Chapter 891: Awakened Sindera
No matter what that black thing was, and regardless of whether they were going to attack or avoid it, the situation would definitely be reversed dramatically as long as the Divine Power took effect on the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera! Lin Li was not dejected at all. He reached out to Connoris who was beside him, and their figures instantly disappeared.
In the following battle, Lin Li almost completely transformed into a devout believer of Light, and continuously exhibited all sorts of Holy Light Magic spells.
No one could imagine that one of mages who had always been known as blasphemers would change drastically, and become a believer of Light proficient in all kinds of Holy Light Magic spells. That was probably the most crazy, ridiculous thing in the world. Upon sight of the power exhibited by Lin Li, everyone even began to suspect if Lin Li was an undercover agent who was sent to the Guild of Magic by the Brilliance Shrine. They wondered if he was actually a member who was on the same level as an archbishop in the Brilliance Shrine.
After thinking about it, they felt that it was possible that Lin Li could be Rosario’s illegitimate son because he could use Holy Light Magic and had the support of the Brilliance Shrine. Rumor had it that he was also protected by the Holy Paladins. As they watched Lin Li continuously cast the Holy Light Magic, the other Legendary powerhouses began making guesses while supplementing their defensive magic spells.
Lin Li did not have that much time to care about what others thought, but despite having discovered the secret of the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera, things didn’t go smoothly for him, either. He cast the Holy Light Magic a few times, and watched the power of the Holy Light pass through the ice armor, which was followed by the diffusion of the black mass that instantly blocked the Divine Power.
On the other hand, Lin Li and Connoris seemed to have caught the attention of the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera. The pressure that they were under also increased significantly. Whenever Connoris was covering for Lin Li, he would find it extremely difficult to keep up with the support. Even his perfect body seemed to be somewhat unable to withstand the overdraft, which made him experience it again after a long time.
“Does it work or not? That guy is clearly focusing on attacking us with increasing intensity. If this goes on, I won’t be able to hold on any longer. Why don’t we just pause!?” Connoris exclaimed at Lin Li in exasperation while casting defensive magic spells.
Lin Li was well aware of the current situation, and was rather anxious as well. However, could they really stop? At this moment, Lin Li truly missed the days in the Endless World where he would enjoy the company of the Stars of Fury during all his battles. Unfortunately, the Stars of Fury was still nowhere to be found even though the seven pieces of the debris of the stars had already been assembled. Otherwise, he would be able to kill the Iceblast Wyrm with any piece of the debris of the stars so long as he had the Stars of Fury.
However, he could only fantasize about it now! Lin Li sighed and reached out to grab Connoris before moving to another position.
In the beginning, everyone was thrilled to see Lin Li and Connoris counterattacking against the Iceblast Wyrm, especially when they felt that the pressure they were withstanding seemed to have weakened a little. They pinned their hopes on the two, but as time passed, Lin Li who released Holy Light Magic couldn’t do anything to the Iceblast Wyrm at all. In fact, he couldn’t even cause any minor injuries. They could no longer control the fear and despair spreading in their hearts.

If the situation continued, they could imagine that Lin Li and Connoris would be the ones to fall in the end. After the Iceblast Wyrm killed the two of them, they would no longer survive.
After all, the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera was a true Sanctuary powerhouse. Even if it couldn’t reach the level of the Flame Dragon Lothar, its level-26 or level-27 power was not to be belittled. When it focused all of its strength on Lin Li and Connoris, the two of them were immediately put in an incredibly difficult situation.
However, Lin Li did not give up. Every time he cast the Holy Light Magic spells, he would stare intently at the changes in the black mass below the ice armor, hoping to find a regular rhythm or pattern. Connoris did not stop complaining. He simply covered Lin Li and tried his best to fend off the attacks of the Iceblast Wyrm. He seemed to be having a much harder time than Lin Li.
Although the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera had already lost its sentience, its Sanctuary-level battle instincts had not weakened in the slightest. Seeing that Lin Li and Connoris had continuously used their spatial movement abilities to move around like flies encircling it, it refused to tolerate that behavior even though it was no longer sentient.
However, just as the Iceblast Wyrm let out a high-pitched roar and gathered a terrifying power that could destroy the heavens and earth in a bid to kill Lin Li and Connoris in one go, Lin Li took the opportunity of the momentary pause. Refusing to give up, he maximized the power of Holy Light, and once again exhibited the Judgment of Light that could purify all filth and evilness in the world.
Before the Iceblast Wyrm could launch its attack, the pillar of light that emitted holy aura immediately passed through all hindrances, and blasted the massive body of the Iceblast Wyrm. However, when everyone had lost hope and even Lin Li was no longer confident, he suddenly discovered that there was an almost undiscoverable pause when the black fog under the ice armor spread out and was about to block the Divine Power.
Perhaps it was because the Iceblast Wyrm had used too much power, or perhaps there was another reason, but the minor pause in the diffusion of the black fog finally prevented it from blocking the Judgment of Light. Next, there was a full outbreak of Divine Power, and the dazzling light spread rapidly to the entire body of the Iceblast Wyrm. It even engulfed it entirely.
At this moment, everyone was stunned, and despite the incomparably dazzling light, everyone refused to take their eyes off the scene. They kept their eyes fixed even though they were tearing up because of the glare. It was as if they were desperately trying to see through the light to find some hope of changing their destiny.
“Howl!”
A dragon roar was once again heard coming from the light, but they could tell that it was vastly different than before. It seemed to contain the vicissitudes of the prehistoric times, the arrogance of being above the heavens and earth, and fury that made everyone tremble.
Originally, the crowd didn’t think that the Judgment of Light that Lin Li cast would be able to finish off the powerful Iceblast Wyrm with just one strike. However, they could now feel the immense rage of the Iceblast Wyrm, which made them feel even more nervous. They were worried that Lin Li might provoke the Iceblast Wyrm without hurting it. Should that be the case, they would all be finished.

As soon as the dragon roar sounded, the entire space became tumultuous, and the ocean of ice flames above and below them retreated immediately like a tidal wave. Rumbling sounds could be heard, resembling the sounds of galloping horses. When all the icy flames disappeared, there was some golden light in the Divine Power that engulfed the Iceblast Wyrm. The golden light expanded like a drop of ink in water, gradually replacing the silvery-white Holy glow. It looked as if a golden sun had risen in this sky.
“Boom!” The golden light exploded, and a massive figure of a dragon replaced the original Iceblast Wyrm, sweeping through the heavens and earth with its massive power. Although it looked exactly the same as the previous Iceblast Wyrm, it had a different vibe. It no longer seemed emotionless and lifeless like a zombie. Instead, it was filled with intense fury and the joy of regaining freedom.
That was the real Sindera, which was the king of the ancient Iceblast Wyrms, and was second only to the five Dragon Aspects. It was a powerful existence that was halfway to becoming a god. Lin Li could completely feel the powerful aura of a powerhouse that was at the peak of the Sanctuary-realm, just like the Flame Dragon Lothar. It looked down on the world arrogantly, and was incomparably domineering.
Lin Li had no means to find out what happened to Sindera, but he still couldn’t let his guard down. After all, he had seen the Flame Dragon Lothar, and knew that it was unreasonable. God knew if Sindera was just like the Flame Dragon Lothar that had fallen into deep sleep.
The golden light scattered, and the body of the Iceblast Wyrm that had become an Undead creature had disappeared, leaving behind a dragon soul that had just manifested. It roared angrily at the sky. “It’s been more than 1,000 years, and these shameless bugs actually have the audacity to snatch my body. The fury of the wyrm will never allow your soul to rest in peace!”
Lin Li didn’t have a deep understanding of the language of the ancient wyrms, but at this moment, he already knew the significance of Sindera’s roar. It seemed that Prince Brahere had indeed captured Sindera, and then used some method to imprison its soul, which was why its body became an Undead creature that led the Humerus Wyrms.
However, the appearance of Sindera’s dragon soul had already exhibited the power of a powerhouse that was at the peak of the Sanctuary-realm. Since it had a strength that surpassed the World Laws, how had Brahere managed to do it? If Brahere had killed Sindera and turned its corpse into an Undead creature, that would’ve been fine. Yet, he had actually sealed Sindera’s dragon soul in its body for thousands of years. That was the means of a god!
However, Lin Li could no longer be bothered to consider those issues, because Sindera was clearly about to vent its anger and make sure that Brahere’s soul would never rest in peace. Didn’t that mean that it was going to destroy the place!? At the thought of that, Lin Li began to get a little anxious. Sindera was a true powerhouse that was at the peak of the Sanctuary-realm. If it were to really fly into a rage, they probably wouldn’t be able to flee.
“Human mage, I can give you time to leave here immediately in return for you freeing me from this confinement. I’ll give you one hour. In an hour’s time, there will be eternal winter in this place!”
To Lin Li’s surprise, Sindera didn’t immediately flare up, and instead sent a transmission to his mind through its soul consciousness. However, what really caught Lin Li’s attention was not the meaning of its words, but the mysterious fluctuation of its soul that had already surpassed the World Laws.
Legend had it that after the death of an ancient wyrm, it would condense all of its spirit into the dragon soul and enter the dragon graveyard that was hidden in infinite time and space. Sindera was undoubtedly facing that exact situation where its Sanctuary-realm spirit and will were condensed. Hence, it did not lose any strength, and its soul fluctuation also showed its spirit and will.
Lin Li’s strength was originally at the peak of the Legendary-realm, and he had even gotten a glimpse of the Sanctuary-realm. He also had Geresco’s Book of Eternity. After studying it and comprehending it for a period of time, he was in fact just one step away from the Sanctuary-realm. More importantly, Lin Li had gained a lot of experience from the battle with the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera, even though its strength had been compromised before. After all, it was a true powerhouse of the Sanctuary-realm that was at level-26 or level-27.
Lin Li had reached a greater understanding of the Sanctuary-realm, especially during the battle where he was in the Magical Domain of the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera, and experienced the mastery and manipulation of the Rules that were already at the extremes. It could be said that as long as he could survive the battle and carefully ruminate for a long time, he would be able to enter the Sanctuary-realm smoothly.
However, to Lin Li’s surprise, with the appearance of the Iceblast Wyrm Sindera’s dragon soul and the transmission via its soul consciousness, he managed to advance greatly. Its spirit and will, which were at the peak of the Sanctuary-realm, gave Lin Li a clearer idea compared to the previous battle. It was like a sledgehammer that had directly blasted open the door to the Sanctuary-realm for Lin Li.
Through the spirit and will that showed in its soul fluctuation, Lin Li managed to understand the mastery and control over the World Laws. To others, it’d seem a little unbelievable, but for Lin Li, it was not impossible. His massive mental strength had actually already reached the level of the Sanctuary-realm, and was perfect for analyzing and comprehending that soul fluctuation. Hence, Lin Li could no longer be bothered about what Sindera was saying. Instead, he focused his attention on comprehending the soul fluctuation.
Hence, everyone was surprised to see Lin Li closing his eyes slowly when he was facing Sindera that was emitting a daunting vibe while suspending in midair quietly without moving. What a joke, was he going to close his eyes and wait for his death!? The scene was almost going to drive everyone crazy, and they felt that even if he wanted to die, he shouldn’t be using that approach. Could it be that he really had no courage to fight anymore?
Of course, everyone knew very well that Sindera could easily kill them with its power that was 1,000 times more terrifying than before.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (1870) (Completed)
In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation. An illustrated edition, published by Hetzel in November 1871, included 111 illustrations by Alphonse de Neuville and Édouard Riou. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is regarded as one of the premiere adventure novels and one of Verne's greatest works, along with Around the World in Eighty Days and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
