Soul Weapon Awakening, My Weapon Is A Harmonica Chapter 14

The Crobal Mountains.
The journey had been somewhat perilous. Other than the first time they had been accidentally attacked by the green leaf serpent at the outermost part of the mountain range of magical beasts, most of the magical beasts they had encountered were either scattered tier 1 magical beasts or ordinary tier 2 magical beasts, they did not pose much of a threat to the thirty-strong team of the dragon mercenary group.
"We're almost at Thunder Cliff."
Looking at the road ahead, Clyde said to the people behind him solemnly.
"Almost all the magic beasts near Thunder Cliff are above tier 2."
"Everyone, be careful. If you're accidentally ambushed, even if it's just an ordinary tier 2 magical beast, we might incur some casualties."
"What's the point of being afraid of tier 2 magical beasts? Isn't the purpose of our dragon mercenary group's trip that tier 3 Berserk Thunder Bear?"
"Afraid? I told you to be careful, you boor. Later on, if you let your guard down and cause your teammates to suffer casualties, can you take responsibility for it?"
"Ah, this..."
The people standing behind Leader Clyde also perked up. After all, the average strength of a magical beast in the vicinity of Thunder Cliff was more than twice that of the outermost region.
Leader Clyde observed the surrounding terrain for a while, then looked at Copperfield who was standing at his side.
"Brother Phil, the Star Dew Grass is right in front of us. Let's go take a look first."
"If you can advance to two-star, our group will have a greater chance of killing the Berserk Thunder Bear in the future."
Copperfield nodded lightly. Ever since they had gradually entered the mountain range of magical beasts, he could feel the throbbing of his soul. The location of the altar seemed to be not too far from Thunder Cliff.
"The throbbing of the Elegy has become more frequent recently. It seems to be caused by being too close to the altar."

"If I can advance to two-star here, I can try to find the altar and sign a contract with the devil."
Copperfield thought.
Clyde looked at the sky and said, "The sky is getting dark. The dangers hidden in the darkness of the mountain range of magical beasts are several times different from the daytime. The place where the Star Dew Grass was discovered previously was a dense forest with a cliff behind it."
"Let's set up camp over there."
As soon as he finished speaking, the group continued to walk forward.
Clyde's heart had always been very wary of danger. Recently, the strange movements in the mountain range had been making him uneasy.
Copperfield raised his head and looked around.
Two minutes ago, the group had arrived at the designated campsite.
In the dense forest, there was a towering mountain range in front of them. The slope of the mountain range was close to a right angle. Setting up camp behind the mountain range could prevent the group from being attacked from both sides.
However, such a way of setting up camp would also leave the team trapped in their campsite.
And the situation facing the dragon mercenary group was obviously the latter.
Copperfield slowly pulled out the sharp sword that he had obtained from the gale mercenary group and looked around.
Wind Magic Wolf.
It was a magical beast whose strength was of mid-tier 2.
Logically speaking, a magical beast of this level would hardly pose any threat to the dragon mercenary group.
"Didn't you say before that even if there were a few more tier 3 Berserk Thunder Bears, you would be able to kill them all?"
"Why do your legs seem to be trembling when you look at tier 2 magical beasts now?"
A mercenary's voice was slightly trembling as he spoke to his companion beside him. His teasing words seemed to be able to dispel the fear in his heart.
"I'm f*cking talking about a few. Look at the situation in front of you! Is there a problem with how many there are?"

His companion also trembled as he returned his gaze. Raising his eyes, he realized that the dense wolf pack was gradually surrounding the dragon mercenary group.
Looking over, the number of wolves already numbered over a hundred!
Over a hundred Wind Magic Wolves' eyes flickered with a red light that was filled with killing intent as they stared at the dragon mercenary group in front of them.
A drop of cold sweat dripped down Clyde's head as he tightened his grip on the Dragon Scale Shield.
"Patter."
Beads of sweat dripped onto the ground.
In the silent environment, the wolf pack seemed to have received the signal to attack.
They roared as they charged towards the dragon mercenary group.
Without waiting for Clyde to give the order to attack, the members of the dragon mercenary group, who fought against magical beasts all year round, all revealed their souls.
No one rushed forward rashly. Under the onslaught of magical beasts of this scale, if they rushed forward rashly, they would only die even faster.
And if one person died, it would only accelerate the collapse of the entire group's defensive line and drag down the teammates around them.
Although the members of the dragon mercenary group had a momentary panic when they first saw this group of wind demon wolves, at this moment, they had formed an orderly defensive line.
Facing the wind demon wolf pack that was charging towards them.
No one retreated in the face of battle.
In the formation, a one-star low-tier mercenary held his weapon and trembled slightly.
Following that, he suddenly gripped the long sword in his hand tightly and let out a furious roar.
"F*ck you, Wind Magic Wolf, come on, if you have the guts, come at me!"
Just as he finished speaking.
"Whoosh!"
The sound of sharp claws and weapons clashing rang out continuously from various positions on the defensive line.
A mercenary could not dodge in time and got pounced onto the ground by a huge wolf.
Its sharp claws slashed across and sliced open his stomach.
The Wind Magic Wolf was looking for its next target.
"Beast... Don't be in such a hurry to leave. Your grandfather is still not F*CKING DEAD!"
The only intact arm of the blood-stained mercenary was tightly grabbing the wolf's hind leg.
His fingernails dug into the flesh and blood of the wolf, emitting a bloody smell that caused one's stomach to churn.
...
At this moment, Clyde was frantically releasing his own soul -- the defensive power of the Dragon Scale Shield, desperately relieving the pressure on all parts of the defensive line.
The Dragon Scale Shield blocked the attacks of the wolf pack time and time again, but in places where he could not rush to help, his brothers were falling one after another!
"Why, why is it always so close?"
Clyde moved around in various positions on the defensive line. He could only watch as his members fell in front of him again and again. The distance that should have been within his reach.
Heaven and man were separated.
Even though he was a three-star soul master, a sense of despair rose in Clyde's heart at this moment.
In the crowd, beside a panting black-robed youth was a pile of three or four wolf corpses.
The mercenary sword in his hand had long since been broken.
The other end of the sword was stuck in a whimpering wolf's neck in front of him.
The youth's body was covered in claw marks.
Copperfield's current situation wasn't optimistic.
In the end.
Copperfield was only a one-star high-tier soul master.
He chopped off the head of a Wind Magic Wolf in front of him while looking at the magical beasts that were once again surrounding him.
Copperfield took a deep breath and was about to pull out the broadsword on his back.
However, he suddenly felt his soul constantly humming.
