Chapter 1102: Center of The Sea
Next, there were several regional shields that shrouded the sea city, divided the city into parts, and covered it. The strongest one was a substance-like aquamarine magic shield that was held up by more than 100 stone pillars erected around Cage Island.
The aquamarine magic shield was extremely different from ordinary magic shields which would burst like a bubble once the attack spells it blocked exceeded the limit. However, the aquamarine magic shield also had a buffering and transition function whereby the magic shield would absorb it and minimize the power of the attack if the damage suffered exceeded the limit.
The aquamarine magic shield was as strong and durable as the sea, and when the bolts of lightning landed on it, they were like raindrops on the ocean. Attacks that were less powerful were blocked, while those that carried greater power would be weakened by the magic shield.
The power of the Sea Clan was exhibited through the aquamarine magic shield. Their power was tough, and they had a perfect use of water elements. Under the protection of this magic shield, the sea city of the island did not suffer much loss, even though there seemed to be an apocalypse outside.
However, while the sea city was still relatively safe, the ships that had just left the port, or which were about to enter, were much unluckier. Although there were some ships that had magic shields too, those were only enough for coping with ordinary sea storms. In the face of the Legendary-level thunderbolts, their defense was incredibly fragile.
In the blink of an eye, the ships on the sea were almost defenseless as they were blasted into pieces by the countless lightning bolts. The debris was then blown into ashes and swept away by the waves. It was as if those ships had never existed on the sea before.
The people whom Onor brought over, as well as the massive marine magical beast and the sea warriors that were tossed into the ocean, were just as unlucky. The sea should have been a safe place for them in the first place, but the disaster that suddenly struck caused the sea to turn into their graveyard.
Lying on the deck of The Star, Onor looked at the disaster outside the magic shield that looked like an apocalypse, and watched the ships in the distance that were being blasted into pieces. He was so frightened that he almost peed his pants. At this juncture, he didn’t know if he should be glad that he was caught on this giant battleship. If not for it, he would have probably faced the same fate as his subordinates.
Lin Li tilted his head and looked at the dark clouds in the sky, as if he was trying to make his gaze penetrate through the gloomy clouds. He had quite a bit of faith in the defensive abilities of The Star. Putting aside the fact that the power of the lightning was equivalent to Legendary-level magic spells, even an attack from a low-level Sanctuary powerhouse might not easily break the defense of The Star.
What made Lin Li really worried was the familiar aura that he felt which invoked violence, death, darkness, evil, and so on. He vaguely remembered it to be from an extremely terrifying existence. Although he could not link that aura with the powerhouses that he remembered, he knew that the terrifying existence was not something that he could fight at his current strength.

At this moment, the dark clouds in the sky suddenly parted to form a huge hole, after which a small mountain-like object suddenly came crashing down like a meteor. The massive object was obscured in thick black gas, so they could not quite see what it was.
Just like that, the huge object slammed hard into the ocean near Cage Island in the blink of an eye, causing waves that were hundreds of meters high to surge up as if all the water was about to be blasted up into the sky. Compared to the surging water, Cage Island seemed extremely tiny. If not for the magic shield outside the sea, the island would have probably been swept clean by the wave.
Seeing such a scene and sensing the aura that was coming from the massive object, a series of information suddenly appeared in Lin Li’s mind as he recalled the time when he went to Cage Island to provide aid for the Gilded Kingdom. When did Cage Island become a place to seal the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction?
Even the Gilded Kingdom did not have a clear answer. Before their ancestors sealed the Dragon of Destruction’s corpse, rumor had it that the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction had been on Cage Island for an unknown period of time.
Is this scene that of when the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction was sealed for the first time? Lin Li couldn’t help but think of such a possibility as it seemed that there was still a long time in this current era before the ancestor of the Gilded Kingdom sealed the dragon corpse for the second time.
Seemingly to confirm Lin Li’s guesses, a giant hand landed from the sky again before the huge waves stirred up by the massive object fell. The gigantic hand was condensed with mana, and was somewhat similar to the one that had grabbed Onor previously. However, it was much larger. The hand that reached out from the gloomy clouds would probably press Cage Island into the sea with just one finger.
Besides, this gigantic magic hand was even more flexible than the one Lin Li had cast as it could move agilely like a living palm. It made three mysterious hand gestures flexibly in the sky, which seemed to be the gestures that mages would make when casting spells. However, even with Lin Li’s knowledge of magic, he could not identify the Laws contained in the three gestures.
When the first gesture was completed, the sea around Cage Island started surging violently like it was boiling. At the same time, the thunderbolts falling from the sky also suddenly became more powerful as they crashed down continuously like massive pillars of lightning.
However, the second gesture caused the entire space to fall silent, while the frightening waves seemed to have calmed down in an instant. The surface of the sea became flat, smooth, and reflective, as if it was frozen. The thunderbolts that came from the dark clouds also disappeared without a trace. The violent magical elements in the space seemed to have encountered something that left them in fear as they stayed fixed, not daring to move at all.
With the completion of the third gesture, the sea of Cage Island immediately became wavy again, but it was no longer like an apocalyptic scene, and instead seemed like an ordinary sea storm. At the same time, the dark clouds in the sky also began to recede like a tide, revealing the original turquoise sky as the sunlight shrouded the sea area again.

“Well…” Onor felt the pressure disappearing from his body all of a sudden, but he did not dare to immediately stand up from the ground. Instead, he remained on the ground, dumbfounded at everything that was taking place before him. However, the changes were beyond his imagination as he couldn’t imagine what kind of person would have such a terrifying power.
Lin Li remained still at this moment, and continued to watch the clouds disperse in the sky. Although he couldn’t understand the mystery contained in the three gestures yet, he was very sure that it was a method to seal and suppress the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction. Considering the current era in this world, it was obvious that the one who sealed the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction definitely wasn’t the ancestor of the Gilded Kingdom. Hence, the Immortal King was the only possibility left.
Lin Li did not understand why the Immortal King would appear in the world created by Geresco. Could it be that Geresco had arranged this world and scene for the sake of letting his inheritors see the Immortal King seal the Dragon of Destruction corpse?
At this moment, Lin Li suddenly discovered a figure flashing in the sky before flying quickly towards the depths of the Endless Ocean. Is that the Immortal King? Or is it Geresco?
According to the history of Anril, the one who just sealed the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction should undoubtedly be the Immortal King. However, since this world was created by Geresco, who could play the role of the Immortal King?
No matter what, Lin Li felt that he would probably have to ask the Immortal King if he wanted to know the answer. Hence, instead of taking action immediately and chasing the Immortal King who was flying towards the depths of the Endless Ocean, he picked Onor up, and pointed in that direction. “Tell me what special existence there is over there.”
Lin Li didn’t think that the Immortal King was flying aimlessly, so there had to be something attracting him in the depths of the Endless Ocean. Moreover, judging from the way the Immortal King sealed the corpse of the Immortal King just now, he seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. According to the history of Anril, the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction broke the seal later on, and caused a huge disaster to strike the Gilded Kingdom, which led the ancestors of the Gilded Kingdom to seal it again.
However, with the Immortal King’s ability, he might be able to permanently seal the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction, but it should not break the seal after 1,000 years. That was enough to show how much of a hurry the Immortal King was in when he sealed the corpse of the Dragon of Destruction.
Moreover, Lin Li remembered another clue: the Savage stone slab that he had obtained after clearing the Barbarous Arena. It was stated on the slab that the Immortal King had descended into the land of the Savages, and plundered almost all of their wealth to build an incredibly powerful battleship. However, that was not the key; the key was that the matter of the Immortal King heading to the Endless Ocean was also mentioned on the slab.
In that case, what was there in the Endless Ocean that could make the Immortal King be in such a hurry? Lin Li was almost clueless about the Endless Ocean, so he thought of Onor, the Sea Clan member whom he was holding captive. Since Onor was the head of the sea trade locally, he obviously had a certain status among the Sea Clan, and he should have a lot of information about the Endless Ocean.
“What? There…” However, Onor hesitated a little after hearing Lin Li’s question, and did not answer as straightforwardly as he did before. Clearly, he had scruples.
Onor’s reaction aroused Lin Li’s interest even more as he shook the Life Commendation potion again before saying, “Tell me what special existence there is in that direction of the Endless Ocean, and this potion will be yours.”
Onor hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he could no longer resist the temptation of the Life Commendation. Hence, he said, “That’s the direction that leads to the Endless Ocean, and the sacred land of the Sea Clan lies in the middle of it.”
One of the main reasons that Onor revealed that information was because he hadn’t seen the Immortal King flying that way at all, and he didn’t think that Lin Li would be able to break into the heavily defended sacred land of the Sea Clan with a single battleship. Although he knew that the young Lin Li was a Sanctuary powerhouse, he was confident that the Sea Clan would definitely be able to deal with Lin Li since they could go against the High Elves.
“The sacred land of the Sea Clan?” Lin Li was taken aback by that answer as he wondered if the Immortal King was going to the sacred land of the Sea Clan for something. At this point, he remembered that in the history of Anril, legend had it that the Sea Clan, which once caused the High Elves to be in fear, seemed to have fallen overnight. By the end of the Dark Age, the Sea Clan rarely appeared in front of others, and some even called the Gilded Kingdom the Sea Clan because they had completely forgotten what the real Sea Clan looked like.
If the Immortal King had really gone to the sacred land of the Sea Clan, could the Immortal King have been the one who’d caused the sudden decline of the Sea Clan? With the Immortal King’s strength, it didn’t seem to be a tough feat for him. After all, even the Dragon of Destruction, one of the Dragon Aspects, was killed by him.
However, why would the Immortal King do that? Was he out to get rid of the obstacles for the High Elves to rule over the world? If the High Elves really wanted to develop in the Endless Ocean, the Sea Clan might not really be able to resist it. Hence, the Immortal King did not have to attack the Sea Clan for the sake of High Elves’ development.
So, what was it in the sacred land of the Sea Clan that attracted the Immortal King? Lin Li once again turned to look at Onor, whom he probably had to ask in order to find out what there was in the sacred land of the Sea Clan.

The only problem — he can’t use Aura at all! These fighters call themselves the “Wolves of Haven”, and strive to create a world where demons no longer roam their lands! Though Noah Hearts is an exceptional swordfighter for a young man, his total inability to use aura means he could never hope to defeat the demons! Despite this major setback, he still hopes to become the king of Kissen and create a better world for those in his country! As he walks home from his daily training, his world is shifted upside down when he sees a few familiar faces in his home… This is the first draft of what I want to be a 9 volume series. I'll be editing, rewriting, and releasing the volumes on Amazon once they're finished. I'll admit, I'm finishing chapters in sprints because I want to participate in the writathon (Apr. 2022) so I apologize if there are some issues with the prose. Point them out to me and I'll fix them! Anyway, I have no backlog, but I plan on uploading chapters as I finish them. I don't want to spend weeks re-editing and never publishing like I used to, so I'm just gonna post when it's done. Like I said, this story is my take on a mix between solo leveling and chainsaw man. Specifically, the MC is the only one that can consciously level up (sort of), and the plot is fast paced and emotional just like chainsaw man. There are plenty of other inspirations, like HxH, Jojo, JJK, Cradle, and even FF6, but the first two are the biggest. Basically, if you don't like Shounen stuff, this probably isn't the story for you. Regardless, I hope you all like the story!
