Chapter 1100: Giant Hands
All of a sudden, everyone in the entire hall was dumbfounded. Was this still an auction? He actually doubled the previous bid! Even the top forces of the sea city probably could not afford to cough up 20 Legendary magical crystals immediately. As for the other forces, they probably could never afford that much even if they sold everything they had. Otherwise, they would have been equal to the big shots on the second floor.
Even Lord Onor of the Sea Clan fell silent after hearing the bid. Clearly, even the Sea Clan was stringent with their spending of Legendary magical crystals. 20 Legendary magical crystals was enough to be exchanged for a large number of important resources.
However, that didn’t mean that Onor gave up on the Life Commendation. He walked to the window of the private room, glanced at the crowd in the hall below, and turned his head to look at a Sea Clan warrior beside him. “Go and ask around. I’d like to find out who’s so bold as to vie with me for something I want.”
“Yes, Lord.” The warrior bowed respectfully, and turned to leave the private room with a sinister look.
After watching his subordinate leave, Onor finally couldn’t bear the anger in his heart, and slammed his hand hard on the table. Gritting his teeth furiously, he said, “I really want to know who’s so bold as to vie with me for something I want.”
After Lin Li, who was below, placed a bid of 20 Legendary magical crystals, even Onor of the Sea Clan stopped bidding, let alone the other forces. Suppressing the excitement in his heart, the old man called the bid thrice in a shaky voice according to the rules before finally announcing the owner of the Life Commendation.
Soon, someone from the auction house walked towards Lin Li, and led him to complete the last step of the transaction before handing over the item at the same time that Lin Li handed over the magical crystal. Of course, the people of the auction house had made considerations before. If someone were to deliberately raise prices and cause trouble, they would be confident enough to make the other party pay a huge price for it.
Lin Li went to the back of the auction house, and took out 20 Legendary magical crystals from the Ring of Endless Storm in a relaxed manner. There were even a few that were level-21 and level-22.
Upon sight of the 20 Legendary magical crystals in front of him, even the person in charge of the auction house couldn’t hide the excitement he felt. There were 20 Legendary magical crystals. Even if all the other items in the lineup did not get auctioned off today, he would still be given huge credit.
“Okay, Sir, here’s the Life Commendation that you’ve purchased in the auction. Please put it away well.” The person in charge put away the magical crystals, and handed the bottle of Life Commendation potion to Lin Li carefully. He then looked around, and softly said, “You have to be careful. Someone else must be coveting this potion. I advise you not to stay here any longer. It’s better that you think of a way to leave this place immediately.”
Lin Li nodded slightly, casually grabbed the Life Commendation potion, and fiddled with it instead of putting it away into the Ring of Endless Storm. In fact, with Lin Li’s current attainment in pharmaceutics, it really wouldn’t be difficult to prepare a Life Commendation potion. In fact, he could create a potion that would result in the effect of prolonging life for 1,000 years without having to add the sap of the Tree of Eternity. Hence, he didn’t take the potion seriously even though it cost him 20 Legendary magical crystals.

Seeing Lin Li’s behavior, the person in charge of the auction house couldn’t help but be a little worried. It was no longer as simple as a potion. It was 20 Legendary magical crystals. If all of them fell to the ground, the 20 Legendary magical crystals would go to waste. Of course, he was also elated and relieved that he had sold off the potion; if Lin Li damaged the latter, he wouldn’t have to take responsibility for anything.
Soon after Lin Li left with the Life Commendation potion, Onor’s subordinate, the Sea Clan warrior, walked to the back of the auction house, and looked for the person in charge of the auction house. Although the latter had given Lin Li a reminder, he still had to tell the Sea Clan members the truth. That was called pleasing both parties.
Unfortunately, the auction house had its own rules, and the person in charge had not asked much about Lin Li’s origin. Hence, he naturally could not tell the Sea Clan warrior much. However, the person in charge of the auction house dared not defy the Sea Clan warrior, and had no choice but to hand over the magical crystals that Lin Li had given him to let him study it for a period of time.
In the private room, Onor grabbed one of the magical crystals his subordinate brought to him, and could tell at a glance that it definitely didn’t belong to a marine magical beast. The magical crystal was emitting the magical wave of an earth element, and it was obviously from a magical beast on land. Onor was confused about the fact that it was used on sea.
“Have you sent someone to keep an eye on that human?” Onor asked as he tossed the magical crystal back to his subordinate.
“Yes, I’ve asked someone to keep an eye on him. As long as he leaves the sea by boat, we will receive the news immediately,” the Sea Clan warrior replied respectfully.
The Endless Ocean was the territory of the Sea Clan, and even the most powerful battleships were no match for the Marine Gigantic Beasts that the Sea Clan rode. That was one of the reasons why the High Elves couldn’t quite rule over the Endless Ocean. In fact, merchants and even ferocious pirates would all have to be connected with the Sea Clan. Otherwise, they would never be able to live on the sea.
On the other hand, after Lin Li left the auction house, he also lost interest in staying any longer. He managed to make two people take the bait, but he would only know which one was useful to him after he was done reeling them in. However, in order to make the fishes take the bait, laying the bait was not enough. He had to make the fishes swallow it successfully.
Hence, returned to The Star, and decided to sail the ship out of the port. He reckoned that for the pirates and the Sea Clan, the sea was definitely a place where they could be carefree and act without any scruples. Of course, Lin Li actually also needed a place where he could pretend to be fearful.
When Lin Li went to see the port, he realized that The Star was surrounded by a lot of people. Even for those who had gotten used to seeing all kinds of ships, The Star was still astonishingly massive. The people stood in the port and discussed The Star, some making assumptions about the maximum cargo load that the ship could take, others talking about the type of marine beasts it could be used to hunt.

Everyone watched as Lin Li boarded The Star, after which The Star roared and slowly moved away from the port. In fact, although The Star was massive, it was definitely not slower than the fast-sailing ships. However, Lin Li deliberately ordered the skeleton to make The Star seem clumsier lest he scared the fishes away.
After leaving the port, The Star immediately sped up, and sailed fast in the direction of the mainland. Of course, it was only relatively fast in the eyes of others. In fact, they were traveling at less than a tenth of the normal speed of The Star. However, before The Star could travel far from the island, a massive marine beast came up from beneath the surface of the ocean.
That marine beast was almost the same size as The Star, and it was also carrying a castle-like building. The castle contained all sorts of magical weapons, from Magical Crystal Cannons to large harpoons. It was truly fully equipped.
After taking a look at the giant marine beast, Lin Li knew that he had finally encountered the Sea Clan that he was looking for. Although he had never seen a Sea Clan beast, he could imagine that only the Sea Clan would be able to tame it to such an extent.
As expected, after The Star was forced to slow down, several Sea Clan warriors came out of the castle on the back of the marine beast, holding tridents in their hands. One of the leading warriors pointed his trident toward The Star, and yelled, “We suspect that your ship is carrying prohibited materials. We now order you to stop your ship immediately for inspection.”
The voices of the Sea Clan were rather loud and penetrating, so much so that they could be used as sound wave weapons. If it was a normal interaction between ships, they would have to use signs to communicate due to the large distance. However, the Sea Clan were yelling. Besides, even though Lin Li was in the pilothouse, he could still hear them clearly.
However, Lin Li was almost amused to hear the warrior’s words. Fancy them coming up with such an excuse. Of course, regardless of the era and the nation, there would definitely be some explicitly restricted materials. Hence, the request for inspection could not be considered a fabricated excuse.
Of course, Lin Li wouldn’t allow them to come on board The Star to check. Even if he had the intention to attract them to The Star, it didn’t mean that he would let them get up to any nonsense on The Star.
While waiting for a response from Lin Li, the people of the Sea Clan suddenly saw a gigantic magic hand stretching out from the void, and grabbing the castle on the marine beast’s body. Next, it applied some force and yanked the castle from the back of the marine beast. Immediately afterwards, the gigantic magic hand shook the castle forcefully. Although none of the people in the castle was shaken out, the Sea Clan dared not stay in the castle any longer. They simply fled from the castle.
“Who the hell are you? Are you trying to declare war on the Sea Clan!?” Perhaps because the Life Commendation potion was too important, Onor did not hand the task of getting it over to his subordinates, and instead accompanied the marine beast over. In fact, the castle on the back of the marine beast was even Onor’s residence. Although the Sea Clan could move around on land, they were still more comfortable at sea.
Onor was already a peak Legendary powerhouse; hence, he naturally wouldn’t be as disheveled as the other Sea Clan warriors. After leaving the castle, he immediately flew to the sky above The Star, and pointed at Lin Li who was somewhere aboard it. That was when he hollered menacingly.
Actually, he was well aware that he might have provoked a powerful person this time. Being able to rip the castle off the back of the marine beast in one go was probably a feat that could be achieved only by someone in the Sanctuary-realm.
That was precisely the reason that Onor accused Lin Li right after he spoke in a bid to make Lin Li reconsider his choices. Touching him would be the same as challenging the entire Sea Clan.
At this point, the gigantic magic hand that had yanked the castle into midair tossed it into the sea casually before turning around to grab Onor. That gave Onor a great fright. After all, he hadn’t reached the Sanctuary-realm yet, and his soul wasn’t indestructible yet. Dying would mean complete death.
However, Lin Li did not make it too difficult for Onor, mainly because he wasn’t clear about the relationship between the Sea Clan and Geresco yet. In case Geresco had any important connection with the Sea Clan, he would never be able to resolve the conflict if he ended up making the Sea Clan suffer casualties.
With a loud thud, the gigantic magic hand suddenly dissipated, and Onor who was in midair also fell to the deck of The Star. He even rolled a few times before stopping. The beautiful navy blue dragon whale leather armor that he was wearing had lost its luster, and he seemed extremely disheveled.
As a peak Legendary powerhouse, Onor was slammed onto the ground, where he began rolling uncontrollably. That was a huge humiliation to him, but that was not something he could control. When the gigantic magic hand suddenly dissipated, he had tried to mobilize his mana and maintain some dignity in the face of Lin Li, the human Sanctuary powerhouse. However, what made him feel incomparably frightened was that all of his body’s power had disappeared without a trace, and he became an ordinary person that did not have a trace of mana.
“Lord Onor of the Sea Clan, what are you trying to do by taking so many of your men with you and stopping my ship?” Lin Li did not intend to subject them to any brutal, torturous methods immediately. Although he had used some brutal means to grab Onor and place him on the deck of The Star, he did not harm the lives of the Sea Clan.
“Who are you?” It took Onor a long time to suppress the horror in his heart. After all, he was facing a Sanctuary powerhouse who could easily kill him. Besides, even though he had been staying on the small sea market, and had almost never been to the mainland of Anril, it didn’t mean that he was clueless about the news there. On the contrary, he had a deeper understanding of the mainland of Anril than some locals of the mainland. However, he couldn’t recall when a Sanctuary powerhouse like Lin Li had appeared among the humans.
Onor was well aware of the position that humans were in in Anril today. It was no exaggeration to say that in the eyes of the High Elves, the humans were simply a bunch of slaves that had been freed and who were the lowliest of all. The dwarves at least had some forging skills that the High Elves valued highly, while the elves were at least good-looking, like the High Elves. However, what did the humans have? Be it in the eyes of the High Elves or the Sea Clan, humans were practically useless apart from the fact that they had an incredible reproduction speed.
