has ghosts of his own to face as their investigation brings them into the orbit of the THIEVES GUILD. But there are daker forces at work here, and as they uncover a dark conspiracy and form an uneasy alliance with a trio of tough sellswords with their own stake in the game, led by dwarven warrior THELGAEWYNN FROSTFORGE, the Creeping Bam begin to suspect this may be connected to that unfinished business they started back up north … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
