Hong fei picked up a cup from the table and lifted it smashed it on Xiao li's head. But before she could do so, a powerful hand gripped her wrist.
Pain shot through Hong Fei's wrist. She turned around in anger and a black erect figure reflected in her bloodshot eyes.
Jingyi Wang stood behind Hong fei. In her eyes, his handsome, gentle face no longer held it's usual warmth and pleasantries.
Instead, it looked detestable.
"Hong fei, how dare you try to hurt my woman?" Jingyi Wang's tone was thick with a warning.
Xiao li heard this and stiffened. The blood all over her body surged. His extremely handsome face was covered with a layer of ice, and his deep eyes.
He looked sharply at Hong fei.
Hong Fei's body trembled. All her life, Jingyi Wang had always looked at her with warmth in his eyes. Never had he ever looked at her with anger in his eyes.
She bit her lips and her eyes suddenly turned red. "Brother Jingyi..."She paused abruptly.
"How dare you try to hurt my Xiao li, Hmmm?" He asked fiercely.
Xiao li heard this and looked at him in surprise. He called her my woman again.
Hong Fei's face turned pale and she took a step back.
Jingyi Wang said again fiercely again. "What made you think that you can hurt her? She is my girlfriend and no one can lay a finger on her and go unpunished"
Hong fei was frightened by Jingyi Wang's fierce eyes and shuddered. She quickly said, "Brother Jingyi, we have known each other for a very long time. Our fathers are close friends; we are like family. Remember we do things together then, and your father wanted us to get married in future"
Her eyes widened innocently, hoping that Jingyi Wang would change his mind and think of her as family, but she was wrong.
"Marriage?" Jingyi Wang's curled his lips coldly. A blood thirsty light appeared on his face. "You just said it yourself that we are like family and you are talking about us getting married. Listen to yourself"

Hong Fei's face gradually darkened and she said, "Brother Jingyi, how can you talk like that? Just because of this woman, you denied what our fathers said"
Denied?
When did he deny?
As Hong fei spoke, she burst into tears and put on a pitiful look, "Brother Jingyi, all my life, I used to think that you had loved me. Not only did you treat me like your younger sister, you treated me with love and care, but now-" Hong fei wept bitterly.
When the crowd heard this, they diverted their attention to Hong fei and looked at her pitifully.
This innocent girl had thought that Jingyi Wang was taking good care of her because he truly loved her.
Xiao li heard this and felt an invisible hand clenched her heart; She was breathing heavily.
'Was she his childhood love?' She thought to herself.
Jingyi Wang saw the pitiful looks on the guest faces and sneered, "I only did what I did because you are like a sister to me. A brother should always treat his sister with love and care, and also protect her, isn't it?"
"I don't remember telling you that I treated you that way because I love you" he said.
Hong fei was crying that her whole body was trembling, but when she heard Jingyi Wang's words, her eyes widened and her face turned red in embarrassment.
The cup fell from Hong Fei's grasp, shattering into a million pieces on the floor. Jingyi Wang let go of Hong Fei's hand and he said to the guest, "The only person I love and I will forever love is Xiao li. She is my girlfriend and I want to marry her. She is the future Mrs. Wang and that means you all have to respect her if you see her in future. If you have problem with that, then let me know"
As Jingyi Wang said, his gaze shifted across the room, waiting for who would raise his or her hand up and say, 'I object'

When he saw that there was no one, his lips curled proudly, muttering, "Good"
Then, he said to Hong fei, "Hong fei, I spare you today because your family is also my family and you have never offended me before. But the next time, you try this, I won't spare you"
When Hong fei heard this, her face completely turned pale. She looked at Jingyi Wang, her lips trembling as she said, "Brother Jingyi, how can you do this? You are doing this because of her, right?"
"Apologize to her now"
When Hong fei heard that Jingyi Wang wanted her to apologize, she was stunned. Did she really have to apologize to Xiao li?
No! She definitely couldn't apologize. If she does that in front of so many people, she would lose face in front of everybody. She would just go back and hang herself with a rope.
Thinking of this, she suddenly looked at Jingyi Wang pitifully and said, "Brother Jingyi, I didn't do anything wrong, so why should I apologize?"
Who knew that Jingyi Wang would completely put on a cold face towards Hong fei and say "You still don't know what you have done? Hong fei, in front of so many people, you raised a cup to hit Xiao li and you dare disrespect her"
Jingyi Wang said this mercilessly, completely disregarding the past friendship. In fact, when he said he didn't want to punish Hong fei and treated her like his sister, it was basically because of her family.
There was no friendship at all.
The reason why Jingyi Wang was still angry with her was because Hong fei had no sense of judgement.

Then she said that she was wrong for calling her a slut. Jingyi Wang watched this from the side and his mood became better. He doesn't want anyone to disrespect his woman, so Hong fei had to apologize.
After Hong fei apologized, Xiao li suddenly said, "Hong fei, I don't know what bad thing I have done to make you call me a slut, but I've forgiven you"
Hong fei couldn't say a word. She looked at Xiao li and smiled. "Thank you, Mrs. Wang"
Hong Fei's body was trembling with rage. She lowered her head and lost her dignity. She wanted to go crazy on the spot, but she knew Jingyi Wang's method. If she dared to make a scene, she would definitely not be able to walk out of this hotel alive.
Hong fei thought of this and suppressed the anger and hatred in her heart.
'Xiao li, just you wait, it's never too late for a gentleman to take revenge'
Hong fei cursed Xiao li in her heart and she faced the guest with a smile apologetically and bowed. She lifted the sides of her dress and turned elegantly. She disappeared into the crowd.
Ten minutes later, the party officially started. Xiao li walked onto the stage and sat in front of a piano.

But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
