The Last Embrace Chapter 445

Capt. Mercado, Colonel Brown and Chief Jackson along with four police officers went inside the room where the two frozen hostage-takers were being kept.
After disarming the frozen masked men, Jessy unfreezes them instantly.
The cops tackled the masked men and handcuffed their hands behind their backs.
A few minutes later.
Chief Jackson instructed one of his officers to gather all the hostage-takers on the ground floor after all the hostages were already taken to the hospitals for check-ups.
The police officers together with their captives exited the room.
The only ones left in the room were Capt. Mercado, Colonel Brown, Chief Jackson, and Oliver.
Chief Jackson looked at his friend. "Colonel, may I personally meet the lady who is responsible for this? I want to thank her personally for her great contribution in apprehending the notorious hostage-takers and preventing bloody carnage today," he said.
"Okay, no problem," Colonel Brown answered. "Agent X, you may appear now..."
Jessy with her face mask on appeared in front of Chief Jackson. The Chief was stunned by her sudden appearance in front of him out of nowhere.
"OMG! The invisible agent is here," Chief Jackson grabbed Jessy's hand for a handshake. "Nice meeting you Agent X. Thank you so much for helping my men bringing the hostage crisis down quickly, because of your timely action you save a lot of people today," he said happily.
Jessy smiled behind her face mask. "It's my pleasure serving our city, Sir! By the way, Sir, I heard those two men talking, they have grenades in their position, they were going to blow up the hotel and throw the grenades at the entrance of the hotel where the police officers, ambulance where on standby mode," she revealed.
Chief Jackson gritted his teeth in anger. "Sonsofbitches! Damn these parasites! I will kill them myself," he said out of anger.
Colonel Brown wrapped his arms around his friend. "Calm down, Chief. The crisis is over! You still have a press conference coming up explaining to the press people what happened inside the hotel during the hostage-taking," he reminded his friend.

Chief Jackson's face softened, they departed from the room.
Jessy, Oliver, and Capt. Mercado remained in the room.
Capt. Mercado beamed at Jessy. "Good job, both of you!"
"Thank you, Sir!" Jessy and Oliver responded.
Oliver asked permission. "Can we go now, Sir?"
"Yes, you may," Capt. Mercado answered.
"Where are you taking the prisoners, Sir?" Jessy asked.
"In the interrogation room in the Police Station," Capt. Mercado answered. "Why—?"
"I was just thinking about this... maybe those guys have backups and were still planning to do a similar stunt again in the future. I'm willing to read their minds so that we can arrest those criminals and their accomplices before they can create great damage to the society in the future," Jessy offered.
"Great Idea!" Capt. Mercado blurted out. "You may go now, guys. Wait for Chief Jackson's call if you two are allowed to visit the prison cell tonight," he said.
"Copy, Sir. We're leaving now," Jessy said and grabbed Oliver's arm.
They were gone from the room within a second.
Jessy and Oliver landed in the car that was parked in the mall's parking lot.
Oliver glanced at his partner. "Where are we going?" he asked.
"Chilling—in your apartment?" she smiled. "You have to feed me, I'm very hungry," she grumbled and smiled.
Oliver started the engine. "Sure! What do you want...Pizza or Seafood's dishes?"
"Seafood dishes sound delicious, please includes rice and soda!" she demanded.
"Okay, Boss!" Oliver responded and drove the car smoothly into the busy streets.
A moment later while driving...
"Do you want to dine in a restaurant or just home delivery?" Oliver asked his companion.
Jessy pondered for a moment. "Home delivery is better," she answered.
"Okie Dokie," Oliver murmured.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the apartment.
Jessy sank on the comfy sofa and close her eyes. "I will take a rest for a while. Wake me up when the food delivery arrives," she told her partner.

"OK. Rest well. You can use my room if you are not comfortable resting on the sofa," Oliver offered.
"Nah, it's okay. I'm a cowgirl, I'm not a princess. Don't worry about me," Jessy said and shut off her eyes hugging the cushion and drifted into slumber.
One hour later.
Jessy was awakened up by the loud sounds of the television. She opened her eyes and saw Oliver preparing something in the center table.
Wow! Their seafood dinner has finally arrived.
She sits erect on the sofa and inspected the mouthwatering dishes in front of her. There's one platter of Crabs with Lobsters and one platter of assorted seafood dishes such as Tempura, Fish Fillet, and Spicy Fried Calamari. There's also rice and one liter of chilled soda.
Jessy was already salivating looking at the mouthwatering dishes in front of her.
She went to the kitchen sink and washed her hands first.
Oliver washes his hands next.
They went back to the living room and lowered the volume of the TV and began eating their sumptuous feast.
One hour later.
The appetizing dishes were beginning to disappear slowly until they finished everything in sight, the shells of the crabs and lobsters were the only thing left in the platter.
"Whoaaa...that was super delicious! W should do this again!" Jessy caresses her tummy in absolute satisfaction.
"That was a fantastic Seafood Mukbang!" Oliver grinned, amused.
Together, they cleaned the trash and put it away in the garbage can.
Oliver volunteered to wash the dishes while Jessy did her part wiping clean the center table. Done cleaning she reached for the phone that was ringing twice inside her sling bag. She got a message from Colonel Brown informing them that they can visit the captured hostage-taker tomorrow in the Police Station.
"The mind-reading will take place tomorrow night at the Police Station," Jessy informed her partner that was still washing the dishes in the kitchen.
"OK," he replied.
Fifteen minutes later.
The press conference about the successful arrest of the hostage-taker was already airing on the television. The hostage-takers faces were shown to the press people and the masses.
Then the Chief of Police, Mr. Jackson was speaking on the microphone, addressing the nation.
"Good evening everyone!" he adjusted the microphone for a few seconds and continue his speech. "Today, we are saddened and shaken by this horrific event that shocked the nation, as Pearl Hotel was occupied by the hostage-takers, resulting in five people died, may their souls rest in peace, and five more victims still in the hospital recuperating as of this moment. I would like to thank everyone involved in the successful rescue of the hostages and immobilizing the hostage-takers as quickly as possible. To Agent X, thank you very much for your timely arrival and to my friends who lend a helping hand, thank you. To the Hostage Rescue Teams, Swat Team and my fellow Police Officers this is our victory against the menace of our society. Thank you, dear God, in heaven for watching over us. Thank you, everyone, for the prayers," Chief Jackson ended his speech.
~
"Thank God the hostage crisis is over!" Oliver exclaimed. "We should rest early to recuperate," he suggested.
"Nice suggestion, partner! I will leave now. I'll see you tomorrow afternoon," Jessy said.
"Okay, bye-bye, partner. See you tomorrow!" Oliver bid goodbye to Jessy.
A few seconds later Jessy disappeared from Oliver's sight.

Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder
I, Mick Chadwick, regret to inform my readers that this memoir contains nothing but the truth, which in the case of Tobias MacClain, most ridiculed as Pajama Boy, is far from pleasant. If you seek to relate to a hero more than to aspire to them and have the stomach for unpleasant things such as a hero left for dead, villainous scars, bomb threats, and murderous intent, then look no further. All of these gruesome things and more await from my research, and though I do not wish them on any man or woman, I cannot bear this burden on my own much longer. In the words of Tobias MacClain himself, "Sometimes, a villainous act can cause the greatest good." I hope that all my villainous acts of sneaking, blackmailing, diary-reading, and grave-digging, among others, will be redeemed as I present this complete and truthful memoir to the world, and with any luck, open eyes to the truth of what we call "villainy". Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder ********* MATURE FILTER IS FOR:- violence- graphic imagery (blood, burns, fairly dark headspaces)- cartoon depiction of burn scars for visual aid Despite graphics, Mick Chadwick's writing keeps Mr. MacClain's terrible tale light somehow. This is foremostly a comedy.

Author's Note: This story is different from other wuxia novels. If those novels focus on characters that struggle from the bottom and reach the top, this story is one where someone already reached the top. I figured it would be interesting to start a novel from this concept so I started it. Well, however this plays through, just like how I finished my previous novel, Doll's Smile, I'll finish this novel too. Of course, I'm writing this novel just for fun. I like to write lighthearted novels like this. Novels that I would read while listening to music and eating snacks on a pleasant and relaxing afternoon. Do forgive me if I'm slow in writing.
