"No need to hurry," Alfred told all the employees to stop their work. Everyone looked at him puzzled. Alfred sighed and asked the secretary to sort out the Jones Group's official documents and hand them to Lauren.

"We'll give up this project and let Ms. Jones take over the Jones Group." Alfred surprised his employees. After all, what Alfred reacted before made everyone know that he really treasured the Jones Group. Although they were not willing to, no one dared to question Mr. Kent's decision and had to stop this.

"It's time to return the Jones Group to its original owner," Alfred left a word that made everyone confused.

"Ms. Jones, the Kent Group sent someone to deliver something." The assistant came in and handed a package to Lauren.

Lauren opened the file curiously and was shocked at a glance. This was simply the Jones Group's management condition. Even the president's seal was contained in it.

What did Alfred mean? Did he want to return the Jones Group to her?

Lauren said to herself, "No. Alfred cared so much about the Jones Group before. There must be something valuable for him. It is impossible for him to let go so easily." But she inadvertently recalled that what happened on the overpass before. Alfred seemed to confess to her sincerely, which made her feel rather doubtful now.

After work, Lauren walked on the road, constantly thinking about the purpose of Alfred's approach. She was in a disturbed state of mind, failing to get a clue.

"Alfred, when did you become a stalker?" It was none other than Alred who was thinking of her all day long and couldn't resist the urge to find her. "Lauren, I have sent the Jones Group's official document to your company. Have you seen it?" Alfred didn't care about Lauren's cold attitude and asked her gently.

Lauren found it funny instead. The man was so cold in the past, especially when he faced her, who was so passionate about him. He barely smiled at her back then. How come the role of the two of them changed after a few years?

"Oh, then I would like to thank Mr. Kent for not throwing it away immediately after emptied the Jones Group. Thanks a lot!" Lauren smiled professionally, and then said, "Although it may be an empty shell, I'll still try my best to take care of it, after all, it's mine in the first place."

Lauren could still beat him in words. Alfred stopped talking. Even if he explained, Lauren would not believe it. Lauren would know the truth after she took over the Jones Group.

Alfred was scolded by Lauren and finally walked away because she warned that she would call the police if he kept following her.

Seeing that Alfred had disappeared, Lauren removed her tough disguise, feeling rather tired. Fatigue was written all over her face.

A bar on the side of the road had already opened. She used to be a good girl, and she had never been to a bar to get drunk.

"Hi, gorgeous. Isn't it lonely to drink booze alone? How about letting us have a drink with you?" The tattooed man smiled obscenely, and the men following behind him started to touch Lauren.

"Get lost!" With contempt and impatience in her eyes, Lauren kicked the stinky man nearest to her and poured wine on them.

"Oh, BITCH! You want to play hard to get, huh? How would a serious woman come to a bar in a uniform?" The tattooed man wiped the wine spilled on him, took the stick, and walked towards Lauren.

The people around seemed to enjoy watching a show. They all looked at Lauren as a joke. No one intended to help her out.

Lauren realized that these people would not let her go easily, and she was a little flustered without an assistant. She was about to turn on her phone to call the police, but her arm was grabbed by someone.

"This chick's skin is really smooth," A man said with a laugh. The other men also laughed and walked around.

"Let her go!" An angry voice came from outside the bar. A tall figure then appeared in the bar, causing many women to scream.

Alfred! Had he been following behind her all the time?

The man who grabbed Lauren got beaten first, and the other men started fighting with Alfred.

Alfred had learned self-defense skills before, so he was able to deal with a group of men. But there were too many of them. After the gangsters were driven away, he also got injured.
