Chapter 1066: Magic Net
Therefore, after hearing Elvis’ words, all of them instantly fell silent, and focused their gazes on Lin Li’s body. It seemed that they had recognized Lin Li as their leader at this moment, and there was no longer a hint of doubt in everyone’s eyes. Instead, they vaguely seemed to have been convinced.
Yes, they had been convinced! The Breezy Plains was a land of chaos where people believed in the supremacy of strength, and now everyone knew how terrifying a real Sanctuary powerhouse was, and how small they were compared to Sanctuary powerhouses. Even though they hadn’t seen Lin Li attack yet, no one in their right mind would choose to go against such a Sanctuary powerhouse.
Lin Li saw the change in everyone’s attitude, but he didn’t take it to heart, and unhurriedly said, “Everyone, I think you have seen the battle situation over there. I can tell you in advance that the existence sealed under Cage Island is far stronger than all of us. However, whether it is for the sake of the civilians in the Breezy Plains or for the sake of our respective factions, we cannot ignore this matter. So, I hope that you guys can do your best. If you still have reservations when it comes to the battle, I’m afraid you’re going to be doomed.”
Be it Elvis and the other pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses or the Legendary powerhouses, Lin Li of course saw their strength very clearly. However, their factions were older forces that had thousands of years of heritage. No one would believe that they didn’t have any trump cards.
However, Lin Li knew their nature too well, and was well aware that they were all sly and cunning old foxes who hoped that they didn’t have to do anything. Hence, Lin Li immediately warned them not to have any reservations, and not to save their trump cards. He wanted them to give everything they had.
Actually, Lin Li was not doing it for himself. Many had been refusing to use their trump cards because they failed to see the situation clearly. As a result, they never had the opportunity to use them. However, when the two parties were evenly matched, only trump cards could play the greatest role. On the other hand, if one were to reserve their trump card in the face of absolutely oppressive power, they would be courting death.
Besides, when saying that to the crowd, Lin Li even took out a bunch of inconspicuous rings from the Ring of Endless Storm. The rings were made of violet gold, and there was a gray gemstone embellished on the rings. Those rings could be called the Magic Net rings, and were the essential magical accessory of the mages of the Tower of Dusk. It was also a mandatory item for the mages to form a Magic Net Array.
Of course, Lin Li didn’t take the Magic Net rings out to make them form a Magic Net Array. Firstly, the Magic Net rings were a secret of the Tower of Dusk that would never be divulged to others. Secondly, the Magic Net rings were not the only items needed for the Magic Net Array to be formed immediately. The casters would have to train hard for a long period of time.
However, the Magic Net rings could put the mental strength of all the users together to form a large mental strength network, allowing everyone in the network to quickly transmit information with one another. With the mental strength network formed using the Magic Net rings, those who had never cooperated with each other would at least reach a high level of cooperation in the battle. Although there might not be much of a tacit understanding with each other, they would at least not hold each other back, and would instead stay with each other like glued sand.

“Each of you will wear a ring. I believe that you should be able to quickly master its functions at your level,” Lin Li said, handing the rings to Elvis who was beside him so that he could distribute them to everyone.
Everyone was initially confused about the inconspicuous-looking rings which didn’t give off many magical waves. It was difficult to imagine them playing any significant role in the battle. However, when they wore the rings, they immediately felt amazed by their power, and gasped in shock when they felt a small amount of power.
For individuals, the Magic Net ring would be of no use, but for a group, it was simply a priceless treasure! Apart from Cardson who aspired to be a chef, no one else was alone. Hence, they immediately understood the value of the rings.
Although those people had rarely meddled in the affairs of their respective forces, everyone wanted their factions to develop again. Therefore, after understanding the role and value of the Magic Net rings, the old powerhouses immediately looked at Lin Li with fervor in their eyes.
“We’ll talk about the rings in the future. While you are familiarizing yourselves with their usage, you may also consider something. This time, we can’t risk everything to help the Gilded Kingdom for nothing.” The Gilded Kingdom might have helped the Breezy Plains in a certain sense, but Lin Li didn’t want to let them off just like that.
The people of the Breezy Plains were truly getting surprised again and again. Firstly, regarding the matter of the rings, Lin Li did not tell them not to covet the rings, and instead said that it would be discussed later, which meant that there was room for discussion. They could completely imagine the drastic improvement in the combat power of their respective teams if everyone was equipped with such a Magic Net ring, even though their individual strength would be not enhanced.
That was not an exaggeration at all. A small ring like that could allow teams to quickly have a tacit understanding and build a chemistry that required years of interaction to develop. For a team, individual strength would only play a very minor role, and a tacit understanding was the most important.
Of course, Lin Li knew what they wanted. However, he didn’t take to heart the fact that they wanted to use the Magic Net Array to increase their respective teams’ ability. Although the Magic Net rings were amazing, they could only exert their amazing power when there was an array like a Magic Net Array involved. Besides, the other arrays could only increase the chemistry between the team members.
Lin Li was not at all worried that others might replicate the Magic Net rings. Crystal sculptors were few and far between in Anril, not to mention ones at the Master-level. To put it bluntly, even if Lin Li told them the detailed steps to create the Magic Net rings, no one would be able to replicate them.
Of course, Lin Li did not do this in order to find an additional source of wealth for the Tower of Dusk, but he really wanted to advance the strength of the forces. Only when their strength was improved would they be tougher when facing the Gilded Kingdom, and not drag the Tower of Dusk down when a conflict between the Tower of Dusk and the Gilded Kingdom really broke out in the future. Besides, they would also be able to play a role in resisting the calamity that Geresco had predicted.

As for whether or not the forces would turn against the Tower of Dusk after they got the Magic Net rings, Lin Li wasn’t worried at all. Since he was the creator of those items, he was certainly very clear about its advantages and disadvantages. If any force were to think that
they would have the strength to challenge the Tower of Dusk after getting the Magic Net rings, they would have to pay a huge price.
Lin Li’s words gave the crowd some relief as they could all tell what he meant, and knew that it was possible for their own forces to obtain the rings and equip themselves with them. Besides, Lin Li’s words had also made them feel excited. Clearly, those were the conditions that the Gilded Kingdom had to fulfill for receiving their help.
Originally, they decided to go to the aid of the Gilded Kingdom to get their desired benefits from the Gilded Kingdom. However, Lin Li’s attitude made them a little hesitant afterwards, and they didn’t know if they should go back to negotiate terms with the Gilded Kingdom. Now that Lin Li had given the green light, they obviously wouldn’t go easy on the Gilded Kingdom. While thinking about the purpose of the Magic Net rings, they were also discussing the plan to exploit the Gilded Kingdom.
After they mastered the usage of the Magic Net rings, they immediately put theory into practice, and began talking with each other through the mental strength network formed by the rings. As a result, the atmosphere seemed a little peculiar as the old fogies looked at each other with meaningful glances, causing others to get the goosebumps.
At this moment, Cantory looked at the situation on Cage Island before turning to look at Lin Li and others while they were conversing. He wanted to intervene a few times to urge them, but nonetheless bore with it. Given his wit and intelligence, he naturally guessed that the people who had come to help him were definitely not just discussing the plan to provide aid. He reckoned that they were probably deliberating how to stab him hard in the back and exploit him.
However, there was nothing to do even though he had thought of it. Despite how displeased Cantory was, he dared not show any of his unhappiness. Of course, he would still settle scores with the Breezy Plains—he would have plenty of chances to do so after surviving the ordeal at hand.
Cantory didn’t know how long they actually waited, but he knew that he was on the verge of running out of patience. He didn’t even realize that he was clenching his fists so hard that his fingernails were digging deep into his flesh. When he looked back for the umpteenth time, he finally saw the young president of the Tower of Dusk walking towards him with the others. At this moment, he was almost about to burst into tears of distress as the wait was simply too torturous.
However, just like Cantory had thought previously, when they arrived and saw him, they did not discuss the plan to give aid, and instead raised their conditions like greedy vampires immediately after seeing him.
That was plain blackmail and extortion! Cantory was filled with so much agitation that he was about to explode. Although he had long known about the shamelessness of these people in the Breezy Plains, he never thought that they would be shameless to such an extent.
Among them, the one who asked for the least already asked for 10 Legendary magical crystals as payment, but the Gilded Kingdom had a limited number of them too, and had to obtain them from killing sea beasts and engaging in battles that would put lives at risk. Some even asked for the Heart of the Ocean gemstone which was the specialty of the Gilded Kingdom. However, it didn’t mean that they produced it in large volumes; it just meant that the Heart of the Ocean could not be found elsewhere. Even in the Gilded Kingdom, it was a superior-quality magical gemstone that was extremely rare.
However, Cantory couldn’t refuse in the current situation. If he were elsewhere, such as Rafah City previously, Cantory could talk to them properly about those conditions. However, the panic-stricken Elder Zumar and the others were waiting right there. Cantory was in no mood to discuss with them.
Just you wait, I’ll make sure you cough up everything you eat! Cantory was filled with resentment, but he didn’t show it. He agreed to their requests with a look of dismay, almost without any bargaining.
Soon, the people of the Breezy Plains reached various agreements with Cantory. They were not worried that the Gilded Kingdom would go back on their word. After all, although their demands were harsh, the Gilded Kingdom could afford to give them what they wanted. If they dared to go back on their word, the Gilded Kingdom’s image and reputation would be ruined. From then on, they would not be able to continue staying in Anril.
Of course, Lin Li did not miss such an opportunity. Although the Tower of Dusk could be considered rich and powerful now, no one would say no to more benefits. Besides, the Gilded Kingdom was a nation on sea, and held a number of resources in the sea, which were rare on land.
Just like that, Cantory bore with the anger, and signed a contract aggrievedly. In the end, he looked at Lin Li and took a deep breath. He said, “President Felic, it’s time for you to take action next.”
Lin Li put away the contract without looking at Cantory at all. Instead, they looked at the Cage Island, and indifferently said, “Enough, begin taking action according to my previous arrangements.”
Lin Li did not include Cantory. Even though Cantory was competent, he was an outsider, after all, so no one in the Breezy Plains trusted him. Instead of letting him stay in a safe spot of the battle, they might as well let him stay at the side, and watch as a reward for signing so many contracts with them.
With Lin Li’s order, Elvis and the other six pseudo-Sanctuary powerhouses immediately flew up with the peak Legendary powerhouses under them, and split into six teams to surge towards Cage Island. Due to the Magic Net rings’ mental strength network, which connected all of their mental strength, and made them seem to experience an increase in their mental strength, the effect of the terrifying oppression of a true Sanctuary powerhouse had been reduced to the maximum.
